Went there on a weekday and it was a perfect timing to be there. Very few guests, tranquil ambiance, pristine sand, view was awesome, weather was great. Food was delectable. Can't remember how many times anyone from our group said a word about how charming the place was ---- both shouted and whispered. They have free boat transfers on peak days (Sat and Sun). On other days, you have to travel by land (and then ofcourse, ferry), if you are going by group and want to skip the line for ferry, you can get there in less than 10 minutes by speed boat. Rent is Php 3,000 back and forth, but worth the experience.

Facilities/Beach 3/5 Itโ€™s a beautiful property. Considering that it rivals some of the resorts that are close to the dock, the clean, modern, white paint aesthetic sets them apart. Plenty of tables, chairs, umbrellas, chaise lounges, etc. Love that the kiddle and adult pool are next to each other. Generous sized adult pool however it is only 4โ€™ throughout and there were NO DIVING signs to be found. The beach was quiet, nestled between 2 small docks. Note that the water can get shallow in the afternoon evenings so we were only able to get in the water/beach the next morning as the tide was all the way up to the shore. Thoroughly enjoyed the beach and the Talisay trees covering the chaise lounges. WIFI: There is no wifi in the rooms. Only in the restaurant/lobby area. This was a huge let down they didnโ€™t disclose anywhere. NO LIFE GUARD ON DUTY. This is a safety concern that needs to be addressed. Rooms 3/5 Stayed in room 215, a corner deluxe king bed room featuring a balcony with a pool view. Key card entry worked well. AC is window unit and was easy to navigate with a remote control. Bathrooms were ok. Water pressure was great. Comfy sheets, bed, and pillows. Beware that because this side of the hotel is right next to bamboo trees, there are BIRDS aggressively humming/singing/chirping very early in the morning making it difficult to sleep in. The rest of our families around rooms 204-206 seemed to be fine. Food 4/5 The complimentary breakfast was fantastic even though plated/limited. They offer hot cocoa that is extra charge but was well worth it. You pick and choose breakfast food the night before (making it limited) and they bring it out to you fresh once you sit down. Mango shakes were also to die for. So good! All the traditional Filipino food were fantastic as well. Minus one starโ€”Dinner: If you wanted dinner served in the beach area, itโ€™s extra 1500PHP for service charge. The restaurant is on the second floor of the building. We thought this was ridiculous but it only gets worse. Check in/out 2/5 We booked a total of 4 rooms, all on the same building. After long back and forth emails with booking staff, they still somehow managed to mess up the room arrangements. I thought it was ridiculous that they had me write down all 14 guest names with each corresponding guest rooms after a long trek to the resort from Kaputian. It was expected that they would have this handy from all the emails weโ€™ve exchanged but I guess the resort and corporate/booking staff do not communicate well. At check out, we were told we were missing 2 towels (1 beach towel, 1 face towel) upon inventory โ€” the cost was beyond my comprehension โ€” 2,000PHP. We politely asked for a late check out pretty early around 9-10am so the kids can enjoy the pool/beach. We even ordered lunch to make up for lost time as we arrived late during check out around 4PM. To my dismay, we were informed that THERE IS A LATE CHECKOUT FEE of 300PHP for each room. UNHEARD OF! We told them no, thank you - returned to our rooms and packed hurriedly. It was quite stressful knowing every move you make in this resort could cost you money for things that could easily add value to the resort experience. Staff 3/5 I want to point out that the resort staff are fantastic. All attentive, willing to take photos, bring us water at the beach, friendly and quiet. I think where the issue lies is CORPORATE. The resort staff are bound to these rules and we understand that they have to abide. But the issues of costs piling up from simple requests just seemed unreasonable after already paying so much for mediocre resort experience for the value of money. Rounding up to a generous 3/5 for the entire experience. Not sure if weโ€™re coming back. Not sure if we would recommend to family/friends right off the bat. It looks great in photos though.

Place is nice and clean. Well maintained, staff are friendly as well. The food is OK, not bad but not great. I did not enjoy the pool that much since itโ€™s only 4feet. Thereโ€™s not much to do here unless youโ€™re staying for the night. Their part of the beach needs improvement though, itโ€™s covered with sea weeds.

Over all experience is Great, but earlier before Check out we almost witnessed a child die by Drowning in the Pool and no attending life guard was keen on looking over the pool especially the children's pool area where they can easily hop off to go to the deeper parts of the pool. The mother had to scramble with her full clothes on to save the child, and only then when staff from the establishment stepped in to attend to the unconscious child.

