The Gateway was nice. It has a few restaurants there and the prices are reasonable. I had the fish sandwich which was really good and its next to the Lobster restaurantand across from the chicken sandwich place (pics attached). The outdoor seating area was really nice (if it's nice outside) which it was beautiful the day I went which was March 30, 2022. A nice little walking area just to get out and do something and close to the downtown hotels .

It is a beautiful place that is just fun to walk around in if you're ever given the chance as well as food anywhere you could want it and fun arcade at Dave and busters and a planetarium extremely close as well as super easy access from the train! A must-see in utah if ever given the chance!

What a beautiful place to visit so many social stops to engage in all kinds of little things that peak your interest. Great food options and spread out just enough. Decorated so awesome and colorful. Hallpass was nice as well

It's a lovely setting that's enjoyable to stroll through or to relax and chat by the flames. Kids enjoyed the big seesaws and splash pad. It's a short walk from the train or SLC downtown. A fun place to spend an hour or two when you have the time in SLC.

We were visiting on a Wednesday afternoon. It is a VERY nice landscaped area with lots of seating areas and things to do. It was almost uninhabited, a great place for a walk. Much cleaner than Seattle and Portland. Probably much more crowded on weekends.

We went there for the Exotic Car Show and it was a blast! The mood and feeling of Gateway in general was pretty cool. I haven't been there for a long time and certainly not at evening. I recommend it is a great place for date nights and for family. Something for everybody in a great atmosphere!

Super fun place for kids basically any age. Went on a Sunday and it was pretty slow there so that was good since my daughter is only 2. She went to every station they had and was loving it. They have a little house with a kitchen and all the appliances, a farm with a life sized horse in a stable and then a mini market with registers to check out. Super cute! My daughter had a blast. Will definitely be back.

The artwork around the mall is delightful! It's one of the main attractions. The zombie statue was tight! Otherwise, many of the shops and restaurants are closed, at 7:30 pm on a Wed. When there is an event at the area next door! I was kind of surprised. However the parking was pretty full, because they let people park in the lot for the jazz game. Overall, had a great time at yoga! It keeps me coming back!

I haven't been here in years, and all i can say is the way they remodeled and painted the place is outstanding. The atmosphere is lively and is even better at night. There was even car shows. I wasn't able to visit most of the shops, but either way, it was great to venture back into the gateway born anew.

I love to come to this place but not because just shopping. Literally for me shopping at this place is secondary. The Gateway is a place created with imagination outside the box, compared with the rest of the malls in Utah. This is really a place to enjoy, especially those with kids, they really see the fun at this place, and... you can do the same things than the other malls, shop, eat, watch a movie.

Lots to do here. Very clean place. Quite a few homeless people hanging around and sleeping on the outskirts but overall very nice

Good place for events but not many stores are left there. The mall has become an event center. All kind of different events are there. It's a fun interesting place to walk around because of that. A lot of the stores have converted into galleries or other small businesses one of the large stores have been converted into our workshare center.

I have only been to the gateway a handful of times, but everytime I have been it's been an awesome experience. Yeah you're gonna have your homeless around the area that is a city feel gonna leave politics out of that. You are also gonna have some loud drunks from time to time that's what you get with amateur drinkers, I remember my first beer too. All in all a great place to host events. Great stores and entertainment around. Keep the flow of social interaction get off your phones and go mingle in society.

It's a beautiful space, very sad to see how empty it was. All of the major retailers have pulled out. A few mom and pop type stores remain, as well as a few good food options but overall it's kind of a graveyard. Very sad. Very beautiful.

Love it here, never crowded! There are not a lot of shops like there used to be because of the other mall they built, but it will be great to walk around outside when I'm old and get lost wondering where all the shops went.

Super fun place to visit! So many cool Stores and things to do. It was a little quiet. Not a lot of people. There is fountains and a cute little candy store. There is hotels and the Planetarium along with some restaurants and the Dave & Busters arcade with s restaurant in it! Overall my family loved it!

We went to the Children's museum. A few of the outside exhibits were closed. There were so many fun exhibits for the kids to explore. I would buy a pass if I lived closer

First time in years that I have walked through The Gateway. Sad to see how many stores have left for greener pastures for the almighty dollar. I look forward to the day when The Gateway thrives again. It was a very pleasant walk with my sweetheart looking at the Christmas lights.

Food was good, but Very pricey. I thoroughly enjoyed my main dish, the sides were standard quality. Great atmosphere and their specialty drinks were phenomenal.

The Gateway is a unique outside area for dining, entertainment, shopping, and community events. It’s located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City and was a short walk from the convention center. I was at a conference and the only time I had to explore the city was on a Sunday. I quickly learned that most of the stores and restaurants are closed on Sundays due to a state law from the 1800s. However I was able to find 2 open stores so it wasn’t a total bust. This place looks like it would be really fun on any other day of the week. Mark this place as a must see when visiting Salt Lake City.

We went to the planetarium. We parked in the Gateway mall parking. It was cold outside when walking from parking to the planetarium, but the space between has some fun looking swings and big, rounded edge, plastic seats. And our children love the escalators. We didn't look at the stores there, but we passed several.

