my wife and I had an early New Year’s Eve dinner at current. We have been there several times and usually enjoy our dinners, the Set menu was not very exciting. The flavor was very mellow and as you can see by the photos, it’s just not to exciting. The service was outstanding the food was mediocre especially for $95 per person. Will not do that again.

Had an amazing seabass and glazed salmon. The food was fresh very chefs kiss. The ambiance was really nice and cocktails good. Only reason I give 4 stats is because our waitress was a little off...older lady w short hair she just had a very weird vibe towards us we didn't feel welcome or wanted slightly judged but everyone else was great food was worth it all and the Japanese oysters delicious!

We enjoyed an incredible surprise birthday dinner for a dear friend. We booked our reservation ahead of time, and mentioned in the reservation notes that it was a surprise, and they went the extra mile and customized our menus with a "happy birthday" message!! The oysters were incredible, I highly recommend the Miyagi variety, but all 3 varieties were delicious. The ceviche was fresh and spicy, shrimp cocktail was incredible, and our entrees were all flawless. The cocktail selection was great, and dessert and after dinner drinks were the perfect way to wrap up an incredible evening with great friends. The atmosphere was perfect, and our server, Victor, was top notch. We'll definitely be back.

If you love seafood this is the restaurant for you! I had the scallops twice (went to this place 2 nights in a row). Cocktails are delicious, I recommend the Antoinette. Tried 3 desserts - all perfect.

I was part of a large party for a work event, and I will fully admit that I was NOT excited because I am not a lover of seafood, being a native of a landlocked state with poor access to fresh fish. But I was SO pleasantly surprised! The burrata was fantastic and had an excellent flavor profile. I was brave and tried the clam dip, which was pretty tasty. The homemade chips were perfect. I have had salmon dishes I liked, so I ordered the salmon option and was so pleased with it. The texture was wonderful, and the flavors were delicious - no lingering fishy taste. All the vegetables were snappy and fresh. Bread was great. The wine offerings were well received by the party. Our server was kind of knowledgeable but seemed overwhelmed with other large tables, so things were a little on the slow side. Overall, great dinner experience.

Reliable restaurant serving excellent food. I enjoyed the vegan cauliflower dish. I also like the fish taco. The fish and chips and shrimps and grits are good too. The seafood stew, mind you is a few pieces of expertly cooked seafood places on top of some sauce. Beautiful space. Great for dates!

Probably one of the best restaurants in Salt Lake City. It is rare to have a good fish and oyster bar in such an inland town. Delish food, very cool locale and killer drinks.

Black cod was amazing. It was tender and light and delicious, I only wished more came with it. Grilled oysters were very good. My fiance and I split the fries for a side, they came with 3 delicious dipping sauces. Service was impeccable.

Went on a treat with client. Reservations were made just incase it got busy but that was not the case. Staff was friendly, place was clean, foos and service was very good. We had the clam dip with potatoe fries, house made bread, and I opted to try the seafood stew. Not what I expected when I got it but it was very good.

Was a little hesitant about a higher end seafood restaurant in SLC. Current didn't disappoint. Outstanding fresh options and flavor pairings fill up the menu. For starters, the starters' wish could have tried them all from peaking over at the other tables. We went the clam dip served with house made potato chips and doubled down with the focochia. Pro tip this came in handy to scoop up the balance once the chips were gone. The entrees were top-notch featured fish was a perfectly prepared halibut with a pesto gnocchi. The sea scallops in a Asian setting on a rice cake with a delicious ginger sauce, super fresh grilled snap peas, carrots, and shoot mushrooms were spot on. Great balance and not too powerfully to take away from the tasty scallops. The seafood stew west coast style with a coconut lemongrass, Serrano, and peanut brooth made us wish we had more of the focochia around to savor every last bite. We experienced attentive service and quick ticket times. But be prepared as the atmosphere is a little loud.

Went there for the first time a couple weeks ago for my birthday and it was EXCEPTIONAL. I usually find restaurant birthday shout outs a little too much for myself; but here it seemed genuine and not overdone; just an amazing desert brought with perfect timing, hosts that sweetly wished me happy bday on my way in and out, and our server had such a sweet energy and made the night special. He deserves a special shout out, I believe his name was Esham, and I'm so sorry if I got that wrong. He really knew how to direct us through the menu and take his time to explain things. He suggested the fish stew and it was absolutely incredible. The atmosphere was so relaxed and it was really cool to see the open kitchen and watch their flow, they all clearly take pride in their food and seemed to have a good time working together. If I could give this place more than five stars, I absolutely would. Thank you for such an amazing birthday dinner!

Celebrated an early Xmas lunch with friends here. We had excellent customer service. Ordered the burger, fish sandwich, clam chowder, shrimp tacos, and ceviche. Our waiter checked on us often and was super helpful in suggesting menu items.

My partner and I came here for a late Valentine’s dinner. We LOVED it! Hands down one of the best seafood restaurants I have been to. The ceviche was the perfect starter, as well as our favorite dish overall. I had the blue abyss cocktail which was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. The oysters were delicious, and so was the very filling and flavorful Current’s fish stew. Aside from the tasty food, we were very lucky to have Ehsan as our server. Ehsan was very informative and friendly. He made sure that we were enjoying ourselves. I would love to come back in the future and try the rest of the menu items. I would highly recommend this place to any seafood lover.