2019 ... its nice place if there's a few guest... but if its filled up... it gets to noisy and its not a relaxing atmosphere anymore... I wish it had more food choices in the menus 2022... meal time surprisingly better waiter attention to serice, better room service.. am glad of the changes.

we will surely come back. It's a bit expensive but really worth it. great service and neat room. unlike other resorts we tried, they will give you 3 choices of breakfast menu for an advance order after downpayment confirmation. But in our experience, we had a buffet style breakfast, a combo of filipino and continental style, from 6am to 10am. menu for evening and lunch dining at restaurant, we had an average bill for 2 pax of 1,200. take note that their menu is good for 2 pax serving. we booked a deluxe room for 2 days and 1 night for 8,400. 50% downpayment was needed upon booking. We booked on Sunday to Monday, and on sunday evening they had a live band in their bar area. very chill and relaxing time. we really like the beach, preferably swim during high tide after lunch until 6pm closing of beach. The overall experience is 10/10.

One of the finest new resorts in Samal Island that really gave me the best experience. First i'll discuss the Architecture of the whole resort, they really did excellent on the Modern-tropical look and ambience of the whole resort, starting with their balustrades and the layout of the building encircling the infinity pool. The lobby had a really nice welcome and as well as gave us the impression that staying in the resort will be a promising experience, the receptionists are really nice, hospitable, and professional in what they do too. The pool side gave a really nice experience as to how they provided sun loungers in and out of the pool along with the tables on the side. The restrooms, towel area, and showers are also carefully thought of and was immediately accessible at the same time of not becoming disruptive to the experience. As for the food, I haven't had the full experience aside from the lunch set that we had but i'll rate it as a mid-tier quality set of dishes, but the bar and snack truck that they had on the beach front was really nice by having a wide-range of choices and as well as quality liquor. The beach access lacked the visible stairs from the resort to the natural sand area in which could disrupt the experience and safety. I think they can improve more on this aspect of the resort by showing it visibly. The hospitality and management of the resort was really topnotch and it made us love the resort overall, in which made us think to come back someday. As said, i'm going to rate this resort a 5-star review for the overall experience it gave on our visit.

Need to clean the beach of sea weeds on the ground in the water to be cleaner. But the pool next to the room is good. Live band, they only give you 2 small bottles of water.

Fantastic resort, certainly on the more expensive side, you will have many great areas to take pictures and there are lots of amenities to enjoy if you like beach, pool, and lounging

We had a great time here at Club Samal. The people working here are very friendly and accomodating. Their foods are really good! Delicious and more than 1 servings. I think the price is worth it. They have a decent room as well. But my only complain is they don't provide a hairdryer as indicated in ths incluaions. Other than that, Overall, we're very satisfied.

I love staying at Club Samal. My kids enojoyed it so much. Friendly and accomodating staff. The poolside room is big and clean, linens were luxurious and comfortable, making relaxing in the room a sumptuous treat. The food in the restaurant is divine, especially the pork sinigang perfect for the cold night stay there after dipping in the gorgeous pool. It was also paired with live music so the experience is impeccable. We will definitely gonna go back there again soon. ๐Ÿ˜ Thank you for accommodating us! See you soon!

Enjoyed the place. Great service. Had fun spending the new year of 2023 with Club Samal. Pool is amazing. And itโ€™s great to have your kids swim and play in the kidโ€™s pool. We had an easy transportation service via Davao Beach Club

Speed boat Ride 3k for 10 pax Roundtrip, Pool is clean but for me not so enjoyable coz it's a 4feet only๐Ÿ˜ but it is nice to others. Beach is clean and well maintained, some guest complain about the Seagrass not knowing that the seagrass is the Vitamins of the Ocean besides not a long length seagrass just very short and felts like a carpet ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜ No need to wear aquashoes coz the shoreline and the beach itself has a very Powdery white sand. ๐Ÿฅฐ

This place have an expensive DAY TOUR rate compared to others and the food is not even worth it!!!They have only plated meal and thatโ€™s for a 1,300 pesos Day Tour Rate. Not the same like the other resorts that you can have buffet or consumable price for the food. Like one plated meal!!! If u look at it, it will cost like 300 pesos. One viand, one rice, small cuts of vegetable, soup and fruit desserts. And the food doesnโ€™t even taste nice. I only thing I like from the resort at least is the Staffs and look of the pool. But the pool is not even deep enough to swim. Itโ€™s like a kidโ€™s pool. So disappointed. And oh by the way, the pool has a lot of sand! And I heard that too from alot of people. Like seriously. Clean it up! Secdea and chemas almost have the same rate for day tour but the food was worth it by the way. U can have buffet or it will be consumable. ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป

Place was really nice. Room was spacious, clean and very relaxing. Pool was great for hanging out and just dipping but you can also do laps (if there's not a lot of people swimming). Accommodates both kids and adult swimmers. Service was OK, nothing mind blowing. But their food was good. Breakfast buffet was nothing special but again their food was cooked well. Highly recommended place to spend a night or two when in Davao. They also offer a day trip.

