Lackluster garden for a palace, with only a ring of plain flowers and that's about it. SWARMS of biting mosquitos. Very expensive to access because it's on an island. There are some nice-looking fountains but they are too far apart to be captured together in camera. The main access roads lack shades, making it torturous to endure in summer.

Wonderful to spend a sunny day here and wonder around the island.

Super schöner Schlosspark, mit schöner Möglichkeit, den als Abschluss einer Inselrunde zum krönenden Anschluss zu machen. War bei unserem Besuch überraschenderweise nicht mit Touris überlaufen. Richtung See gibts viele Plätze zum verweilen - such für Menschen geeignet, die nicht mehr so gut zu Fuß sind

This Park and the whole area on the Herreninsel are amazing. So much nature. These old trees you have all around the island and you can walk a lot. You could basically spend the whole day out just walking around and enjoy making pictures and search for old trees. This is a place for tree lovers, nature lovers and just to escape from the busy city.

Nice for one day trip. An hour ride from Munich plus half an hour by boat. The castle is beautiful. You cant enter outside of organized tours, so count on some waiting. If you have any food restrictions, bring your own snacks and lunch, as there is just a few options on the spot (sausages mostly).

Beautiful garden area surrounding Herrenchiemsee Palace. We visited too late in the fall, and the fountains had been drained, but it was still a beautiful area, especially with the changing colors of the leaves. Well worth a visit - the entire island is great for a visit. Lots of trails to explore!

Sehr schöner Schlosspark und auch die Führung im Schloss und das Museum waren sehr informativ. Außerdem haben wir noch das Chorherrenstift besucht, doch leider waren hier die meisten Räume wegen Renovierung nicht zugänglich.

Der Spiegelsaal ist Überwältigend. Nur 30% sind fertig ausgebaut. Sensationell die Badewanne des Königs. Die Ausstellung im Seiten Flügel ist Sehenswert.

Beeindruckend, riesig, links und rechts des Schlosses je eine Schneise mit Aussicht bis zum Chiemsee. Sehr schöne, besondere Brunnen mit halbstündigen Wasserspielen und sehr ansprechend gestaltete Blumenrabatte. Kein Wunder, dass die Kasse in Bayern damals leer war, wenn der dekadente Prunk von drinnen sich auch noch draussen fortsetzt.

Sehr schöne Anlage. Das angeschlossene Bistro bietet zu einem angemessenen Preis viele Speisen und Getränke an. Natürlich etwas teurer als auf dem Festland. Irgendwie muss ja auch alles auf die Insel kommen. Sehr freundliches Personal. 😀

Sehr schönes Ausflugsziel am Chiemsee. Wir sind mit dem Boot erst zur Herreninsel und dann noch zur Fraueninsel gefahren. Beide Inseln sind sehr gepflegt und gut mit Kinderwagen zu erkunden. Die Gastronomie ist top. Immer wieder ein Ausflug wert.

Ich finde die Insel sehr, auch das Schloss ist sehr interessant! Da ja nur ein Teil davon fertig gestellt ist! Ich empfehle eine Führung für das Schloss zubuchen!! Es werden einem viele Details nahe gebracht was Material und Einrichtung betrifft! Es wird auch ein Bereich gezeigt der nicht fertig gestellt wurde! Wenn man nicht gut zu Fuß ist, kann man mit einer Kutsche zum Schloss fahren!

Herrenchiemsee ist immer einen Ausflug wert. Die Überfahrt mit dem Schiff, der Eintritt ins Schloss und die Fahrt mit der Kutsche vom Anleger zum Schloss sind dem Preis Wert. Bei der Schlossführung darf leider nicht fotografiert werden. Der Schlosspark ist sauber und gepflegt. Weil das Kaffee Selbstbedienung hat, sind dort die Preise zu hoch.

Schlosspark is a wonderful destination. The historical charm and serene landscapes make it a perfect place to unwind. Strolling through its gardens offers a refreshing break from technology. The architecture and rich history add to the appeal. Whether for a leisurely walk or quiet contemplation, Schlosspark is a gem that captures the heart.

Costs 10 Eur per Adult or 5 Eur per child to get to this amusing island from Prien by ship.

We didn't go into the palace but enjoyed a drive through the grounds in a horse-drawn wagon.

Excellent mini Versailles. One bad point is that photography is not allowed on the tour, and another is the ridiculous pricing on all good and drink even from the automat cost more than at an airport!!!

It is an interesting place. Easy to get there. Pay for parking, pay for ferry ticket. Nice tour. Museum doesn't have much explanation in English. Had a tour guide for the palace in English. In the winter all the fountains and statuary are covered up. I recommend as a nice day trip

Very well maintained castle and the park. Small scale replica of a Versaille, so if you've been there you know what to expect. Definitely visit the castle as well - makes you think of how spending public money will pay dividend 150 years later. Can't (be bothered to) walk? Take the horse carriage from the marina.

A must see! It's a beautiful experience and the castle is wonderful. The tour is well organized and detailed. They'll take you from one side to the other, showing you all the details of this place. Although you can't take pictures of the inside, there is a museum at the entrance that has replicas of some of the things you will see inside and there you can take pictures. We went during the week and it was a relaxing experience. The weekend gets a lot more crowded and difficult... Plan your visit! Note that the price of the ferry doesn't include the price for the castle or the museum. You can buy the ticket for the castle and the museums at the ticket office on the island.

One of my favorite places. Turn right from the ship's landing instead of going ahead to the castle and you will find yourself in a quiet wonderland as the tourist hordes mostly only visit the castle and the beer garden that is halfway between the landing and the castle.
