This resort is perfect. The location is beautiful, and very true to the pictures on the website! We had a great stay. The staff are very nice and attentive. Fernando the bartender at the beach bar always made sure we had everything we needed and regularly checked on us (and everyone around). Jida was just amazing and very attentive. She would always check on us during every meal, and even taught us some Spanish! She was one of the best! Overall a great experience and can't wait to go back!

This is an unusual place. This is not a resort, this is a very well maintained old and beautifull hotel. It has fantastic view from any room. Place - very good, just across from the city, it make gorgeous view at night time. Room - just regular size of hotel room, I prefer it bigger, but I am not sure if all the rooms at the same size. Bed and pillows are comfortable. Beach - very small, sand is not white, but it is always clean and there are no waves and water is hot. Staff - helpful and friendly Food and restaurants - fresh, big choice, not fantastic, but good. Alcohol- good, but the vine better in lobby bar, because in other places they mix it with vater, it makes the taste completely different ☹. Intertainment - very good. Spa - best massage ever!!!

Can’t say anything bad about this place. The food is beyond incredible and there’s a different theme for the buffet every night so it’s not repetitive. The staff are funny, kind, and helpful and the views from the hotel are jaw dropping. Other than the pool and beach there’s not too much to do around the hotel but they have super cool entertainment every night!! Would highly recommend.

This resort is amazing! It’s in a beautiful location and there’s always something to do. The staff is lovely, especially Deylin and Daniel! They run the entertainment activities and are always trying to make sure every guest has a great time. They bring an infectious energy by always being around socializing, smiling, and dancing with the guests! The rooms are gorgeous and very spacious. The room service, laundry service, and maid service are all very thorough and speedy. I couldn’t recommend Bahia Principe Luxury Samana enough! We’ll be back!

This resort is luxurious, held in a high standard, and has excellent food / views. The quality of the drinks were great as well. My experience is different than most that may be heading here though, as I'm a young adult under 30 years of age - and for 80% of the vacation I was the only one here under 65 years of age. This leads to entertainment programming catered to a different age group (e.g. Bingo, Ring Toss, and an early ending to the night via Pool Closure and no late night music etc). If I was traveling solo, this would likely be my go to; as I can relax, read a book, e.t.c, but when traveling with a group of young adults it's just not the right location. ----- This part is extremely negative; be extremely careful with your transfer to and from the Airport/Resort - multiple drivers will attempt to redirect you, take your luggage and not return it until you are charged an additional extortion level payment. A driver intercepted a section of our group (American Airlines at SDQ) and proceeded to harass us on multiple occasions throughout the week when he was at the resort...even going to the extent of being allowed to bang on a guests room at 08:00 AM. ----- This part is positive; the staff of the resort are exceedingly friendly, approachable, and personable. By the second half of our trip - they clued into the fact the younger folks wanted to have a bit of fun and started letting us keep the music going at the pool bar (which doesn't impact the sleeping folks) and on the last night they even made an exception and kept the bar open for us till 2AM - dancing with us and genuinely trying to make it a great time for us. The effort exerted was highly noticed and appreciated. ----- This part is extremely cool; the dance crew - they are our age and we managed to strike up a conversation with them over the first night they were performing, which inevitably led to them inviting us into Samana to go to a club. The hotel signed off on it, had a driver with us at all times and made sure we were safe. It was an excellent night!

Amazing vacation. Food is excellent. Staff are all hard working and friendly, especially Emma and Eddil, they were always making sure everything was perfect. Juana at the lobby bar was always smiling and attentive. The entertainment crew was great, the Spanish lessons were beneficial for our vacation. Housekeeping did a fabulous job cleaning and stocking the room and getting the bed ready for us every night while we were watching the entertainment. The views from our balcony were amazing and we had a beautiful view of the sunset every night before dinner. One of the best vacations we have ever had. ❤️

If you are a first time traveller to A resort and have no expectations. Great place for you. But the place is total garbage. Pool is not clean. Most times you ask for some thing not available. Staff is friendly but don’t expect proper food proper service. Total waste of money and time

This was our first all inclusive experience. We were a little skeptical as we like to travel more than stay in the hotel, but we really enjoyed ourselves at this resort. The food was amazing and great selection at the buffet to choose from. Great drinks and entertainment. Excellent service for Eddil and he made sure we were enjoying ourselves during our stay. The chef at the buffet station was amazing and he made prepared few things that my wife wanted which were not at the buffet. Few negatives I’d like to mention - Food at Don Pablo was not that great. Room service was not perfect. We were not served breakfast in our room and we had to go eat at the buffet as we were getting late. I’d give it a pass as the rest of our experience was excellent.

