My daughter was sick and wasted three and a half hours here and still didn't get the test result. Since the child and I didn't have lunch, I strongly urged to go home and wait for the notification of the test result. Now it's another two and a half hours before I go home, That is to say, it took me a total of 6 hours and I didn't get a call from the emergency center. I still don't know what's wrong with the child. She vomited again just now. If every patient needs to spend such a long time to check the condition, I think some patients will have unfortunate occurrences due to delayed treatment due to their illness, I am really angry, this is not the first time

My father went in for day surgery on Thursday morning (July 7th, 2022) with Dr. Duarte that didn't go well. It was supposed to be a short procedure. Dr. Duarte admitted to cutting a wrong nerve and told my father that he needed to have surgery again right away to fix the mistake he made, but with a different doctor. The other issue is that my father has long COVID and I don't feel the anesthesiologist took this into consideration as my father was not completely out of the anesthesia until the following day, July 8th at around 4:30pm. His blood pressure spiked and he had trouble breathing. All his tests came back normal so he didn't suffer a stroke or mild heart attack. Dr. Duarte kept insisting he go back to the surgery table with the other doctor he referred. My mother and I both disagreed with Dr. Duarte, as we both felt he was just trying to cover up his mistake. My father checked out of Shannon Hospital today, July 10th, from his day surgery on July 7th. This is unacceptable service by any hospital. I will say the nurses that took care of my father on the 5th floor were excellent. Christy is the only one I met, but there were two others and they performed great care as well. So please thank them for that. I do see that the latest review here also has a bad complaint about Dr. Duarte as well. Shannon Hospital should be held accountable as well for letting this man still practice with them, because I'm sure he has a record for making these kind of mistakes. Don't worry about sending a response to reach out to you Shannon Hospital, we will be making several phone calls in the morning to patient complaint, Dr. Barnett, and Mr.Shane Plymell.

I have had two horrific accidents here. Please read if you are trying to figure out if this is the hospital for you or loved ones. Accident 1: This place is an absolute joke. Went to the ER to understand why my partner is having pain/swelling in the abdomen and other severe issues that's absolutely alarming. And left with still no answers. Saying it was a stomach bug but this is no stomach bug. On the paper they gave us states to seek medical help if certain problems are happening, but they already are. You could tell the doctor did not care, he was just there to do what he needed to do then leave. They do not care about you. After staying there for 5 hours and not getting a real answer on what's going on they decided to give a HUGE bill. Along with all the pain my partner is in, they gave no meds for said "stomach bug". They stated that they had inflammation but gave no reason to why (which is why we were there in the first place, to understand why it was happening), but gave no meds for the inflammation. Instead just said "it'll go away on its own. This has been happening for months now and hasn't gone away. An absolute waste of our time and money! Accident 2: My great aunt passed a few weeks ago. Nurses here went against doctors orders TWICE! Doctor said to keep her O2 levels at a 4 but a untrained nurse came in and lowered it, which cause her O2 to go dramatically down! Causing her not to be able to breathe! The nurse did not notify anyone that she was turning down my aunts O2's. Saying thats what they usually do when paitents are breathing fine. Thats a first sign that nurse do not read up on their patients! Then later that night moved her a whole floor up because they "needed" the room. Later went to go check if the room was occupied and it wasn't. The reason the doctor specifically said not to move her is because she's way to fragile and any little movement could cause her to die. Well not too long after finding out she was moved even when doctor specifically said not too. We found her unalived. No notification from the nurses, they themselves didn't even know that she passed. Sounds like a lawsuit but come on, Do better shannon. Do not come here! They just want your money. Giving that this hospital was built for the people that can't afford hospitals. They no longer care and live up to the whole reason they were started. Go to a urgent care or sadly if you can drive out of town for care. It's sad shannon is taking over Angelo. They're just in it for your money, not your health

