Great food and service! They even explain the different components of platters and sauces to you. Just be careful if you are one of the unfortunate individuals that can't stand the taste of cilantro. Several dishes have fresh cilantro sprinkled on top. Given how nice their service is, I'm sure they'll make sure to not out that on your dish if you talk to them beforehand.

I was craving Indian food, so I visited this place during my trip to Salzburg. Surprisingly, I was the only Indian there, and the place was full of locals. The food here was top-notch. I tried chickpeas with naan, rice, and mango lassi. They even offered complimentary onion and lemon for the salad, which made me even happier. We even had a small chat with the owner, and everything was amazing. This is undoubtedly the best Indian restaurant in Salzburg, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone craving Indian food.

One of the best Indian Restaurants in Europe! Been traveling across Europe for over a month, have tried several Indian restaurants. This one is the best by a huge margin. Tastes like back home. Cherry on top, the only Indian restaurant that served free onion salad and water. A must must must visit if you're in Salzburg.

A perfect meal! The food was so amazing, we wanted to just keep eating, even though we were full! We ordered the butter chicken, Bombay chicken, garlic nan, matar paneer! Reasonable prices, fast service.

The food tastes great, and the restaurant owner is a very friendly person. We tried chicken briyani, prawn briyani, and lamb briyani. All 3 dishes were cooked well and tasty. It's not very spicy and the meat is very nicely cooked. Also tried the herbal tea, tastes good and very refreshing after eating heavy meals. Highly recommended this restaurant for whoever wants to eat Indian food.

Worth the visit!! We were here about 7 years ago and we were here again. This time we ordered the Thali for 2. The restaurant was flexible enough to adapt the menu based on our request. So, we had a Butter Chicken, Murg Tikka Masala and Dal Makhani. Preparation was suitable to the Indian taste, loved it.

Very nice place! Service is quick, dishes are really tasty, and staff is friendly even if they're in the rush. I'm vegetarian so I had the samossas and the lentil soup, both were really good. I recommend!

One of the best Indian food across Europe. It has amazing authentic taste. The owners are very warm and ensure service level is at its best. They personally ensure one is comfortable, make guests feel warm enough and ensure feedback is taken on food. Highly recommended. Please make booking in advance for dinner as it can get really busy then.

Good authentic Indian tasty food & owner Bharat Bhusan gives personalized service. We enjoyed eating here and will go back again for lunch or dinner. Reservation is required but not mandatory. Prices are reasonable and worth trying if you're in Salzburg. Little waiting is required for ordering and getting fresh food on table. Highly recommended.

I would say, very authentic Indian food. One of the best we ever tasted in Entire Europe. I would highly recommend you to visit and try any cuisine and I assure you you will find them best in taste. Lovely ambiance however, you need to book a place in advance as it's always full. The owner is really humble and you will appreciate his hospitality.

A very good Indian restaurant in Salzburg. The food was very taste. Make sure you book a table before going or you will have to wait more than an hour to get a table. The owner is super friendly. The staff was also good and kept asking if we require anything or if everything was good. Overall very nice restaurant and can be visited on your trip to Salzburg.

Superb food and hospitality from the owner and the whole team. Made me feel home away from home. Best part was yummy food and generally gesture of water full of jug which is usually missing all over Europe and they also offered us a complimentary rice as well. All over 5 star, totally deserving

The best Indian restaurant in Salzburg hands down! Not only they have very nice food delivery, I absolutely recommend you to make a reservation and go there for a nice experience! The staff are extremely friendly, the owner keeps coming to the guests to check up on them and the food is absolutely authentic and delicious, packed with flavors and spiciness. :D

The quality of food is impressive as well as the taste. Chicken Beryani and lamb Beryani as well as Chicken Tikka in curry sauce, Naan, yoghurt cucumber sauce and vegetarian samosa, all taste genuine and delicious. It is definitely worth the price paid. Polite and friendly staff reflects good culture. We came twice for dinner during our Salzburg trip. Keep up the good work.

We had our fill of Austrian food during our trip across Austria so being British decided to hop on google and look for a decent Indian. Taj Mahal did not disappoint, myself and my partner ordered the Karahai with rice and some garlic naans. If your into you're into your curry then this is something you have to try. Flavours and portions size was on point too! Looked like a family run restaurant with amazing service and cool atmosphere. Deffo stop by here if you fancy an Indian in Salzburg.

