Nice little park in the heart of Manchester City. Quite crowded on a sunny day as itโ€™s close to University. Perfect place to walk or chill near the lake or in garden. Youโ€™ll see people reading, playing, even doing barbecue . Thereโ€™s a little playground for kids as well. Beautiful flower beds. Definitely recommend to anyone nearby!

Beautiful park..never been before, but its well kept, stuff for the younger and middle age groups to do. There's also a river that runs along side it. There's probably more to see but didn't get to the other end! It's formal garden has been around for over 100 years old and is breath takingly beautiful.

Very beautiful park located opposite to Salford Museum and Art Gallery. There are plenty to tracks to walk, old trees, playground, bridge with view for the river. I seen Canadian gees there. Great place for walk alone or with dog, meeting and chatting with friends.

Great park to spend with children and your dog. You can see there is a path with many people jogging or rent an electric scooter. There is a river with ducks and a playground that offers a few great toys for children to play, in saw there is even a small sandbox. When we were there everything was closed for food and I couldn't find a bathroom which is a problem. There were some picnic benches as well as some nice flowers and looks like they have done some work to improve the park. I noticed a rubber tire plastic and other garbage in the water which was a huge disappointment and hope they can put more effort into making it cleaner.

I visited Peel Park for a maternity photo shoot, and it was just as suitable as my client and I expected. It is located in a valley behind Salford Museum and Art Gallery along Crescent road in Salford. I love the greenery, beautiful trees, flower beds, the childden's playground, the beautiful benches and tarred narrow walkways. . .it covers quite a large expanse of land. Probably one of the largest around. A calm lake lies across the edge of the park too. Some people prefer to sit by the lake, while others relax in the beautiful lawns. Interestingly, some people came with their barbeque grills. I was there on a relatively sunny afternoon so the park was quite busy, yet awesome!

To me the best park in Salford, its very comfortable. Quiet and peaceful in weekdays and lively in weekends, has enough green for you to rest or nap on and a playground for kids. Dogs friendly too.

Really big space to hang around... You can plan a very good picnic with family and friends... A very good kids area with lot of swings and activities.... Kids with me really enjoyed the place... And relaxing green area on canal side for adults You can see ducks and swans on the canal to add to your mood.... Lot of colorful flowers adding to the beauty of the park and giving you good backgrounds for pictures....

One of my favourite parks, even in the winter. During the spring flower beds are planted and the trees are gorgeous. Thereโ€™s a beautiful river streaming through that just adds to the calming atmosphere of the place.

What a great day of walking . Exploring the canal . From Farnsworth train station to the country park at mosses gate along the canal at Nob end canal basin along the old canal which is in the process of being cleaned by the canal trust .. Then out by Kersealy train station . Beautiful walk on a warm sunny day. Good long walk.

Great place, could be quiet busy, if the weather allows, but there's plenty of greenery for everyone. There's a olay area for the kids. You can enjoy reading, listening to music, resting or playing games with friends or on your own (some people played a game of football) and you can also enjoy cycling around the park.

Great little park right next to the University of Salford. Pretty landscaping with information boards and some monuments to make you think about the past. Parking seems reasonable too, next to the gallery. Saturday the park hosts a ParkRun, which is super ace!

I love this park. The play area for the children is so fun (and for us big kids called adults). It's so close to the Art gallery so both can be done in one day with is great. The flower beds are beautiful and it's a well kept park. It's also near the big head lol.

This is such a big stunning park in Salford on the edge of the city, its got a fun play area for kids, and a wonderful walk along the river (as long as the water isn't too high). In the summer the weeping willows are so pretty.. highly recommend for families and general walking during these hard times.

Spacious, Great for students who are looking to disconnect and practise some exercise. The perfect place to take children on their bikes, scooters, skaters. There is also a nice playground. It does offer a gentle walk for those who will rather enjoy some of the status .. educational trail or Victorian gardens. Will definitely recommend it.

Best park in greater Manchester. Well looked after. Great and reasonable cafe. Toilet facilities open !

  • 5/5 Jordan P. 3 years ago on Google
It's not a park I've been recommended before, which is surprising, because I think it's possibly the best one in Greater Manchester. The river running by the side, with the multiple bridges across allow you full flexibility to cross over as many times as you like. The park itself is extremely clean and well maintained. Definitely a park gem if you've not been before!

Initially went to have a stroll around the meadow. Mini waterfall and lots of green space. Stumbled across this after seeing a sign, directing. Lovely little children's play area. Freshly maintained gardens alongside a river. Lovely place to have a stroll through. Definitely a picnic area in the summer. Worth a stroll around.

A beautiful, well maintained park just outside of Manchester City Centre and next to the Salford Museum. Has a mixture of flat and hilly areas and is a great sun trap. Has a good amount of benches and plenty of flat grassy areas to sit.

  • 5/5 Robert N. 3 years ago on Google
Fantastic park. Lots of grass, with pathways running between. Lots of benches to sit. Next to the river, with relatively friendly geese. Bit of a 'hidden' gem so close to Manchester city centre.

It was a lovely sunny day at the start of November. Still enough golden yellow leafage on the trees which almost glowed in the sunshine. The park staff were busy planting winter bedding. There were a number of geese feeding on the grass by the River Irwell. Students sat chatting whilst others walked their dogs. It's a lovely spot in the middle of Salford. Salford Museum is right next to the park. Parking is tricky and there are no toilets.

We so easily forget the joy of a green space, and local history, and I had not been to nob end since the bridge had been blocked by a stolen burned out car, now the area has been cleaned up, and I can explore freely, the remains of the old locks and the canal that has been blocked off due to a collapse are there, and along the canal is a crane for unloading barges, and old hulks, it is good to be able to easily access the countryside while still in town.

  • 5/5 Simon mark B. 3 years ago on Google
Spent many years down the canal back in the late 70,s and through the 80,s growing up playing down there. Such a wonderful place to chill out look at all the animals, see if you can spot a deer that are now roaming around, saw 4 of them the other day, great place to take your dog out for his or her walk's. Let's get the canal up and running again

It has been a number of years since I was here, when the bridge over the croal was closed due to a burned out car Bocking it, but I went for a walk on Sunday to check, the path has been improved, and the bridge has been refurbished, nob end is an sssi, and it is possible to do a few canal walks from here, one can of course carry on up to little lever, and return to Farnworth a different way, it is an interesting and attractive area on a good day, even for a picnic.

A great place to walk your dogs. There's only one way in and out of the park so you'll know your dogs are safe off lead as they can't run away to the other end of the park and escape (no where to run off to!). My dog always has a great time here.
