The hotel itself is quite nice and worth looking into. It's a short 15 minute walk away from the main shopping streets in Brussels, 5 minutes away from the botanical gardens and about 20-25 minutes away from the Grand Palace area. The staff are decent, but it felt as though they didn't really want to talk to me. Except for one of the evening staff who was really friendly and tried to assist me. The problems I had was that the phone in my room did not work, so when I needed to contact reception I had to keep going up and down, I did mention this to them and their response was thanks for letting us know. The major problem I had was that the Air Conditioning in my room did not work. It was really hot, the temperature when I was there was mid twenties (degrees Celsius). So it was definitely needed. The other big issue was that the room had a tendency to smell of cigarette smoke. I'm not sure if it was the ventilation system or something, but it was not pleasant walking into a room that smelt like a smoke bar. I did not have breakfast, so can't comment on that. On the good side, they did give me quite a large room for my single self. 3 single beds in the room. A nice and rare surprise for Europe.

The room is spacious and clean. The staffs are friendly. The only thing is the sound proof might not be so good. Can hear some thumping sound. Need to walk a bit to get to public transport. We overlook our check out time (thought check out time is 12 pm), yet the staff still very patience and friendly. Didn’t charge us extra for the lateness. Thank you. Overall is a fantastic stay in bw city centre

I don’t even know where to start. Our room smelled like someone had smoked in it previously and there were large stains all over the floor. Woke up and the room was flooded from a leak in the bathroom. Poorly maintained building and lack of competence by the receptionist. No assistance and kept trying to push us out. Had to speak with him three times as he seemed to not think a flooded bathroom and wet carpet was an issue. Disgusting behaviour and accommodation.

The rooms are spacious and very good price for value, also the location is good. Mehdi is the best! He did our cheack in at 11:30 pm quickly and gave us guidance on the city and where to eat, how to use transportation and the most important landmarks to see since we have limited knowledge about the city, very professional man.

DO NOT GO HERE. Not sure why this hotel has so many positive reviews but PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY checked in, walked in our room, and checked out.. didn't want to even sit on the beds. Bathroom covered in mold, dirt EVERYWHERE in the room, what looked like to be bodily fluids on not one but both of the pillows.. ceiling falling in, horrible smell... they wouldn't give any money back even tho we didn't even spend 5 minutes there, but I'd rather take the money loss then set a foot back there. People smoke in the rooms even tho it says don't smoke. And it's in a very sketchy part of town. Had to give one star bur if I could I would give -5. Pictures don't do justice of how disgusting this place was. Save your money

No Air Conditioning - this appeared to be a major problem in this Hotel. Arrived in 34oC heatwave and reported this to Reception - told there was a problem on the 5th Floor and were offered a Fan or possibly a room change - neither materialised. Rooms were OK, but not fully serviced - no towels changed during our four night stop and cups left dirty, the one day we didn't clean them ourselves. A lot of Roadworks going on outside the Hotel - angle grinder going until 1830 hours on our first night.. This was not expected or relayed by Eurostar who we'd booked with. No Fridge or Safe in rooms, plus no electric socket near table for Kettle - basic necessities these days. Smell of Cigarettes within Hotel, this must have been smelt by Room cleaners, something should be done to address this issue. Only one Lift, which failed on the day before we checked out, not ideal being on the Fifth Floor and carrying luggage down five floors on last day. Asked if it was broken or being serviced - told us they were waiting for a part for the Braking system. A very Seedy area, edge of red light and we felt very uneasy walking around - the smell of urine between the hotel and Brussels North Railway Station was overpowering, groups of people hanging around, even fighting in the street as we walked back one evening. Rubbish piled up, just outside the Hotel entrance and didn't look much better after it had been removed, this was certainly not a good look for the outside of the hotel. The most disturbing thing during our visit, which I think needs looking at - as the lift had failed, we had to use the Fire exit stairs to get downstairs .. The Fire Exit landings were all part blocked by Air conditioning units (in the open or hidden behind wood panels) .. God forbid there is an Emergency any time.. As it would severely hamper any escape, due to the narrowing of the landings, caused by these obstructions - I'm sure they would fail a Fire Service inspection. Not very good and not what you would expect of a Best Western Hotel. We stopped 18th to 22nd June 2022 We did note that the Daily Room rates on display for a Double Room were €190, would want something more for that cost. Photos explain themselves.