The food was so good that we had our dinner there two days in a row during our short trip to Salzburg. The Indian food is really authentic. If you can take Asian level of spiciness, I would highly recommend the house specialty prawn (sorry I forgot the name of the dish). The garlic naan and mango lassi are very good too.

Indian restaurant authentic enough to cheer you up Pros- Place is clean, hygienic, cost to food quality + quantity ratio is good, Near to city centre, They accept card payments. Cons- Very busy, Have to reserve the seat in advance or else you have to wait in a Queue, Only north delicacy is available, waiters could be less attentive due to the crowd. If you want to take your date here. Do it in less busy hours. I ordered spicy but my friend got served spicy food. Clearly waiter was not attentive to the information. My lamb biriyani was good, With sweet cheese balls. I

A staff member from our hotel recommended this place and we we so glad he did. Wonderful atmosphere, great food, awesome service! Was so excited to eat Indian cuisine as we had been traveling a lot so we forgot to take more photos. Their tandoori lamb was so good and tender. The chicken tikka masala had just the right level spice!

This food is absolutely fantastic!! It is so good that we came two nights in a row, and would likely have come again were it not for our already existing plans. This is a must visit restaurant, I cannot recommend it enough!

The food was delicious and service was also promt. Highly recommend especially Kadhai Paneer and Matar Paneer were at its best along with Mango Lassi to lower down some hot gravy.

Best Indian food we have eaten so far in Europe. We tried Paneer Kadhai, it was delicious! The ‘Turbo Naan’ which is the invention of this restaurant, is a must try for the people who like spicy food 😋 The ambiance is excellent and showcases Indian culture. The staff and the owner of the restaurant is super friendly! I wish we had more restaurants like this in Germany.

It’s a very busy restaurant and we were able to get the table at both the times, we visited. Malai kofta tasted at its best 🫠 However chilly Parota was stuffed only with green chillies and without corianders as per the menu descriptions.🌶️ On 2nd time visit, we tried chicken Biryani and were slightly disappointed as it wasn’t authentic as of Hyderabadi Biryani🐓😕

We reached here based on google reviews. As we went without reservation on weekend evening , took good 20 mins get a table. Took another 20 mins to take the order. Took almost an hour to serve food ( just two main courses) Coming to the food , as an Indian I personally don't find serving curry dishes like butter chicken etc with rice , In India we usually prefer most north Indian curries with bread(naan/paratha) . The Tikka masala they made was something very different than we expect . The tandoori chicken was more like grilled chicken lacking flavours. The firni was passable. The owner was very hospitable and attended each table personally taking feedback which is appreciated. Food - 3.5/5 (as per european standards) Service -3/5 (owing to the long delay) ambience - 3/5 Value for money - 3/5

The food was DELICIOUS it was the best Indian food I’ve ever had in a very long time (and I’m Indian). Great ambience, nice workers, very good menu. The host was so nice and helpful with dietary restrictions (vegetarian/no onion garlic) and getting us a table despite having no reservation. Would suggest to reserve beforehand though as it gets busy.

I wasn't expecting to find such a fantastic Indian restaurant in Salzburg; I was pleasantly surprised! Coming from America, I know a number of great Indian restaurants, and this was just as good as any of them. Also, as a foreigner with a severe gluten, their menu is easy to read / order something safe. Vegans are definitely gonna be happy here as well!

Great food, good service. The restaurant was super full and it seems super popular. They told us in advance the food will take time as they are super full, but very smartly they under promised and over delivered, and the food didn’t take as long as the gentleman said it would. Food had a very authentic Indian taste. Can see why this place is so popular and highly rated. We over ordered a bit otherwise would would have been cheaper.

Update: Inzwischen waren wir wieder ein paar Mal im Taj Mahal und es war alles zu unserer besten Zufriedenheit. Alle sind sehr bemüht, dass die Gäste zufrieden sind und sind sehr freundlich. Das Essen wurde uns auf Wunsch in den Schälchen serviert und war schnell fertig. Wir fühlen uns sehr wohl dort und genießen das leckere Essen. Jederzeit weiter zu empfehlen wenn ihr auf der Suche nach gutem indischen Essen seid.
