👍👍 Great museum! Thanks for saving this depot. Restored to original condition. And lots of pix and several train layouts. They have done a very thorough job of including a lot of artifacts on display. Worth a visit! People often mention tour, train, museum, history,

This is an awesome place to take your train enthusiast. We have a 5-year old that loves trains. The whole family ended up enjoying this excursion. The men that were giving tours were so nice and knowledgeable. The volunteers that ran the little gift shop were so helpful. This museum lets you get up close and personal with the trains. There is even a Thomas Model Train that your kids can run. They have three or four rooms that are very elaborate model train setups. They are awesome. It is amazing how beautiful some of them are. This is a great place to stop. You get way more than your monies worth out of this experience.

This railway station is in beautiful shape, holding historical integrity to the highest level. There is a two floor tour. The first floor is set up in almost original format with period furnishings and equipment. The tour guide will even let you try to tap out a short telegraph on the original equipment. Upstairs you will find one of the largest and finest toy train collections I have ever seen. Absolutely Worth your 5 dollars admission. Also there is a separate train tour which I did not take because I want to return. The train tour is another 5$. Definitely worth the trip!

Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I’m glad this museum is here, and is a significant historical piece to San Angelo as that’s where the soldiers in WWII arrived and departed as they were here for B-17 bomber training and such. It also is historical before that when it was used as a route to Mexico from Kansas. Definitely worth checking out and exploring!!

It's a cool place for older children. I would not recommend the tour for anyone under 8 years old. I went with my daughter in law and grandchildren. They enjoyed the locomotive and telegram but after that they were done. Upstairs was interesting. The models were too tempting for the little ones not to touch. They have a good script for the tour and as mentioned before it's best suited for older kids and adults who can appreciate it. Littles just want to climb and play with the models.

One of the tour guides was a bit rude. The guide seemed somewhat annoyed with the children who were being…well children. They were asking a lot of questions, fidgeting etc. The other tour guide was very friendly. I understand that the tour guides are volunteers and don’t have to be there. It’s very generous of them to give of their time. It’s still good business to be welcoming to guests. Definitely a tour for older children, maybe third grade and older. I’ve been before and it was a good experience so maybe it was just an off day.

Cool historical train station, a vital part of the early 20th century in San Angelo. Open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. See their website for hours..