Our hotel room was good, not the newest and cleanest but still good, especially the bathroom. Breakfast was good too. Staff was nice, but the location is not ideal, it is Brussels-North after all. I can’t exactly say it’s not safe during the day but it’s very sketchy at night. Just be very careful of your belongings, etc. and do not venture into the small streets around the hotel.

Comfortable hotel room. It was pretty clean and well maintained, but the bathroom had some mold on the walls and ceiling. The elevator felt like it was going to drop down every time so didn't particularly feel safe using it. Still, for a nice price a good hotel.

After seeing negative reviews,we were skeptical at first. But,this was the best hotel we stayed during our European trip. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Everything was neat and tidy. We had a good stay at the hotel. The Brussels North is nearby too.

Rooms are big enough. The heating is not that well. Coffee is pricey. A bit far away from the centre. Overall, good for the money.

I really love this hotel chain and specially booked the Best Western in Brussels. And it was the worst experience… 1. The hotel is small, located north of the center, near the railway station. We walked on foot without using public transport. So, I can say that the location is fine🏩 2. The room itself was nice. Of the minuses: the first night is insanely cold, since there is no central heating, the remote control from the air conditioner did not work, only on the second day we were able to turn on the air conditioner and warm up a little🥶 The sink was also leaking. Poor sound insulation. Among the advantages: classic interior, comfortable beds, good soap, tea/coffee and kettle, view from the window. Room cleaning was good🧹👌🏼 3. The service is just disgusting. We were met by a woman at the reception absolutely emotionless. She just gave the card without telling about the breakfast time, about wifi, without offering any help.... It shouldn't be like this. The first impression was ruined😑 In the following days we met other reception staff. There was some incredibly careless attitude and unwillingness to speak English. On the last day, the employee did not even respond to our "Thank you, goodbye". No comments. Just a shock🤨 But the most interesting thing happened at breakfast! 🤡 4. Breakfast is a good buffet: cereal with milk, bread, pastries🥐, ham, cheese🧀, fruit, tasteless omelet, coffee, juices☕️. My friend did not finish her sandwich and decided to take it with her in a napkin. An employee / matron-like woman saw this and started shouting in French at the entire buffet. We politely apologized, said we didn't understand French. She complained to the administrator. A man came and just started yelling in English that we can't take out food. Are you serious?! Yell?! The people who are staying in your hotel for more than 100€ per night?! The sandwich was left so as not to disturb inadequate people...🥴Although I know that they just throw it later... there was no explanation why we could not take this sandwich with us. The morning is ruined, the shock for the whole day from such behavior, we just didn't want to go back to the hotel😣 The next morning, an employee of the hotel, this older woman, just chased us. First of all, she made a mad face when she saw us at breakfast. She showed her disdain with her whole appearance and grumbled something in French at us. Secondly, she walked and watched as we put food on our plate, stood next to us while we had breakfast. Every time we wanted to take something else, she would jump up hysterically and run up to look. It felt like I was stealing something from her🤦🏻‍♀️ Although the breakfast was fully paid for, it is an immensely disgusting feeling. And she also ran to the administrator, apparently, complained about us again and constantly pointed her finger in our direction. What nonsense!!!!!!!! People just came to have breakfast.... 🤷🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️🤯 When we left the hotel, we were billed for takeaway breakfasts.... The most moronic people I've ever met....🤬😡😳 Of course, we did not pay. If the administrator had insisted, I would have made a real scandal, because there were no takeaway breakfasts🤬 I really hope that the hotel management will take measures against its negligent employees.