I live in Amarillo , I came home to help my mother who suffers from calciphylaxis. I planned on staying as long as I could .. using my FMLA from my job. I left the paperwork at her Dr."s office on a Monday to be filled , I left my name and phone # w my paperwork attached. I check bk on Wed of the same week ..to which the receptionist tells me it will be done on Friday. I go back in Friday..and the nurse comes out to tell me that (MY )Dr. has to fill out the paperwork for my mother ...WHO he has never seen... Because that is the Shannon's Dr.s policy.!! Please tell me how does that make any sense at all?? My mother's condition is serious.. and I'm trying to get her back to where she can be somewhat comfortable.!!! If that was the case and he didn't want to help why was I not informed..so I could ask another one of her Dr.s ??? Now i have to go back.. because I'm out of time . ...because of this careless office and staff!! Do better Shannon!!!!

This hospital is, in my opinion the best hospital servicing our region. The doctors are awesome and informative as to the care they're providing me. The nurses are very helpful, responsive and caring. The receptionists have great customer service skills and are helpful to setup appointments convenient for me. I have No Reason to go elsewhere, Shannon Medical Center has the ability to take care of all our needs. Thank you, San Angelo,TX

St. John’s facility stinks like a sewer so bad it’s horrible!! I feel so bad for the staff as well as the patients. Never been in there until yesterday and oh my God I almost threw up!! I asked the receptionist on the 2nd floor how they dealt with that horrible smell and she said it was very hard but you have to do it because it’s part of being there for your job! She also said they all hoped for a new place in the future because it’s much needed!!! Staff was super sweet and very helpful and knowledgeable!! So Shannon directors need to take care of their employees there that have to work in such conditions!! As for myself the babies home health nurse and my Grand baby who received the care could barely stand the smell!! Hope we do not have to return!! Shame on you Shannon Hospital for making your employees work in such a nasty smelling environment !!! They could get very I’ll from the sewer gasses! My gosh! I’m appalled!

Got a call the my appointment scheduled for 11 months had to be cancelled, as it was "the week of Thanksgiving" (My appointment being on a Monday morning and Thanksgiving on Thursday. It's Oct. 23rd) I inform the receptionist that I couldn't talk on the phone in that moment, so she responds, " okay, well I'll just cancel it, and you can call when you feel like you have time." This seemed nice, but the way she said it was rude, and I'm not sure why she felt the need to be. I begged her not to cancel but to call me back at 1 or 2 pm. And she agreed. I got no call.Today I call and find that my appointment was cancelled and I had to reschedule months from now. I am in tears.

When it seems it can't be any worse, Shannon shows it can be done? How does an entire department lose MRI results and state it might need to be re-done. Disappointed and frustrated with this place. Never on time and zero consideration for time lost from work when rescheduling is necessary due to tech not being available. VA should do better to find a better medical provider.

Dr. Michael Boyd was my surgeon during my treatment of breast cancer. I would highly recommend this provider to anyone. He took the time to thoroughly explain my procedure to me. He and his staff made me feel at ease and genuinely cared for as a person and a patient from the first visit through post operative care.

One star is a far stretch, watch this medical facility. They tell you a price that your surgery will be when they call but when you get the bill it's 3k more than the original amount they tell you. They try to say it was an estimate but when talking to the person they mention nothing about an estimated cost. It's crooked the way they bill and then they try telling you how much to pay a month, a bunch of crooks. Update, went on my health care account and pulled up the billing statement to see we owed for my son's surgery under 2k but shannon is saying we owe them over 5k. I STAND BY MY STATEMENT ABOUT THIS MEDICAL FACILITY, THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS!!

