ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Space is very limited inside the restaurant so you have to wait in a queue at the ground floor and a staff member will take you done once they have a table ready for you. They have seating right by the kitchen as well as little booth seats. It was all very small and cozy and I quite enjoyed the experience. While the meat was a little too raw for my taste, it was still SO GOOD!! The egg was perfectly runny and was this beautiful volcano down into the rice. I highly recommend the onion beef cowl with miso cream cheese, the cheese was absolutely scrumptious and tasted incredible with the rice, egg yolk, onion, and soup. The oxtail soup was also very delicious. They provided barley tea as well which was cold and delicious. Highly recommend this little place tucked in between buildings.

Tried the normal roast beef rice bowl set with double meat serving. There is a lot of meat, and the meat are not tough. Sauce is on the sweet side but tasted good with the egg and mayo. I would say it is pretty decent for the price. But do note that a lot of the reviews here are given due to the offer of a free drink.

Special designed roasted beef top on rice with egg yoke and mayonnaise supplement with soup. there 2 types of meat and 2 types of bowl size you can choose. Good for meat lover and want quick meal. With limit seat inside, you may need to wait.

Although the waiting time was a bit long, it was an alright experience overall. I would suggest arriving about 30 minutes before the standard lunch or dinner hours to avoid such a lengthy wait. The dining atmosphere is very cozy and clean, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff members were friendly and provided excellent assistance throughout the meal, making the overall experience more enjoyable. When it came to the food, I have to say that the dish was presented beautifully. However, I personally did not enjoy it as much as I had hoped. It seemed to be a thicker version of beef carpaccio served cold on warm rice and accompanied by various sauces. The dish was a bit too cold for my taste, but fortunately, the soup and horseradish helped to balance out the flavors and make it more enjoyable. Overall experience was satisfactory. I would recommend arriving ahead of the standard lunch or dinner hours to avoid a long wait. The cozy and clean atmosphere, friendly staff, and well-presented dishes were definitely positives. However, the taste of the dish itself did not fully meet my expectations. Nevertheless, it was an interesting new experience that I would recommend trying at least once.

Even if it wasn’t in the shape of a volcano it would still be great. Amazing flavour and good beef. Menu is very simple. Is better to go during off peak so you don’t have to wait. Can just head in down the stairs.

Just look at this masterpiece! It’s so beautiful. Everyday I’m not back here I get depressed. This must have been one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. I don’t know how the chef does it, but packing in that much meat and have it stand must not be easy. That egg on top seals the deal. I can’t wait to go back, I crave you everyday of my life.

Had it 3 years ago and had it today. Food quality didn’t diminish at all. Wagyu Roast beef was tender and soft. Not much of line and very reasonable price. The ox soup is very delicious

The restaurant doesn’t have a lot of siting space so expect a bit of a wait time even at 4 pm. Tried the ‘Japanese’ beef bowl but it lacked flavour and was cold, not good. The soup was delicious though. The presentation of the beef bowl was great, very appetising but my taste buds need more than that. Decent service.

Found this place while wandering around Akihabara on the last night of my Japan trip and wish I'd run into it sooner! The steak plate was delicious and also amusing in that the meat is served to you rare on a sizzling plate and you basically use the plate to cook it to your desired taste. It was also very reasonably priced and the staff were very nice and helpful especially to a gaijin with limited Japanese like me. A staffer gave me some handy English instructions after my plate was served so I knew what to do. The only downside is that the restaurant is small like so many Tokyo eateries so seating is limited. You have to queue up on the ground floor level until you get called down the stairs to the actual dining area. Luckily for me there wasn't a line when I got there and it was only a short wait for some seats to open up however as I left there were ten or so people snaking out the door. I'll definitely be hitting up Roast Beef Ono again on future Japan trips!