There is no fridge in the room as promised with booking. We also were missing a safe, that is standard nowadays and may be expected in this price category. The room service did not replace shower gel, complimentary coffee. The trash in the bathroom was not removed. Breakfast was offered for 15 EUR what was 2,50 higher than on our printout by Best Western. Too expensive for this poor service.

The whole hotel is great, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the receptionists are very friendly. Breakfast (15€) not included, they are little pricey but I'd say its worth having them. The only downside is the location, which didnt seem very safe, especially during nights. But overall 5/5

For a BW, definitely surprised at how decent it was. It's surrounded by all the other big hotels which are further outside the centre which is a bummer but the room was great. Seems very new. Staff were friendly even when busy. For the price of it (booked on Ocado), well worth the value.

The room is big and clean. Friendly staff here as well! AC is working so fine in hot weather. In terms of location, just avoid the street next to nord station then everything is perfect !

Got a room on the 4th floor. Checked in about 4pm. The air conditioner did not work. Asked the front desk for help, but apparently the entire 4th floor is having air conditioning issues. Wasn't given this information during check in nor was I given a different room while I waited on other guests who have yet to check in. I asked to move to a different room, and I was told it was sold out this night. I asked for a refund and was denied even a partial refund. Told them I have a one year old small child in my room, and they didn't care. Absolute joke. Will never recommend this hotel, and I will look for every way to leave a bad review to keep others from having to pay all this money for a low quality hotel.

It is not a 5 star accommodations but we knew that going in. The staff was pleasant, I’m sure the language barrier makes it hard for small talk but staff was pleasant and courteous. The room was shared buy 3 females (47-67 years old) and was spacious enough for our needs. We went in January (snow/rain) so we did not have any encounters with any “suspicious” individuals and we would walk into the city and Central Station every day/night. The only issue is walking anywhere after the snow when it becomes ice. Other than that it was a good state. We had no issues. The breakfast is €17 and has a decent spread.

My friends, this is an excellent hotel just renovated in an excellent location! The breakfast is delicious as well you should include it in your rate. But the best thing about the hotel, is Jordi. He's in the front desk, and he can not be more amazing! Such a comic and diligent guy. You will be lucky if he will be there during your check-in.

It's a good 3STAR hotel.. facilities as advertised. Neat and clean. The facility standards are not very upscale but it's good. Rooms are fine. Except that it doesn't have a refrigerator. Very good bathroom and toilet. breakfast is average..but repetitive. I will choose often if budget prices are available.

Sincerely ma last stay at the hotel was better. I was a bit disappointed with my present stay. On a positive note, the room was spacious, bed was good. However the heater was not working. A technician installed a mobile heater in my room. The room had a large window with little insulation from the cold. My room had very limited reception to wifi.

I felt stolen and understand the hotel took advantage of the situation. I booked with them via Agoda. My booking was requested one day prior my arrival and There were a plenty of rooms available. Via Aguda I had only the option to book without cancelation refund. Well, it was one day prior my arrival, nothing possibly could go wrong. In the following day, on my way to the hotel, I was stuck in Amsterdam, no way to get to Brussels. There was a strike with the train company and all the buses were All booked. Straight away I called to the hotel that told me: “I can’t do anything to help you, your booking is with Agoda” I called Agoda that said they would contact the hotel, so they did and they comeback saying the hotel didn’t want to cancel and my refund request was refused. I contacted the hotel again and they said that they wouldn’t refund my money. I explained all the situation and I they denied my request. Some facts: My booking was less than 24h than my cancelation request I called the hotel, they said that couldn’t help I tried more than once to solve the situation I never used the service I felt that was stolen! That they took advantage of the situation! I requested to change dates, they couldn’t! This why I would never recommend this hotel!

The hotel is closer to the Brussels north train station and is really a shady area full of junkies and so the whole night you hear alot of noise and also police sirens. But the other side of the hotel is a nice location. The hotel is therefore on the border of a shady area. We didnt face any issues but still felt unsafe and filthy at night. The hotel itself was okay for the price but the rooms stink of cigarettes and the bathtub separation leaked and there was water every time on the floor after shower. Overall one can stay here if its for a short duration.