It's a great-looking spot, and the pool is wonderful. The service--the people are courteous, but they seem to be sticklers for the rules, like you can't bring your lunch to the beachside, etc. Also the food served during lunch for the day tour is mediocre.

We always comeback to this place because of the friendly staff and peaceful ambiance plus the rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff from the guard until the receptionist are very accommodating. Yes, it might be a bit more expensive than other resorts but you're definitely getting more than what you paid for! Me and my family mostly have tried all the resorts in Samal and so far this was one of the best and relaxing place we always comeback to. This was our second time going here but definitely not the last.โ™ฅ๏ธ

We had a day tour costing 980/pax. The staff was exceptional. They were kind and respectful, so are other guests. We had fun. But too bad it was low tide. I was not able to freely enjoy swimming but did enjoy seeing tiny creatures of the sea.

5 star for the Service 5 star for amenities. Thank you to all employees for your very warm service I like how knowledgeable they are, answers on point if I ask something. We were given a complimentary drink when we arrived. I love the Nespresso Machine with pods in the room! The room is aesthetically designed with neutral colors. They have unlimited bbq at night with live band playing. The bbq was soooo good! The complimentary breakfast was delicious, kudos to the chef. Variety of food was offered as well. I will recommend this to friends and family.

Wonderful rooms and service. Great location, very easy access from Davao. No Wi-Fi. Nice beach and view, good service even with no elevator. Very good price, great value.

  • 5/5 Nylan E. 2 years ago on Google
Room: its clean and I love the view of the pool and the sea. We had a great time.Better to get the rooms on the second floor or the upper part as they gave great views of the place at night. Food: All food I think is for 2-4 person, great food, nice service. Love all the vegetable dishes. They even converted our breakfast to buffet and it was really good. They have band with great oldies songs at night while dinner at the beach. The area is not crowded by the time we went there. They have limited coastline but still ok. Cost wise I think its a bit pricey but still good. All in all it was a great weekend!

Customer service was superb. Breakfast was ok nothing extra ordinary. My 2 year old son loved the pool was just right for him. So the pool was perfect for toddlers. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Too bad no wifi in the rooms but not a deal breaker.

The hotel staffs are awesome! The place is clean and spacious..Only one thing we don't like is they don't regularly check the facilities if they were well maintained. Over all was a great experience!!!

All of the meals that was served to us were purely delicious and was in generous servings. The service was also excellent. We loved the amenities and the view, everything was aesthetic and felt like paradise, an escape from city life.

If you just want to lounge around all day around a pool, then this place is great. Their beach isn't that amazing because the beach strip is short and your view is the Port of samal and there's limited space to swim around but other than that, our experience was great. I like their day tour. It costs 1300php per person which includes a free lunch with a drink and dessert with unlimited access to the pool and beach. They were also gracious enough to let us use their fridge to store our store bought cake. Suggestion to the management: sell soap and shampoo and other toiletries at their front desk for a better experience.

Food isn't good and I wasn't so keen on their 'holy week promo' wherein we paid a significantly lower amount for Wednesday but Thursday was a higher rate for the SAME ROOM. I have not experienced different room rates per night in other resorts. You need to pay for early check in. There's no free boat ride to the island. We had to book a speed boat for Php2,000 plus.

If you are with kids the place is okay(pool). But if you are finding a place for good swimming in the beach this place is not recommended. The beach line is not that clean, its small, lubog ang dagat. Place wasnโ€™t what I expect, turns out to be small. Food nothing special. Service was a little bit slow(F&B and bar) Plus pinaka dismayed, the glass wine was plastic, even the water glass is plastic. Ang doorknob sa room where we stayed was not working well. The only thing i liked was the complimentary slippers and the bluetooth speaker inside the room. Dili worth ang gibayad sa gistayhan.

Superb service as expected since it was quite pricey. Rooms are big and clean. Food was a bit pricey though. Wifi is not accessible inside rooms too. Pool is great, beach is just fine. They offered massage and we were excited to try it but thereโ€™s no available at the moment ๐Ÿ˜…

Very nice place to stay but 2 nights is not enough, we need to stay 4 nights next time. The rooms are big we got the premier room. One thing that would make me give 5 stars is if they had a swimming pool.