Very good restaurant if you like meat and roast beef. I got the black Wagyu beef and it was super soft. The roast beef was medium to rare. The sauces had a lot of flavour but the beef is also good on its own. It's a popular place and there was a line up on a Saturday night. It wasn't too bad, maybe 30 minutes or so.

Solid beef bowl. Simple, easy to understand menu and food served fast. Beef was top notch tender. Loved the richness of the egg which gelled everything together and the refreshing mayo. Horseradish sauce was the bomb! Staff spoke decent English and queue moved fast despite the small space. Highly recommend.

Very good place for lunch. The meat was very tender and the combination with the egg on top sets it apart from other meals. I will definitely repeat when I return to Japan.

Super delicious beef bowl with soft texture. Highly recommend the wagyu beef bowl. Unfortunately the stake plate was sold out.

The ox tail soup was mind blowing delicious. The beef was fresh and amazing. A good hearty meal worth trying. Expect long wait time.

Despite the long queue, we waited for an hour to be seated, but the meal we had in Roast Beef ōno Akihabara was quite satisfying.

Waited 1hr in the rain for this I purposely chose faster lunch to avoid the rush, but it seems that this place it is a rush hour every hour! I had the Kurogo black beef set with 200g rice and was ability sauce. Honestly I was a little annoyed to have to wait 1hr for it, but the food came quickly and after the first bite, I forgot how much my legs had to stand 😅 The beef was mostly rare from what I can see. Roasted at a very low temperature for a very long time, I think. It is fresh, soft and flavourful, without being salty or sweet. Just natural and clean! The staff also asked where I was from so they could speak English to me, because I don't know Japanese. Bonus point! People, just do yourself a favour and try it. It is worth it.

I just ate here. It was amazing. Theres a wait but worth it to the end. The regular size portion was enough and the rice to beef ratio was on point. Paired with their highball, their Japanese Roast Beef Bowl really hits the spot. I was looking forward to the Steak Plate but it ran out but it didn’t matter after I ate my order. Will be sure to come back!

Ordered the Japanese Beef Roast Beef Bowl with onion sauce. It was served with miso marinated cream cheese which really add creamy flavour and horseradish (not really my liking). Honestly the wasabi sauce looks more tempting. The dish were served with egg, a bowl full of rice and really delicious oxtail soup. The soup was so flavorful but it was clear 🥺 I don’t know how they made it but it was amazing. The beef were thinly sliced and really tender that just melts in your mouth. The dish was so delicious 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🥹 Came here at 19.20 and had to wait for 40 minutes to be seated. Around 20.00 the ingredients were sold out and it was only 5 lines after me 😱 so you better come early to avoid long lines.

Truly delicious. We went with the rich meat version, the recommended onion sauce, and all the sides. I mixed the egg and sauce with the rice and it was plenty creamy and so good! I've read that people like adding the cream cheese but it's quite the tough block and I'm not quite sure what it added to the mix... The horseradish though was a great addition. Loved this place, will try to return next time I'm in Tokyo!

A small shop, doesn’t have too much seating. Got the medium size and it was good enough for me. Egg is perfect. One point to note on the beef is that it’s a little on the raw side so if you’re particular, this wouldn’t be for you. The soup deserves a special mention. Amazing.

Be prepared to wait, I waisted around 40-50mins. Beef bowl was delicious, I got the regular beef bowl with regular size rice. Soup was tasty and I really enjoyed adding the mountain wasabi my dish. Staff were really nice and efficient in getting diners in and out, you place your order while waiting in line so by the time you sit down you’ll have your food.