Hotel close to the North Station. Value for price is okay. The rooms could be more quiet, but it is okay. The blanket in the bed however was too thin, and there was no alternative available in the room. Better to check this with the reception before going to sleep.

Relatively affordable 3 star hotel for city centre. I had single room with no breakfast so cannot comment on food. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and maintained well. What could be improved. Elevator was slow and freshly painted from inside. Before I read the sign my suit was also painted. The elevator had a smell of paint which might be toxic. The rooms were a bit noisy. Partially due to constructions as I could hear my neighbours. Partially due to technical sounds which might be fixed.

Positives: This hotel is in nice location. Negatives: Everything else. There is noise coming from AC vent. When we asked reception they said they can’t do anything about it which is really weird. Again when we asked for second time they gave another room on next day and this time AC is not working. We can’t sleep for our whole trip properly. Even if I get a room at this hotel for free, I won’t go next time

Excellent location. Very nicely decorated, relaxing, welcoming atmosphere, with excellent breakfast options, great beds, and wonderful decor. Wifi worked great. Check-in/out went very smooth. We enjoyed our stay, and will definitely come back. The location was great, right next to the train station, and a quick walk to downtown! Perfect for a couple of nights, or just a quick sleep before catching a train or plane!

Although near to the center of town, it is definitely not the best option for the price. The rooms lack the updates for multiple device charging as well as proper working appliances. Although there was a cooktop, there's no way pots or utensils to use this. We rented a family room and only one ac worked. I reported this upon check in to both the afternoon shift and night shift. Reported this again to the next morning shift. Day 3, no one has checked the unit. The full bathroom had a laminated countertop, which has separated long ago. The maintenance folks caulked the edges. The listing for the hotel included parking, yet no parking is available. We were forced to park at a nearby hotel lot, where we paid out of pocket. Many folks sleeping on the streets nearby as well as lots of nightly noise on the streets below. Please stay somewhere else.

TLDR/In short: No AC (systematic) , water temp fluctuation, unresponsive management, misrepresentation of ads. We booked a one night stay in June on one of their hottest days. We made sure we booked a place with AC because of the time of the year we were traveling. Among the first thing was to turn on the AC, which was available but not working. We alerted the reception, the immediate come back was "but we give you a fan," and that he would inform the technician (upon pressing, he conceded that the technician was not in house, so I am not sure what the point that was for to solve the present situation for us), and that there was no other room available for us to change into. So the AC never worked. It would appear that the same experienced by other guests as well, not only our floors. Seeing the reviews then, it became clear that this was a systematic problem. The next morning, we spoke to another reception guy when we were checking out. He confirmed to us there there was no note about calling any technician or AC reports made for us. This, together, with the automatic "but we give you fan" seems to suggest two things: (1) that there was a break down of communication between staff of two shifts, (2) that the breakdown happens so often or that this is some kind of norm that it's not worth even communicating to the next following shift, or both. It was so hot that night neither of us was able to get much sleep. We emailed the manager to let him know of our complaint and requested for a 50% compensation. The manager suggested a free night for a future visit but that was not accepted as we had no plans to go back to Brussels. He then stopped replying to any further email. We brought the complaint to the booking agent (agoda.com), the latter kept us informed that they were sending the hotel every two days, and that they had received no response until almost two weeks later. Only with the intervention did we get an appox pitiful €25. Also the water temperature fluctuates it was not able to kept at a constant temp.

the rooms are not large, there is no refrigerator, the rooms are not very clean, at night they yell a lot under the windows, there is hair in the bathroom and sink. Pros: air conditioning works, good location

Comfortable hotel room. It was pretty clean and well maintained, but the bathroom had some mold on the walls and ceiling. The elevator felt like it was going to drop down every time so didn't particularly feel safe using it. Still, for a nice price a good hotel. I didn't have breakfast included so I don't know how that was but it did smell fresh every day.