Located on a sleepy mountaintop, with the big blue ocean as the perfect backdrop, I was in PARADISE, outside my HUGE balcony, was Bacardi Island! I ate every meal on the outside patios and it was a postcard. Service? 5 stars!! Food? 5 stars. When I asked about an omelet at lunchtime, the head chef said " no problem! " and they made it for me on the spot and it was delicious! I can't wait to go back!!!

I must say it was absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived at the resort, we were greeted with warm smiles and outstanding hospitality by the staff. Specifically, the Ambassador Yorkis Medina. He was very professional, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. In addition Dargenis the bartender at the Jaiba prepares the best drinks that you can think of. They were both ready to assist with any request or inquiry, making us feel right at home. One of the highlights of our trip was the incredible boat rides and tours offered by the resort. Exploring the breathtaking beauty of the Dominican Republic from the water was a magical experience. The variety and quality of food options were also outstanding. Our stay exceeded all our expectations. Giving this a 10 star rating!!!!!

PROS: Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and spacious rooms. Excellent and varied food both at buffet and restaurants. Good entertainment programs (especially the circus and the quiz -shows). Private beach. CONS: Smokers everywhere in the outside areas (pool, beach, verandas). Nowhere to go for a walk around - backs into a well-circulated road. Small resort: 1-2 min walk from one end to the other. The beach is small. The doctor on site charges an arm and a leg for a 10 min consultation. ( 3 times what a doctor would charge in Canada)

We are a bit younger than the normal crowd but it was extremely relaxing. Food much better than expected and topped of by great and plenty staff. The entertainment director is crazy in a good way. The service staff was fun, attentive and personal, we loved it. First time going to an all inclusive as a young adult, but it was definitely something that can include for a couple of days in any travel planning. And did I say that the beach was great and the views were completely amazing. And this price point, it seemed like a bargain.

The staff are absolutely amazing... so helpful, friendly and eager to please. Many don't speak English though so that can be challenging. Rooms are excellent and the views are outstanding. The food is good... very Americanized but generally well done. My main complaint is that the hotel can feel very isolating... you can't go for decent walks anywhere. The road isn't really safe outside the hotel and there isn't anywhere to walk on the property... especially at night. Also, there needs to be better separation of smokers from non smokers. The beach is small but pleasant. Overall, a very nice experience.

Beautiful adults only resort with the kindest and most helpful staff. I found the food to be absolutely delicious. All inclusive and the drinks were flowing cold throughout the stay. Located in Samana it’s not too crowded and close by to fun adventures. Nice amenities and everything is very clean and organized. Perfect romantic getaway for couples.

I give them more than 5 stars! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us all. We visited 2/18-2/22/23 and from the time we checked in to the time we checked out, we received the highest quality of attention. We were a group of 10 girls. The Hotel was super clean, rooms were cleaned daily and visited more than once a day in the event we needed anything additional. The food was very good! The entertainment staff was more than friendly to us all and made sure we has a super amazing time. I will definitely revisit soon!

I looked for a beach vacation and the hotel is perfect for that - nice food and a free shuttle (once in a day) to beautiful Cayo Lavantado public beach. Hotel own beach is good but can't compete with Levantado even though it is a public beach and you need to buy all services (including chair) there. My room was close to the pool area and it was quite noisy late nights (especially for Karaoke night when guest tried their vocals until 2am) - that is why I gave four stars. If you need more activity the hotel and tour operators offers multiple excursions and traditional activities on-site (gym, pool/beach games etc..). As I mentioned the food is better than in other Bahia resorts even though buffet restaurant itself is smaller. Food choice satisfied me for a week I spent there.

Loved this hotel the staff is super friendly and helpful they greeted us with drinks right at the check in lobby. Highly recommend this hotel if your looking for a peaceful stay, romantic stay. The views are beautiful and the beach is amazing it made me want to sleep on the water.

This is unique boutique hotel with a charming style. Located near Cayo Levantado with shuttle services provided by the hotel. The staff is very friendly and they try very hard to accommodate the guests from the managers to the cleaning crew. The restaurants have a variety of foods/buffet menu that are delicious. The pool was not crowded during my stay. This is an adult only hotel with live entertainment at night (very nice). There are different bars located throughout the hotel depending on the time of day. Absolutely charming hotel! The beach is beautiful but rough. Great for surfing. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking to relax and unwind or maybe fall in love. Overall a wonderful vacation. If you are looking for partying. This is not your hotel. Looking forward to my next vacation with Bahia Principe. Always a great experience!

