لا يبدو على المسجد أنه مسجد تاريخى لكنه واضح انه من المساجد الكبري أو الرئيسية ، كنت مسافر من دمياط الجديدة إلى ميت غمر ومريت على سمنود بعد صلاة الجمعة بحوالى ساعة ، كان المسجد ايزال مفتوح . . موقعه فى قلب مدينة سمنود ( شارع الثورة ) أمام هيئة التامين الصحى . . المسجد نظيف ومنظم .