Get away from this hotel. We had water infiltration in the room and the person at reception (the manager?) claimed that we had forgotten to turn off the bathroom tap. The room was flooded but not the bathroom, how is that possible? Friends were in another room and also had water infiltration problems. The air-conditioning doesn't work. The water in the shower goes from very hot to very cold in a matter of seconds. I have rarely seen such dishonesty. I can understand a water leak, it happens. But it's intolerable to be accused, it's extremely dishonest. A simple apology would have sufficed.

Took a while to check in with only one person at the reception. The room was clean but the decoration a little dated. Comfy beds though and for a cheap stay, that’s the main thing you want

Nice reception. 15 min walk from Rail station Nord. Clean, well maintained bathroom, bath tub, I like this place

  • 1/5 Zeyu W. 10 months ago on Google
The hotel was terrible. We spent a hundred pounds. It wasn't worth it. The air conditioning is completely unable to cool, and it is too hot to sleep at night. Early in the morning the cleaners opened the door and entered the room without any warning. The water temperature in the bath was very unstable, the bath was very inconvenient and very slippery, we almost fell and bruised our knees and thighs. After checking out, there was no luggage room for luggage storage. The reception said that it could only be put in the corner of the reception desk and there was no guarantee of safety. It was a very unsatisfactory stay.

We thought this hotel (they called it “city center”…) is close to the heart of Brussels but apparently this is not the case. It is close to the Nord station where there is nothing there except homeless people, red light district and ruins. It was a horrific experience when we took a walk from the station to the hotel. The hotel itself isn’t that bad. The room was spacious and the beds were quite comfy. The only problem with the room was the clogged bathtub. However, I strongly recommend NOT to stay here due to the location.

As others have said, area is quite sketchy, however the hotel itself is quite nice, rooms and bathrooms etc were clean and service was decent. Lots of construction work going on so quite loud but can't fault the hotel for that. Would advise against staying here if you have young children however, travel cot we were given was filthy and very broken.

  • 4/5 Christine H. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel itself is nice. The hallways smelled of cigarette smoke. The neighborhood is not very good. There is so much construction in the area that it is difficult for cars and even pedestrians to get around. The park out front had some sketchy looking people. We walked through the underpass nearby and there were homeless people doing sketchy things along the way. When walking in the other direction there were people sleeping in doorways. If you stay here, I recommend taking a taxi to get around at night.

Hotel was fine, nice clean room and comfortable bed. Friendly staff and the hotel is max 15 min walk from city center, so perfect for us. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. Supply of new fresh food was too slow, coffee and juice not good and for 17,50 euro one would expect better quality.

  • 3/5 James L. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel was ideal for what we paid. My only advise is just be careful in the local vicinity. It's a little sketchy. The hotel is located in an area that is a little undesirable. Room, bed, bathroom and facilities are ok. No bar. But you can get a beer from the vending machine. Staff were great and really friendly

Elevator has been broken for days but hasn’t been fixed. Customers had to carry their luggages through very narrow stairs. Good luck if you’re on the 5th floor like me. No staff to support lift luggage to room. You’re directed to use the stairs to get your luggage to your room. Very poor customer service on this count.

  • 4/5 Dante R. 1 year ago on Google
Currently the surrounding area is under construction, so very quiet and lots of mess. Rooms well appointed. No safe or ironing facilities. WiFi pretty consistent. Lift wasn't working when we arrive, but was repaired by the first evening. Good housekeeping. No room service.

  • 1/5 Pablo F. 1 year ago on Google
Streets around the Hotel are closed due to construction, taxis get confused and end up cancelling the trip. There is nothing close to this hotel nor a walking distance to the city centre. Also, the bathroom was dirty and dangerous as the bathtub was so slippery I almost had an accident when taking a shower. I DO NOT recommend this place at all..

Very bad service from the reception. It was a old man. Doesn’t help. I call down 3 times for get help because our room the light was cut. He just push down our phone. Than i come down and he just tell me we are busy. What kind of reception help is this ? I will never come back again with this service. Very disappointed for a best western hotel. Change it to bad western will be better. Who needs help from the reception thing about to get nothing.
