Potohar is a tiny place but they do make a big difference compared to other Indian restaurants in Tokyo. The difference is in the delicacy and detail of their food. The salad dressing with their homemade pickled spice onions, the fresh naan baked in the tandoori oven which is not too sweet compared to other places, and the curries are fragrant and punchy with freshness of ingredients and spice! I strongly recommend this place to anyone strolling in West Shinjuku especially on a rainy day when there are not os many customers. Thank you for the experience and let s keep sharing the passion for good food!

The best Indian Restaurant that I ever taste. The flavor is just perfect on my taste. Neither too strong nor too plain. They have bento menu which not spicy and suitable for kids with enough portion. We tried bento with chicken butter for my child, dried curry (really recommend) and half&half chicken. All taste is perfect. The staff is really nice and kids friendly, we also got ice cha and hot cha while waiting for our take a way food. And also got free desert inside our take a way. And the most important thing is the food is all HALAL 👏❤️ This restaurant is located near Shinjuku central park, so it's perfect to order after your family play at park. Very recommend 👍

Came here for lunch at 12 noon on a Monday and was able to get a seat. It's only a counter with around 12 seats. They have daily specials only with different days serving different things the day we went was keema eggplant and lental curry. Comes with all you can drink soup and salad as well as rice and naan which you can have additional helpings of for 1050 yen. Was tasty and service is quick. Worth visiting if nearby

What a great meal we had at Potohar near Shinjuku. It’s a small diner but the food is authentic and prepared / served with care and love. Thank you so much for the great food. A must visit if your are in Tokyo and want to have sumptuous Indian / Pakistani meal

Delicious food. I think they have the best butter chicken curry in tokyo. The staffs were generous with the portions and they sounded pretty friendly.

Just ordered delivery and it was the worst Chicken Tikka Masala I've ever had and I've eaten Chicken Tikka Masala hundreds of times. It was quite literally chicken in oil. Absolutely no creaminess at all, just oil. Really disappointing.

It has been serving Indian cuisine at a location facing Koshu Kaido for quite some time. The master has the special ability to memorize the faces of customers who have visited the store. Saturday is Biryani day. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was offered biryani. There's no need to turn down the temptation of biryani. Because it's delicious. Biryani is probably prepared in advance, stir-fried in a frying pan like fried rice, and served in the blink of an eye. The taste is outstanding, and although the portion is large, you won't be able to stop eating it with a spoon. Halal version of vegetable biryani is also available.

Very tasty butter chicken and vegetable curry. Garlic naans were soft but with perfect chewiness and so good that we went back for a second batch today. Friendly and really excellent Indian. Very highly recommended. Only a few counter seats (6-8) but you can have takeaway and is a short 1 minute walk from our hotel at Mimaru- Shinjuku West.

While staying in Shinjuku, we came across this road side restaurant serving Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi food. You get basically rice, nan and different curries. You can choose from fixed menu . Food is good. Difficult for vegetarian people to choose from. The owner is a gentleman and helpful in providing food as per your choice.

Food is awesome for halal options. Food is freshly prepared upon ordering. Customer's able to sight the food preparation while waiting for the meal. Small & cosy area. Friendly staff with great customer service. Best deal shop operates till past midnight.

Another great Indian in shinjuku. Staff is friendly and food is great. Big portions for the fixed menu items and very reasonably priced especially for Tokyo. You will not be disappointed by the food here. Small restaurant but highly recommended.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant with really tasty and fresh food. Mr Khaliq made our time worth spending there. He not only serves you the food but he engages with his customers to make sure you enjoy the food and have a experience of lifetime. Also not to forget the remaining staff who are very friendly and jolly. Definitely going there next time when we will visit Tokyo.