Wanted to know how you could treat your patients as terribly as cutting off half Their foot, rushing him out of the hospital as fast as possible. Knowing that there's gonna be on a 20 hour plane Ride plus delays to get home and refuse to send them home with any kind of pain medicine. Suffering of your patients must be the highest priority of the doctor. Can be the only reason I could see someone being sent home with a half of a foot missing and no kind of medication to relieve the pain and suffering while traveling across the united states. I will be contacting anybody and everybody that I can possibly get a hold of that wants to hear about how this patient was treated. I recommend that you take it your family to any other hospital than this one. Knowing that they bought everything in town. They have let their care suffer and this is showing. Here is one of there lack of caring and kindness. Another reason one company shouldn't be a monopoly in a city

If you want to see an actual doctor instead of a PA or NP then you'll have to go to another town. Wait times at the urgent care clinics are insane, like 3 hours, even with pre-check-in. Was at the clinic yesterday at 3 and my prescription still hasn't been turned in nearly 28 hours later. Nice people but I don't see where they get all these A grades that are posted everywhere.

I felt like a cow being pushed through a factory making money. My recovery nurse was rude and not accommodating at all! I was still very very sedated to the point my daughter was going to have to carry me out I was so out of it from anesthesia!! They said I had to go to make more room?? Thanks Shannon for making money the priority not the patient! My daughter was left traumatized after this horrid experience!! On top of this we have the Valet guy not letting you pick up your sedated patient and wanting to argue about parking geez πŸ™„do better Shannon!

We enjoyed our visit with Dr Wagnon and his staff. They were very kind and very communicative with us. They helped us to better understand what was going on with our child and find a solution to help him get better. They are very respectful and work quick all while making sure to listen to your concerns.

Dr. Bradley and all of his staff are absolutely the best. I can't say enough good things about my treatment. He has worked with me over the past several years to dial in a treatment plan that has proven to be right on the mark. Always thoughtful, knowledgeable, and caring. Just amazing!

Doctor Hector Acton is hands down the BEST pediatrician I could've ever chosen for my children. He provides the most exceptional care and is very knowledgeable and sweet. Dr. Acton and his staff are extremely helpful and generous. I highly recommend his office and staff to anyone looking for pediatric or adolescent care for their family. 5 stars! But would definitely give more if the option was provided.

Went into Dr office for speculated gall bladder pain. Had to schedule my own Ultrasound! No results 15 hours later and ended up at the ER to get actual care. NOT SHANNON ER EITHER. Now I have to have surgery at Shannon...I am terrified

Dr. Luis Duarte was recommended to me by another medical professional for a nerve problem in my lower spine. He was professional, knowledgeable, direct, articulate, and listened and responded to my concerns. A Top-Notch physician!

Every time that we have had to use Shannon Hospital, our experiences have been awesome! Each and every employee that we have come in contact with is beyond professional, helpful, caring, wonderful and courteous. This hospital is a pleasant change from other hospitals! They make us feel like family! We LOVE them!

I don't think one more one-star review really means anything, but anyway, avoid this hospital. My grandmother came by ambulance and was parked in a hallway for over 10 hours. No fluids no medication no food. She had to keep using a bed pan in the hallway. Unacceptable care of service

Dr. Anderson and his staff are exceptional. I have been a nurse for 28 years, so I am a hard sell. Minimal pain with procedure and after, so excited to find a competent and pleasant physician and staff. Too many times physicians are told how to treat a patient, aka diagnosis code. Dr. Anderson is an exception.

Some employees are unfamiliar with emergency room policy and provided misinformation. This caused problems for the other employees trying to enforce hospital policy, and a family member trying to be in the room with their elderly mother. An already stressful experience was made much worse unnecessarily. This experience is consistent with other times family has been admitted here.

Dr. Acton is a great pediatrician. And his nurse Nikki is always friendly and caring. Great staff. I would highly recommend them for pediatric care.

I would like to take a few minutes to recognize and thank ALL of the members of the pre surgery and post op departments of Shannon Hospital. I had a hernia surgery last Friday, which went very well. every one was quiet helpful and concerned about my experience and how I felt post op. The whole experience was just a little scary for me. But I had complete confidence in the staff who performed their duties with such care and compassion. So Thank You everyone for a great job. You made my experience so much easier and alot less scary.