Me and my husband went right before hurricane Fiona hit and we wanted to like it but it was not worth the money spent for us. The view is 5 stars but everything else was lacking. And its mostly due to staff and health and safety concerns. Upon arrival to our hotel room I noticed that our shower still had sand in it from previous guest. Other health concerns like open buffet with flies flying over the food and worms in our bathroom sink. Me and my husband actually got sick during our stay. Staff was kind of careless and disorganized and never gave straight answers to our concerns. There was no reassurance of safety measures before hurricane Fiona so being that we were already sick and didnt feel safe, we checked out early before the hurricane hit the country. Definitely not what I would expect or how I want to feel at a 5 star hotel.

Our stay was perfect! (Couple, 29) First we felt weird living in such a Great Hotel and seeing the poverty and dirt right around the corner. But during the stay we realized that dominican people are happy in their little huts - probably happier than most germans… the nature is just beautiful and people are welcoming and so nice! Its worth it to go explore the area and get to know the real life and People… we even went out to See the real nightlife with Animateur „Nerfri“. It was Great! Also we booked our Trips with „rumbo“ outside the Hotel. The Prices are much better and the Trips were Great!!! The Organization was Crazy and Not German at all but at the end everything always works out in the Dominican Republic. Thank you for the Great Service and the best Experience at the most beautiful spot in this Country. Best Beaches: rincon, la Playita (just Go there By cap) and Most beautiful by boat: playa fronton! And also just stand outside the Hotel and use the local Caps Where you sit on the back of a Truck :)) i loved everything about Samana and the Hotel <3

Overall excellent resort. Service was outstanding. So many awesome staff members who are all fantastic at their job and make your stay so much fun. Just to name a few: Dario the bartender who makes the best drinks. Willmy in the gym is an excellent trainer and so nice. It was a great value add to have a trainer on site to help guests get a better workout. Ingrid who always had a cappuccino for me at breakfast. Emmanuela concierge who greeted us and showed us to our room, The activities coordinators made things so fun with a nice variety of daytime and evening entertainment. The Poolside Zumba and Silent Disco were cool. The buffet grill chefs are very good especially the one who does breakfast and lunch. He cooked the omelette perfectly. And it was nice they had an excursion representative on site to help plan of site outings. Our favorite of which was the Dune Buggy adventure. Great way to see the island and so much fun. A good value overall and again the people were so gracious and welcoming. #DominicanRepublic #BridgieBreland #ILoveTravel #APerfectDay

This resort was absolutely lovely! Our room was beautiful and spacious, with a fantastic view of the ocean and property from our private balcony. We could hear the soothing ocean sounds all the time. The pool area is so nice and the beach amenities were good. The wifi was excellent. Our favorite entertainment was the Aerial Circus show and the silent disco dance party. The best part of the stay, however, was the fabulous staff. Jasquier, Candido and Luis on the waitstaff, José Ramon, Fernando and Jajaira on the bar staff, Leticia at the front desk, Deylin with entertainment, and most especially Virginia on the bar staff who would always greet me by name with a huge smile every time she saw me, and Jordan (Juan Miguel) on the entertainment team who we got to be good friends with, hanging out talking and dancing. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The only con was that the food at the buffet was not great- often cold, stale or a bit unsanitary. The food in the restaurant was excellent, but we were only able to secure one reservation during our week. The resort is pretty small, but we had a wonderful time.

We were 2 couples. At arrival we tried making dinner reservations and we were told they were booked for the restaurants. We were placed in a waiting list. We only had access to buffet or snack bar. Very disappointed We are here for four nights and they won’t accommodate us. Staff said write a review. Best advice I got in Samana. I don’t recommend it.

Great hotel, very nice staffs there. I never saw such a good service in any hotel before. Location just a dream for relaxing holidays! All in all really great experience :)

  • 3/5 Brenir C. 1 year ago on Google
Place is beautiful, staff is attentive. However, upon arrival we weren't able to reserve a place for dinner on that day. Only one restaurant "a la carte" is open per day and a reservation with hours of anticipation is required. The buffet was the only alternative for dinner. It would be great if this is communicated in advance. For a 5-star hotel, I was expecting a better experience on the first day.

Bahia Principe Luxury Samana - this is definitely my paradise. I absolutely love this hotel the location is beautiful peaceful and quiet. It’s quite small so there are not too many guests and the big plus it’s adults only hotel. Even though I stayed there two weeks I was never bored. The food is great and you will always find something new and tasty. But definitely the best feature of this hotel is the staff. My special thanks to whole entertainment team especially to Juan Miguel always full of positive energy , fantastic bartenders Virginia and Jose Ramon for preparing all those delicious drinks and last but not least the chef Yrineo for making so tasty fish and meat. ❤️
