I saw this place had great reviews so I went for general checkup and cleaning. I ended up paying ¥45,000+ and was told that a simple filling would cost ¥57,000+, root canal ¥140,000+, and a crown ¥220,000+. This is much higher than the market price in Tokyo. No wonder I was able to get an appointment so quickly! Given that their services were just okay (not amazing, definitely not the best in Tokyo), I’m not sure what justifies such steep price. After my first visit, I decided to go to another clinic my friend recommended, which is also English speaking but significantly more affordable.

Years ago, I went for root canal that was previously wrong done. I remember the male dentist asking where my S.O. working and how much the international insurance will cover so that he can reach to that max level by adding extra cleaning there and repair there to maximize the amount he can get (this is so rude in many ways, if I were a Japanese he will not dare to speak about my private life, but he could if I am a foreigner and not so good at Japanese at that time. I think he behaved as if a foreigner with imperfect Japanese is an idiot and cannot recognize a money-digger who speaks about money so forcibly)... I feel sorry for people who cannot speak Japanese, because it is Tokyo and there are many dentists.

Best English speaking dentist in Tokyo. The staff is very friendly, and accommodating. I had a root canal and the process was virtually painless. I was given a very thorough dental plan which was very helpful. I have been to other English speaking dentists here in Tokyo and I assure you this is the best place to go!

I go to this clinic because it has very good dentists, which is quite rare. However, reception service is not good, we have tried to book an appointment by mail, but we still got phone calls...Why do I have to spend my time and sending email if in the end you anyway call? On top of that, I could not pick up the phone and we got a long voice message, explaining something which could be done by mail

Best dentist I've ever visited, bar none. Dr. Enatsu puts the typical National Health insurance Tokyo dentist to shame with his professionalism, personal service, and thoroughness. The very few one-star reviews here should be taken with a grain of salt. If you want "cheap," go find it. Lots of cheaper providers in Tokyo, the so-called "market," but you get what you pay for.

Dr. Enatsu has been my dentist for 20 years and I would not consider going to another dentist. He is unfailingly considerate and always inspires confidence. He explains the procedures beforehand with just enough information. He has a deft hand with anaesthetics and it is always a pain-free visit. The receptionist and hygienists are also extremely considerate and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend this clinic.

I highly recommend Dr Hayashi for her (and her team’s) care when working with young children. My initially frightened 3 year old had such a great experience that now he tells everyone he wants to be a Dentist & asks when he can go back. He had a check, & full clean (Including scrape of build-up). She was so gentle & prepared him well for what was going to happen. This compared to experiences in Australia where some dentists wont even attempt to work with 3 years olds. If you are looking for a great dentist, especially for kids, it’s here.

We have lived in many places and seen many good dentists but Dr. Enatsu has the best bedside manner of any dentist we’ve been to. My son gets so anxious about any type of medical appointment and he had to have a tooth pulled. The entire staff at United Dental was so patient, sweet and relaxed with my son and Dr. Enatsu was so good with him, making sure he was comfortable, checking in with him re: any pain. The tooth extraction went beautifully. My son gave him two big thumbs up. We highly recommend United Dentists!

Our family of four have been with United Dental for five years. Sachie, the office manager, takes care of everything from insurance cover questions to making appointments to checking everything is ok. She is absolutely on top of it all. The dentists and the hygienists are excellent. The dentists speak perfect English and can converse with you about all dental issues no matter how big or small. The hygienists are absolutely careful and particularly good with small children who can be nervous about their first dental experience. We recommend United Dental unreservedly.

I was extremely fortunate to find Dr.Enatso after unfortunately cracking a tooth whilst on holiday in Japan. From the moment I got in touch with Dr.Enatso, his patient care was incredible. We needed urgent care while traveling in Tokyo and an English speaking office. The whole team was awesome from the front desk, Sachie Sugure to the dentist, Dr. Enatsu. The doctor is UCLA trained and speaks perfect English. Very caring and thoughtful. Highly recommended!!

