I found this place on a google search and was excited to explore with my baby. I was not disappointed. There are numerous places to park on the road side (free). The forest comprises of multiple paths going in different directions and you will find bridges, walkways, ponds, streams and ample benches. There is a lake near the Aviary with swans, ducks & Canadian geese. Many of the pathways are tarmac or flattened and easy to walk along. Some are pram friendly but others may not be, depending on the weather. There is a park within the forest for children and the surrounding trees should provide some cover from sun or rain. The loopline towards Roe Green (approx. 1km) could take you as far as Walkden. The opposite way will take you to Monton (1.8km). This is a wide tarmac walkway, suitable for prams, dogs and bikes. I wouldn't say wheelchairs, as I saw steps at Monton and various other spots that lead onto the loopline. I followed a pathway down from the Monton loopline which took me to Alder Forest and walked back up to the loopline, for a change of scenery. There are a few exits from the forest that lead onto the main road, where the green monument is, The Delph restaurant, the dry docks and the Horsebox Coffee spot. It's a nice walk along the canal with many beautiful old century homes. I recommend the Horsebox, as the service is very friendly, accepts card, offers dairy free milk and vegan treats. Situated on one side of the canal bridge and very picturesque scenery. The Delph offers coffee, although they use an automated machine so it didn't taste good to me.

A wonderful place for a walk and an explore. The main paths are very accessible for the likes of prawns etc and we ventured a little off on the trails too on foot. We followed the 5km park run route which we enjoyed. We’re looking forward to exploring more very soon πŸ™‚

Great woods for wandering on paths or going off paths to explore. Lots of exits and entrances with on street parking close by. Joins up with mixed walking/cycling paths, and Bridgewater canal. Great kids playground in the middle - I use as an outdoor gym πŸ‘Œ The Delph pub is a great stop off - walker friendly, beer garden space for dogs, fab food and friendly staff πŸ’œ

We came to Worsley woods to walk the dog. There’s miles of trails and treks which is great for walking and cycling.

My wife discovered this place around us. It is amazing and has a kids playground. We also fed the Docks at the lake.

Returned to see these woods after 60 years. Used to play in them as a kid. Lots of well made paths now and a play area for kids. Still plenty of muddy tracks too which is my abiding memory of going home covered in mud after playing in Worsley Woods.

Great walk on the loopline. Stick to the path in the winter or you will get muddy. Large paved path arpund the woods. Hidden play area in the woods is good fun too.

Beautiful place to sit and have a sandwich and a coffee before continuing our walk. We come here as often as we can, weather permitting

Nice little walk. The paths get muddy but if you don't mind that, the kids/pets love it. It's a nice little surprise when you just follow the paths and you arrive at the Worsley Delph where you can sit and chill for a little bit.