We went on a Sunday night that happened to be mother's day and also my wife's birthday. The place was busy and overall looked nice. It's a pricy place but the food was pretty good. I ordered a Prime NY steak well-done but it came still with some pink, still most places don't know how to make a well done steak that is both tender and zero Pink but I enjoyed my steak. Appetizers were all excellent, we had the calamari and the octopus and the mussels. Clam chowder was also really good. Desserts were also yummy, we ordered the affogato and the chocolate cake. Drinks were awful though, we had the Pineapple Mimosa and you cannot taste the pineapple, they use a syrup and I had to asked for more. The champagne they used was also terrible. The peach drink was better but it too used the terrible champagne so it wasn't much better. The worse part of the experience, which was overall positive, was the restrooms. For a nice high end restaurant they had the worst restrooms I have seen in awhile. I would recommend the place for its food and the service was excellent.

It was a 50/50 success during lunch hence three stars. The appetizer of Grilled Calamari was absolutely delicious. The combination with aioli sauce, the pineapple, fingerling potatoes was fantastic. Even though I would say there were a bit too many potatoes versus calamari. I ordered the fish stew for main course. And walked away quite dissatisfied. The broth was tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. The salmon in dish did not taste right and I threw it away with mussel shells (didn’t want to get sick). The shrimp was also sub par. The only thing worth remembering was the good taste of peanuts and vegetables. If vegetables and peanuts taste better than the seafood, I am not sure if I will call it a good seafood dish. I also ordered a cocktail but it was rather on a very small size. Paid $80 for all three with tips which is not terrible but I wish the fish stew was prepared better.

I am very glad I found a good place to go. It was one of the best restaurants I have been to in SLC so far. The food are so delicious. The ambiance is casual and great. Not too noisy. Great for a night out. Except for me, all tables had drinks. Big bar selection. I love this place.

One of my favorite places in Salt Lake, a crisp and welcoming spot for a date night, a nice dinner out, or to take your parents. Delicious plates as well, personal favorite is the salmon, that soy teriyaki flavor in the perfectly cooked tender inside under the slightly crunchy crispy outside layer, it just gets me goin.... anyways, everything about this place just screams that your check will punch a hole through your wallet but it is absolutely worth it, super staff with good recommendations, friendly service, with timely service with and clean and dependable clearing. We will be back for the salmon again

Delicious and fresh seafood. We came in here for my mom's birthday and it was absolutely incredible. The hamachi starter was delicate and fresh. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The sea bass was flavored so well. And save room for the desserts. We got 4 (there were 3 of us) and it was marvelous. The passion fruit and yuzu were my favorite. The guava cheesecake didn't taste like guava. Our service was a bit on the slow side with a few hiccups but otherwise delicious meal.

The pros: Fries are awesome, some of the best I’ve had, and they come with three delicious sauces. Not sure why the side of fries was so big. I usually don’t like sharing but this could be easily shared. The portion is massive. We loved it. The side salad is tiny but delicious and fresh. It could come with more toppings and it would be even better. The desserts were amazing. The tiramisu especially. So light and rich at the same time. The guava cheesecake was similarly delicious—light and flavorful. The cons: I was not a fan of the shrimp tacos. The shrimp were well cooked but the spices they used were laid on too thick and not that great—flavor medley was off. Also, I would’ve preferred a corn tortilla over the flour one. I really don’t like flour tortillas for my tacos and although they seem made fresh in house, they were just meh.

My Hubby’s favorite place to eat when in SL, I finally had the opportunity to join him. What a wonderful dining experience in this historic old structure updated beautifully to allow natural light. We are on the patio which is beautifully decorated with greenery. The add on of lobster made the curry cauliflower perfect! Enjoy

Went for lunch and it was truly very good. The grilled oysters were my favorite, and there selection of east and west coast oysters was awesome! A little pricey, but the taste makes up for it!

We sat curb side to enjoy the weather. Service was great, even when my child spilled their beverage all over the floor. The crab cakes were delicious, the aioli is needed to add that extra flavor level. The fries are dang good, we love the sauce options. Ketchup is great but we enjoy the variety. Besides the great food, you won't go thirsty here. There are two full menus of spirits and wine.

Incredible ingredients and excellent preparation. Every item was fresh and cooked to perfection- some of the best seafood I've had in recent memory. Took 6 clients to dinner and everyone raved about their dishes. Service was a touch slow out the gate but decently attentive. Would definitely come back!

Best seafood I've had since being in France! I would give this place 100 stars if I could. Every single bite of food was perfect. Luis at the bar was amazing and such a great personality to add to our experience. So impressed with the seared calamari..not breaded...not fried. Order the octopus rare. Excellent house wines and espresso martinis.

FINALLY after years of eye balling this place, we came to Current for 11th Anniversary. It definitely did not disappoint. The menu detail was adorable!Bobbi was such a great waitress, gave us endless options. She was very knowledgeable & patient with all the questions we had. Ryan was so kind, made us feel welcomed & special. The vibe is nothing less than beautiful. Casual lighting, good music, private dining. Cocktails were spot on, delicious. Food was AMAZING to say the least. My favorite had to be the different oysters on the seafood tower. Compliments to the chefs! Will probably be our Anniversary staple & more. Thank you all for making our evening so lovely.✨

We are from out of state, and got invited here for dinner. It is nice to have an higher end dinning experience in Utah. Food was great, atmosphere was equally impressive. We would eat there again.
