The visitor centre is mostly closed and when we asked for directions the attendant did not put too much effort guiding us to where we wanted to go. In addition, the lookouts are open only Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. We had to find our own way around through closed roads and construction.

Informative place to start your adventure in the Gatineau park and surrounding areas. There is an outdoor washroom available and picnic tables. Parking is limited for the popularity of the place. There are restaurants and an ice cream shop within walking distance close by for some food and refreshments.

This is much more than a Park it's kinda a conservation area at the foot of Gatineau Hills. Nice parks and sitting area, Cycling 🚲 trails, Tracking Trails and Walking trails. It's has parking stops every 500 meters. And every site has a completely different face of this huge area. I have explored just 3 spots. Alot to be explored. 1. Welcome Centre....... This offers the best Cycling tracks and Cyclist community. About 10 Km is the next stop. 2. Gatineau Park Visitor Center.......... It has parks and Tracking and Walking Tracks. 4 km is the next stop. 3. MacKenzie King Estate. It has pink lake and the residence of 10th PM of Canada 🇨🇦 He has served 3 different terms 1921-1926, 1926-1930 and then 1935 to 1948. It's has very nice monuments and historic buildings.

It’s a beautiful place here. Nothing really speaks for the over water sunset with gorgeous horizons at different depths and height. Would you not want to get away to let the sun set clear your eye balls for sensory overload for just one evening and take this in? City slickers get slammed by this.. if you live in the city and find certain aspects of life beautiful, if this doesn’t do anything for you, you simply must be dead inside… I had to stop and check this out. We never made it to our destination point because my wife and I saw this, she had no trouble coming back another time to see this site! We planned an alternate Day and time to re attempt our original destination.. Little man loved this too. He definitely wants to come back here next time we can, we’re from the city so the most we get is Petrie island which falls heavily in comparison to this. We certainly don’t get sun sets like these either.

The park is beautiful and this visitor centre was very informative with the exhibits. The staff was friendly and helped me find trails to hike in the park.

A beautiful sunny relatively warm March day so we ventured out to enjoy some sunshine and nature with a stop at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre. The centre itself is beautifully constructed and completely accessible to wheelchairs in addition to some of its adjacent paths leading from the Centre. Inside the centre there is an information centre with recommendations for local sites or planning your visit at the centre, plus a selection of souvenirs for visitors. The are fully accessible washrooms and a nature museum with a history of the park and its wildlife inhabitants. The area next to the centre also has spaces for a picnic and benches. We took a short walk through the woods across a steel bridge over a small creek and enjoyed the quiet peace of the ancient forest that surrounded us. Lots of dog walkers on that Sunday and we had the chance to meet a few new 4-legged friends. Across the street from the centre there are several merchants and a variety of local restaurants/bakery. The photo attached is from the National Capital Commission library and features the interpretive display of wildlife and history of the park.

A beautiful park with so much to see and so much wildlife... Unfortunately we were there on a Tues and most of the parks trails and car parks are only accessible on a weekend and a Wed!! A shame as this was are only chance to see this amazing place whilst we were visiting Canada. I recommend planning your visit carefully.

Went to get a map and understanding of the area. They spoke French and English and provided me with a photocopy of the trail black 15 blue 15 blue 36 to pink Lake. They were very helpful courteous. They had small displays and some souvenirs. They can also guide you on which roads are closed where the parking lots are and parking fees if needed. If you are planning on attending any area in the park, I would stop in first just to get the lowdown.

Great place for kids to visit and learn about the flora and fauna at the Gatineau Park! Kids enjoyed learning names of the animals and identifying their sounds! Good interactive activities and a workbook!

I loved Gatineau park until they started to close the roads. You can only drive through Gatineau park on wednesdays, Saturdays and sundays between certain hours. Otherwise it’s inaccessible. I wish they would open the roads every day again..

Nice, but very crowded during the week-end. Almost fight with a lady for à parking spot. Also the bellvedere of Champlin was closed for cars...Don't go there in the week-end.

One of the best Parks I have seen in Canada until now, what an amazing, awesome, wonderful forest very quiet. We enjoyed a lot walking around crossing the bridge, I like that the people do not throw anything in the grass and it's very clean 👌 and well organized. I love this Country. Really Canada 🇨🇦 is an Fascinating country

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Because of her recommendation, we enjoyed a nice walk to see the fall foliage and a fall.

I was greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff member who was more than happy to answer any questions I had about the park and the various activities I can do in the park. The exhibit itself was small but packed with information about the area's history and natural beauty. I was particularly impressed by the interactive elements, which made learning about the park's flora and fauna both enjoyable and educational. Overall, the Gatineau Park Visitor's Center is a must-visit for anyone planning a trip to the park. Takes about 20 minutes to go through everything which is perfect for after a hike, bike or ski. The staff's commitment to providing a high-quality experience is evident in every aspect of the center, and I wouldn't hesitate to give it a full five stars.

Gatineau park is probably the best place for cross-country skiing in Canada. We love, it is amazing

Gatineau Park is a huge conservation area with lots of hiking, biking and walking trails. There is parking fee at the visitor center. Officers provide info about activities or routes. The vastness make you confused as to how should you go about exploring the park. It is better to do some research, grab maps and come early to enjoy a peaceful picnic with children. Definitely breathtaking views of nature in a real forest.

Its a great place to visit specially during fall. Be careful about where you park. If you get a ticket then its a hefty fine. Dont forget to visit Pink Late....its sooooo beautiful.

Pretty walk and area to explore, gets very busy after 1130 so go early. No bears seen, but hey, no biggie.

Beautiful and relaxing, there is a point at the top of the mountain which gives an amazing view of Gatineau and Ottawa skyline, unable to mark it down on maps.

Always a beautiful time to go during the fall season.

We drove straight to the visitor centre as we arrived late afternoon. As the website states, “Gatineau Park often reaches visitor capacity in the fall”. It was very, very busy and difficult to enjoy the walk and difficult to take pictures without having people around. Sugarbush trail starts at the visitor centre and PERFECT for an easy walk with children or people that have any mobility issues. Great for all ages and to bring dogs and strollers. Trail is entirely in the forest. No elevation or lookouts. We will look for a more secluded walk for our next visit.

This is a tricky one to rate since it's so huge and has so many parts, but if you love the outdoors there are tons of places to visit and things to see. Lakes and waterfalls, trails and all difficulties and distances of hiking. I love it in the park.

Beautiful walk on the Maple Syrup trail. The chipmunks at the ock shelter are very amusing! Trail is quite flat and wide and takes about 30 minutes. Kid-friendly walk. Outhouse at the trail head was the only washroom available if the center is closed.