Roast beef done Japanese style!!!!! This place is delicious and very reasonably priced for wagyu. This place always has a long que outside and very high ratings on Google too. It’s a small place with about 20 seats max. It’s actually underground down a windy stairwell typical of J I arrived about 20 minutes before closing at 9:40 and there was still a line. Luckily I was able to be seated. I was the last guest they took for the evening. I ordered the medium size wagyu roast beef bowl set meal for 1870yen. You get to customize the size of the bowl for more meat and more rice. The set also comes with beef tail soup and condiments of miso cream cheese and fresh mountain wasabi. You also get to choose your sauce type- Chaliapin (onion) or mountain wasabi. I picked the onion sauce this time. The bowl comes out like a little mountain and there is a raw egg yolk in the middle of the meat pile. There is also a creamy mayonnaise sauce on the side too which add another flavor. They give you instruction on how to eat it too. This was such a great meal! I rarely give 5 stars but this one deserves it. The meat was exceptionally tender and favorful. For the price, this is an amazing value for high quality meat! DELICIOUS!

Nice and affordable meal ! Roast beef cooked very well with nice sauce. Limited seat and small restaurant. You may need to queue up for this meal. However, it's a great option for roasted beef !

My first time trying Wagyu (Its close to A5 quality) and the Japanese beef bowel was absolutely delicious! The Wagyu melts in your mouth. Just be prepared to wait about 40 minutes in a line just to get inside but once you're in, service is very fast. The meals are also quite affordable. Highly recommend!

The oxtail soup was the highlight of the meal and was mind-blowingly good. Seasoned to perfection and amazingly savory. The roast beef wagyu bowl was good but not as amazing as the hype makes it out to be. The flavor of the beef was mostly covered by the flavor and richness of the sauce and egg yolk, and it tasted a little under-seasoned. It was also a bit chewier than I expected, but it makes sense and is tender compared to normal beef considering this is a roast cut. I also ate at Gyukatsu Ichi Ni San a day before this, which set my expectations for wagyu really high. I would recommend trying it once to have tried it but would likely not return considering the wait time.

We like our dishes. There are English menu and instructions. Service was excellent, just a small mixed up that the waitress gave my order to the next table who ordered the same one I did but later. I would give 4.5 stars.

YOU HAVE TO EAT THIS..! If you have not eat this before, you have not been to Tokyo yet. The beef slices are amazing..

It’s a popular roast beef bowl restaurant in Akihabara. It got famous by its YouTube video showing their cooking in the kitchen. While their beef is tender and photogenic, the taste was not as special as I expected. I was surprised by the ratio of girl among the customers. (They were all taking photo for show it off on their instagram 🤣)

  • 5/5 L C. 5 years ago on Google
Really great! Looks exactly like the videos and pictures online. You can also choose how much rice it comes with at the same price! The special (limited time?) steak plate is even better but it has a lot of tendons in it so it's not for everyone!

Heard about this place for a long time just have a chance to visit last week. Ordered the 3100 yen Black wagyu roasted rice bowl and did not disappointed. The roasted beef was cooked perfectly rare. Very juicy and tender. It goes well with raw egg, mayo, the sauce and rice. Very very delicious. I just wish that they served the roasted beef hot or warm this would make the dish even more better. Good service and reasonable price highly recommended

Went here around 12:15pm on Friday with a bit of a line but not too big (probably 5 tables ahead of us). I went in as a party of 2 and the wait only around 15 minutes before sitting down. This place is phenomenal! We ordered the wagyu bowl set. The beef itself was so juicy and flavorful, presentation was really awesome, especially with the egg at the top of the meat mountain. They even had instructions on the suggested way to eat it. The set comes with rice at the bottom of the meat, the roast beef itself, egg, mayo, and with wasabi and cheese on the side to eat in bites. Topping it off with the cow tail soup made the experience even more refreshing. Definitely a place to visit at least twice per trip to Tokyo.

Totally worth the wait. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was absolutely delicious. The roast beef melts in your mouth, the egg gives it a great taste, the mayo adds flavor, and the pickled cabbage adds some crunch. But the best side offerings were the cream cheese and wasabi. Really takes the dish up another notch. Service was fast, as when I sat down I received my meal. Staff was friendly too. I definitely recommend trying this place out.

Great bowl of roast beef. Very tasty and tender. There maybe a queue as it's pretty popular.
