Not up to the "Japanese Restaurant" standard, but have to admit it's the best you can get in Samarinda. Yakitori was good. Service level was acceptable. Should avoid the Sashimi, it's not fresh and should never been served as Sashimi. Other dishes were generally ok.

An oily "sauna" smell slapped you on the nose. Servant didn't even say Hi nor thank you while seeing you leaving from the resto. Food claimed to be the best tasted so so. Another captive resto.

Definitely far from what I expected. And of course it is overprice.

Clean and nice place. Terrific service and good japanese food. The downside is the ventilation system didn't work very well. Left smoke trails on your clothes or hair.

Love the food! Personally, the price is quite reasonable. You can get two pcs of basic inari sushi for IDR 12k. The ambience was great. A suggestion to the owner though, there's a big room for improvement about the ordering system. I went here twice and both of the times the staff issued me a receipt that is waay cheaper than the real money I should've paid, and it's because they miss the real number of plates that I got from the sushi train. They only charged me for the ones I ordered directly to the server. You'll have a great loss then.

Food is quite good, but the wasabi is not really fresh and at least this place is the only one recommended sushi bar in town.

Very good restaurant, the food was excellent, the service was acceptable. However, I believe the sushi train is very overpriced.

Zijin is one of my most favorite places to eat in Samarinda. I heard it's the first Japanese restaurant in Samarinda that brings the concept of Sushi Train which is really cool. The place is also very cozy and cool, for the choice of sitting at the table/sushi bar. We can also see the Sushi Preparation Counter because it's close to the sushi bar. I can say the service is also fast and friendly. In my opinion, it's a good place to hang out with friends and eat there. Last time i went there, i remember trying one of the sushis from the Sushi Train and it was really delicious. Also tried the chicken onigiri(?) and yep, it was also delicious. One of the best menu i tried there was the chicken skin on the skewers one 😹. It was recommended straight from the owner so i decided to try it. You know what? it was UMAI! It was a good experience to dine here, you get the excellent ambiance that you can't get in any other Japanese restaurant in Samarinda.