I've only been to the dentist maybe 3 times in the last 10 years due to a major fear caused by a not so great dentist when I was a teenager, so when I went to Dr Enatsu, I was pretty nervous. I needed a substantial amount of fillings and an extraction - I told Dr Enatsu there was no way I was able to have an extraction and I was very worried about the cavities. He booked me in for a series of appointments to address the cavities and always booked me nice long appointments so I had time to get comfortable and was confident the anesthesia had worked. After 4 weeks of appointments successfully treating my cavities, I was so confident I had the extraction, which was unbelievably quick and painless. Dr Enatsu is hands down the best dentist I've seen anywhere in the world and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Also, the dental nurse who works with him is just lovely, so reassuring and kind.

Top quality dental care. I had a potentially difficult wisdom tooth extraction that two other dental clinics did not want to do. I found United Dental Office online and after speaking to them, they expressed their confidence that they could do the job. They performed a smooth and painless extraction of my wisdom tooth. I could not use my Japanese insurance here but it was still worth the extra cost. I just regret that not coming here earlier.

This dental clinic is top notch. The staff was helpful and English speaking. However, keep in mind that their prices are also sky rocketing!! Without full insurance coverage I recommend to find an alternative.

I was in your office yesterday. I want to tell everyone thank you for taking care of me so quickly and painlessly! This is the place to go if you want a good western medicine dentist! I had a cracked tooth and had a terrible experience with a different dentist because I thought he would give me a block for my root canal. But he didn't and it was horrible! I left him determined to find a better equipped place to finish what had been started. I found United Dental on the web. I traveled to Tokyo from Fukuoka and it was totally worth it! At United Dental Clinic, I received a CT scan and x-rays to determine the exact problem. Their English is great! My tooth ended up needing to be extracted because the crack was int the root. It was extracted with no pain! Also learned about other things that I need to be aware of in the future to prevent this from happening to my other teeth. Dr Enatsu is a comprehensive dentist taking into consideration all aspects of your teeth. I am so glad I found this place. I HIGHLY recommend Dr Enatsu for Endodontics for sure!! Very impressed! My 5 year old daughter had the greatest first experience. She was watching youtube while having her teeth checked. The surprise box also made a major wow. She asked me when we could go back! And on top of that, very professional team. Would definitely recommend!

United Dental is an AMAZING dental office in downtown Tokyo!!! I am on a 6 week holiday in Japan and have had two dental emergencies come up. The office speaks wonderful english and were able to see me right away. Everyone from the receptionist, to the assistant and dentist are exceptional at their job. They offer pain free dentistry in a high-tech office. My father is a dentist in the US and I was nervous to be treated by someone over seas, but felt right at ease the moment I walked into the practice. I highly recommend anyone to this office for the best dental experience in Japan!

From the moment I stepped into the office, they were very kind and helpful in keeping on time with my appointment. The desk administrator was helpful in making sure I was taken care of. I am an American living and working in Japan. I was super excited to find this place only to find out they don’t accept Japan National health insurance (as a Dentist IN Japan?).

I needed an emergency root canal on New Year’s Eve , Dr Enatsu responded and even though he had other travel plans fit me into the schedule. Had an emergency issue come up during my semester abroad. Phenomenal service--all the professionals were extremely kind and helpful. I was definitely a less than perfect patient (I lived about an hour away, so I was late for all my appointments) but they were very understanding and were able to accommodate. If anyone needs emergency dental assistance in English, I can highly recommend Dr. Enatsu and his entire staff.

I highly recommend United Dental Office if you’re looking for US level dental care in Japan. The dentists are extremely experienced and up to date with newest dental research. All the staff here speak very good English so it is easy for foreigners to communicate. The dentists always explain the procedure step by step which eases my dental anxiety. Even during covid times when everyone is masked, I am always greeted with a warm welcome and a big smile by the dental assistant. All the staff members prioritize my health and comfort which is reassuring when seeking treatment in a foreign country. My experience every time is pleasant, the bad reviews here are unwarranted. This office has amazing customer service and I am always treated well even when it gets busy.

Outstanding service and craftsmanship! Since 2009 I have relied on Dr. Enatsu and Dr. Hayashi, and I have always been satisfied with their fine work, particularly complex procedures like new or replacement crowns. As a repeat customer, I especially recommend their custom-made night guards--the best I have found anywhere.
