If you are planning to spend a nice hour having lunch, having a informal meeting during lunchtime or just having a break from work, don't go here during lunch time. The front team is unable to deal with increasing demand, instead of being honest telling you your order (nothing cooked, just a bowl!) might take longer time, they take your money with pleasure and let you wait 50 minutes (!) for a bowl, while serving other tables who had "pre-booked" and telling constantly that "next one is yours" or "in 3 minutes". If they don't respect their costumers time, if they don't have a minimum of respect to admit that they are unable to deal with growing demand, if they they don't care that by that they are wasting your lunch time and ruining what should be an enjoyable informal lunch with partners, I wonder how much do they care about other stuff. They are very popular and its a busy venue with nice atmosphere, but success has made them lose sight of the fact that individual customers and large groups are equally entitled to respect. If you still want to enjoy the nice venue and audience, go there in the afternoon but never when you have limited time (1 hour was not enough for ordering and eating a bowl). Maybe the front staff will learn to warn their clientele in the future when food might take nearly one hour to be served. In all other places the customer would be offered not to pay for the dish as compensation for the waiting time. Not at Tandem Fiets Café Vélo. The good side: there is room for improvement.

Dear Tandem, I am a customer for already 2.5 years in your café for lunch along side with numerous colleagues from my office. I will not be coming anymore and from what I hear they will not be coming also. I was always a big fan of your bowls, they were amazing, a variety of flavours, well balanced and seemed to be made with a lot of care and effort. With the significant increase of your prices (which I would generally have no issue with) - came, unfortunately, a big decline in quality and effort of your bowls. I am sure you are aware of this already but wanted to tell you how disappointed I am. Cold potatoes, peppers, bits of broccoli and arugula w tomatoes in a bowl. Absolutely tasteless and with no effort. It does look somewhat nice but it is unfairly prices 12 euros. And with an addition od 2.5 euros you can get an egg. This is really not fair and today I feel like a fool paying for this. Nevertheless I will mention that the service is good, the space is clean and nice and cookies and cakes are still really good.

Their bike repair section is just brilliant. Always good service, never overcharge and have excellent turnaround times. Also a very nice café. Truely, a hidden Madou gem.

Nice location and cafe, but customer service of the bike repair shop is poor and they’ll charge you for every little fix.
