Excellent dining experience. Very good old fashioned. The red fish with etouffee was awesome. Pricey, but worth it. You get what you pay for. Arguably the best upscale spot in town. Very exclusive. Great ambiance. Awesome spot for a first date or anniversary.

The food was really good, but not quite to five stars given the price point. Calamari was ok but could have used any type of seasoning, pretty bland. Aged steak had a nice crust and was good and tender, but again could have used some seasoning. The toffee pudding was a knockout though, as were the cocktails! The water they served was filtered tap water and tasted terrible, either the filter needs replacing or get water delivered for a higher end place like this.

After asking friends where to go for a high end restaurant, Peasant Village was recommended by everyone. The restaurant is located in an old house which has been updated to accommodate guests with seating and decorations. I didn't see any parking lot but there is ample street parking near by. Reservations are recommended since seating is limited. The menu is seasonal, so the food is always changing. I ordered the ribeye and my wife got the salmon puff. The server recommended the truffle fries for a side and my wife requested the mashed potatoes. The service was amazing, drinks were being refilled regularly and plates were cleared in a timely manner before the next plate came out. After we finished eating Chef Jason introduced himself and asked if we enjoyed our meal. We ended the evening with key lime pie for dessert. I enjoyed the food and the service and would recommend coming here if you are looking for a high end restaurant in San Angelo.

Great experience! The restaurant is cozy and has great vibes. The staff is attentive. The food is fresh. We had filet mignon... Best in the city as far as seasoning and texture. We also had beef stroganoff. It was good and saucy but lacked a good enough quantity of beef in my opinion ..which was tender and flavorful, when you could find a piece. The truffle fries are thin, crisp, and salty.. Like good fries should be. The creme brulee was light and sweet and creamy with a kind of butterscotch flavor to it. They have great mocktails...I highly recommend those.Over all experience was pretty great. We will definitely return.

Beautiful house turned sandwich shop/ bar!! I ordered the gyro, it was just ok. It comes with "seasoned chips," straight out of a bag and a dill pickle. The ambiance was far better than the food. I came from out of town so unfortunately I probably will never be able to give them another shot. I'd love to try something different as I really wanted to love the place. Nice alcohol selection though we didn't order drinks on this trip. They also have outdoor tables. Check the hours before going, they close early.

Stopped in to try their new lunch special. This week they had burgers and today's was a jalapeño cheddar burger with seasoned fries. The burger was big and juicy with good heat from the jalapeño but balanced out nicely with some sweetness from the pickles and a soft, buttery bun. Can't beat the $10 price point on it either! We were told next week they are having pulled pork for lunch so we will definitely be back to try that out!

Wife and I love it here! It's our top pick for special occasions every time. Never a bad meal or bad service. Always VIP treatment from the staff and chef Jason. Class act guy who cares about his craft and his people. Hostess and bartender Merrisa is always a pleasure to see there as she too is a true professional every time we done in. The food speaks for itself and it's worth every penny as well. This place hits above it's weight for our small town I tell ya that much.

We wanted to like this restaurant, but it is extremely understaffed. On our first visit, we waited for an hour and a half only to find out that our server had forgotten to put our entree orders in. We had heard great things about the food and decided to give them another shot. On our second visit, which was also our tenth wedding anniversary, the server was so busy he forgot to put our drink and salad order in. We will not be going back for a third visit. For a restaurant that charges this much, they should be adequately staffed to make sure the experience is worth the cost.

The Lamb was pretty amazing and so was the quail app. The service was just OK, never brought our salads we ordered and my fish was served cold and needed to be reheated. Also, the creme brulee was served cold like out of a fridge which usually the top is fired and still warm. Definitely room for improvements here but I'd give it another try.

My wife and I were excited to finally eat here! We ordered the quail as an appetizer, rack of lamb, and aged sirloin. The quail was great but not $18 great. The chipotle glaze that came with the dish was amazing. I don’t regret ordering, but wouldn’t do it again. My sirloin was steak was ordered medium rare and cooked to perfection. However, it wasn’t as tender or as flavorful as the sirloin from Texas Roadhouse. My wife said her lamb was excellent, and I’ll take her word for it as lamb isn’t my thing. Overall our experience was wonderful, but for $103 it’s not one that has me running back for more immediately.

I was fortunate to be able to go twice with family and loved ones. I went for the first time with my parents and my aunt, my dad's sister, celebrating her new adventure in life. I went again a few years later with my now husband and it was our first official date, although we'd been together for a bit. The food was off the charts, the staff amazing, and the atmosphere cozy and inviting. My only regret to this day, as it was still there on my second visit, was not buying the yellow painting - The Journey I believe it was titled, in the back room closest to the kitchen. I could relate to it completely, and my only hope is that by some chance it's still there when I return again one day, or someone else related to it as much as I did personally and gave it a proper home. (I love how individual artists are able to feature themselves there!) I have not been back since before the fire, and so my excitement to do so only grows. I'm so thrilled it survived and continues to thrive. I cannot wait to return and walk the water gardens across the street, as was our hope after we shut the place down the last time ;) and hopefully visit the deli next door as well for the first time. Keep the teasing emails coming. They make my mouth waster and my heart grow fonder.

A lovely place to have dinner. Excellent bar service by Larry. They have very good options for bourbon and rye whiskey. Had the calamari, Caesar salad and Cajun Angels (shrimp). All were tasty and done properly. They do serve on the fast side. For example, my calamari and salad were served together quickly. And the main course arrived about 5 minutes after. Had a delicious chocolate creme brûlée for dessert.

Absolutely an awesome dining experience. When my wife and I want to celebrate a special occasion we celebrate at a special place, "Peasant Village "! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is comfortable yet elegant. The absolute best in San Angelo for fine dining. You won't leave there hungry, I guarantee it! Each plate is a work of art as they obviously take pride in their craft.

I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!! It is probably the fanciest we have in San Angelo by far. It is perfect for a date, parties or with friends. I recommend the calamari, and when they have it, the creme brulee which are both the best I've ever had. It's not cheap, but it is worth every penny.

I dropped by to get their $10 cheeseburger and fries today. Holy cow! The burger was massive (like 12 ounces I think they said) and so delicious. It had cheese and bacon and all the veggies. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. And they had it ready in less than 10 minutes!

Hands down the best damn burger I've ever eaten. I usually put ketchup or mustard on my burger after the first bite but this patty was seasoned beautifully. Also got served a side of crunchy, not burnt, light salted fries.

Chef Jason, Thomas, Mark, Aron and everyone else made my dinner birthday a great experience. The food superb, the service top notch. Thank you for making my celebration so special.

👍👍 This restaurant has the best Mexican food that I’ve ever eaten! I’m not a local, but after eating here, I now have a reason to want to go back & visit. This place alone is definitely worth a road trip! Seriously. Also, I must note that the ambience was wonderful and the staff was friendly too. I can...