Went to Dave and Busters for a hot date and the food was so good and the price was just right. Make reservations to get your table if you don’t want to wait for a bit. The waiter was new but we’ll polite and very respectful to us.

The gateway is the place to go in downtown SLC if you are into art or dining. It's the art district, when asked to describe it. Throughout the year there are many events that bring life to the already wonderfully decorated area.

I watched a movie there, and the reception was good. There was a large snack and drink station available for purchasing refreshments to enjoy during the film. The restrooms were clean, and there were no issues with crowd management. However, I encountered three problems: Firstly, the sound quality was a tiny bit lower than expected and it didn’t have a high clarity. Secondly, I experienced a very strange and frustrating confusion. In the auditorium, there are two doors at the front. One is the main exit leading to the restrooms and ticket check, and the other is a direct exit to the street. When I wanted to go to the restroom, I mistakenly took the second exit, marked only with a large green exit sign without any description, and found myself in a long, spooky hallway with door after door. After passing through three doors and finding myself unable to return through them, I continued forward. I ended up in a closed-off part of the cinema and eventually made my way to the street, only to find myself on the opposite side of the building. I had to walk around to reenter the cinema and pass the ticket check again without a ticket. Thankfully, the attendant was aware of the issue and let me pass to return to the auditorium. He mentioned that many people make the same mistake. This was one of the most confusing and bizarre situations I have ever experienced. Third and last, the seats were not entirely comfortable. When you leaned the seat back and laid on it, and someone needed to pass by, you had to bend your feet and then stretch them out again afterward. This was a bit uncomfortable, (I have an average height).

Our daughtern’law was a vendor at The Gateway Market, super cute and fun! Very hot tho, but they splash pad was going so it cooled it a little. We grabbed a few sodas at Rocket Fizz, best candy store! I love The Gateway Mall!

The Megaplex will validate parking so use the south parking garage if you're seeing a movie. They have the first adult sized songs I've ever seen which was fun a totally romantic. It's a shame everything closes so early in this city, though. Nothing was open after our movie.

Ok we had a great time but I have it 4 stars because lots of people had to return to their cars to bring their purse back to their cars or they had to go check them in and not get them till the end of the concert. None of us knew we couldn't bring purses till we arrived at the door to go in. The parking was crazy and at the end of the concert the line was very long to retrieve your purse. Also the arena itself has a pretty steep grade. Climbing the steps to the nose bleeds needs to be done with caution. Comfortable shoes are recommended for the walk from your car and to get to your seat. All that being said we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our concert immensely. The building was clean the staff were nice. The flow getting out was pretty fast.

  • 5/5 Zach P. 3 years ago on Google
Better than the city Creek mall. I just feel like the gateway uses it's space more effectively and has more of a mall feel to it. There's an arcade Dave and Buster's, sweet shops, restaurants, the planetarium is next to it and there are plenty of little things you can discover inside it that you cant at City Creek

  • 5/5 Furniture S. 3 years ago on Google
Wow I can’t explain the feeling of everything at your fingertips but the Gateway definitely gives you that feeling. The park and restaurants along with the stores are absolutely amazing. We are from Vegas and found this place to be surreal.

  • 5/5 Ella C. 4 years ago on Google
So much fun in one place. The staff at the ticket desk and at concessions were very nice and very helpful. We also enjoyed IMAX 3D movie about Dinosaurs and the Hansen Dome movie The Edge. It was entertaining enough for a 3 and a 5 year old. All the interactive stations are fun for kids and adults. We enjoyed the remote controlled Mars rovers, weighting ourselves, playing with the green screen, with the infrared camera, gravity screen , dry ice display etc. We will be coming back.

It's okay, they have some interesting things to do though most of it is closed for the pandemic. The new owners are trying VERY hard. I grew up in this mall. Spent literal days of my life reading comics in the Barnes and Nobles, tried makeup for the first time from the Victoria secret. Hung out with my first loves at the Hot Topic. To walk through it now is kind of like wandering through a skeleton, only all the bones have been painstakingly repainted by well-meaning artists, breathing life into what would otherwise be a broken, corporate, wasteland. I think the feeling of abject loss is palpable against the time-battered design of the architecture and the new businesses struggling to keep the fires burning.

First time going today, but already near the top of all indoor play places for my kids. The entrance price can be is a bit steep, but fortunately my total today was well worth it. They have so many areas of play this place is A LOT bigger than it looks from the outside. It felt as if you combined the museum of natural curiosity and the children's museum in St. George and this is what you would get. So many things to do...my kids weren't even close to wanting to leave after three hours, but we had already hit the conveniently close Clark Planetarium just before.

This is a great collection of shops, stores, and restaurants in Salt Lake City Ut. Used to be full, but now during COVID even more places are gone. Such a shame, this is very nice place to shop, walk, eat, and have fun. Try this place out, it still has plenty to do, during all seasons. Nice atmosphere.

Vacant, yet beautiful, like the Grand Canyon. What once was, is haunted through the economic tsunami of a virus from Wuhan. The Gateway will be renewed, and sound of footsteps and gossip, in due time...in due time. Alas, Zumiez was yet to be found there, by yours truly.
