Let me start with a sort of sense of direction when going to this restaurant. I took the easiest way for me to get there, and it was going through the entrance from the Westin Hotel in downtown San Antonio. Once you enter the hotel, you take a left and then walk all the way down to the hall, and you will see up right a sign for Zocca Restaurant. You can either go down on the stairs next to the sign, or you can take the elevator and press the riverside button. At the entrance this restaurant has a bar with very nice and friendly staff. They have two settings, one indoors and the other one outdoors right next to the river. The food is good, and the server was not over us asking us for what was next on your table. She really let us enjoy our time without rushing us. I want to say that this restaurant does NOT serve bread with oil as every other Italian restaurant you go to. I was a little disappointed but everything else was good!

Overall I did have a positive experience. My server was polite and apologetic for some of th extended waits we had for the food due to short staffing. I just wasn’t sure if it was something that I ordered, or had high expectations, I just felt the food quality was not as good as I anticipated. However, I would go back and try it again.

Nice location on river walks in Westin hotel , breakfast was surprisingly excellent - usually find hotel breakfast lacking. Nice ambiance and pleasant service . Nice view of river walk

Celebrated a friend's birthday on the patio overlooking the riverwalk. Our waiter rocked our world wit his attention to all our party asking billions of questions about food & drinks. The day was sweltering hot je was kind to bring umbrellas to offer shade & our drinks never went empty no matter if you jad water or alchol.

Stopped by for brunch due to the restaurant being conveniently located in the Westin where I stayed. Had a mimosa, Texas tea, and shared the chicken salad wrap. The wrap was really good and included grapes, celery, and the chicken was flavored nicely. Drinks were good also. Available seating outside on the riverwalk and inside. Very clean and staff were very friendly. Live music right outside among the tables was nice. As other have said, bread/oil is not provided here, but many really good appetizer/shareable options available.

The atmosphere and location is wonderful. The caprese salad needs fresh basil so badly. The creme brulee was excellent however the Mason jar is horrible presentation and more importantly not the correct vessel for that type of delicate dessert. The tiramisu tasted good as well but may have been a little dry.

We were unable to eat here. First, despite having a reservation, we were made to wait while they sorted tables, trying to find us one. Next, we get in, sit down, and wait. We wait for 30 minutes with no one coming up to us even to ask for a drink order. Finally, after going up to the host's stand to ask for a server to come to our table, we are only then informed that due to being backed up, food orders are taking upwards of 45 minutes to come out. I am empathetic that they are busy and have some organizational issues, but that should have been communicated to us right at the start. Incredibly poor service and communication.

We stopped for appetizer snacks during our walk around the river walk. My wife got the bruschetta and I got the wings. Both were beyond delicious, and the waiter was both friendly and attentive. Out of all the other places around, I'm glad we stopped here.

The bread was good... That's about it. We ordered 5 adult beverages before dinner, they only brought 4. We reminded them about the 5th and they finally brought it 20 min later. We asked for bread... they finally brought it just before the dinner arrived. The spaghetti was cold and looked like it had been sitting out since lunchtime. The other folks in our party said their dishes were marginal, not great... but we all agreed, the bread was good. Quite pricey for the quality of food and service.

This is part of the westin hotel. Beautiful ambience and on the Riverwalk. We tried roasted cauliflower(suggestion: if you can sprinkle sea salt on it it would taste more yummy),quattro formaggi pizza and loaded margherita pizza.

The food was pretty good, and the atmosphere was amazing. The only reason for the 4 stars was that the pepperoni pizza for my daughter had a vodka sauce. It was new for her and myself as a pizza sauce and honestly mid for me. It's not a bad idea, just poor execution, I may have liked it more if I knew in advance that it was not a marinara base. The peaches and cream is not what I imagined in my head. However, it is a delicious start to the meal. It is more of a cheesy deliciousness that pairs well with the salad and bread. The pasta was cooked nicely, once I realized it was a hollow noodle.

My wife and I stayed ate at Zocca on two separate occasions during our stay. Both times, we received excellent service and delicious food. Zocca is located on a quieter part of the riverwalk which I really enjoyed and find to be a nice relief from the crowded and loud parts elsewhere. For lunch, we got the burger and the lemon chicken sandwich. Both were good, but we both agreed that the lemon chicken sandwich was better (and the focaccia was delicious). We also went for a light dinner and ordered mocktails, appetizers, and a salad to share. The mocktails were delicious and a lot more thought out than just virgin cocktails. My wife (pregnant on this trip) really appreciated the non-alcoholic offerings. The food at dinner was also great with unique offerings such as the peaches and cream (pictured). My wife and I both enjoyed the restaurant and would recommend it to others.

I'll start off by saying the food, when we finally got it, was excellent. I had the Seafood Risotto and my wife had the fish and both completely cleaned our plates. The service, however, was lacking in a number of different ways. The server, while a pleasant guy, was not very present and we had to ask three times to get my wife's water refilled. Our initial drink order took about 20 minutes to make it to the table, and our dinners took about an hour and a half. The server explained that the kitchen was really backed up, but this was at 6 pm and the dining room was about 75% full, so a busy night must real throw them for a tizzy. There was no identifiable manager on the floor talking to people and trying to engage in any kind of customer service. Overall, while the food was good, I would not recommend

Very nice Fine Dining! Food was very delicious, really gourmet. Ambience is great and the staff is very nice, polite and helpful. Angel, was very efficient, polite, suggested substitutions and overall had high customer service. Menu is quite varied and has a good number of dining choices. The Braised Mushroom Ravioli was delicious, yummy and the right quantity. Tasty food, high quality service and an awesome ambience! I would highly recommend Zocca.

Worth the wait! I did the “build your own pasta” with the gluten free pasta & parmesan cheese sauce, which was delicious - being able to mix & match their pasta options to all be GF was great. Husband got the chicken parm & absolutely loved it too. Portion sizes were very generous! We chose 4/5 as for an Italian restaurant, we were hoping for a bread appetizer that most restaurants offer, but we didn’t have that. And we do agree with the other reviewers that it is a little slow, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. Staff were all very kind & personable!

Food and staff is top notch! A very warm welcome from Tony started our wonderful lunch. We sat outside. It was beautiful. Iris was our server, she was very attentive, friendly , funny and knowledgeable. I also has a finicky daughter who is hard to please. Chef Daniel prepared her a plate which was perfect. Thanks guys and keep doing what you do! Will see you soon!

The staff made the night extremely special for me. My, now fiance, set up a romantic evening for us there. This will forever be "our" restaurant! Everything was perfect from the food to the service!

My husband and I went here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and were treated amazingly! We were led to a table in the back, in private, with a great view of the riverwalk, and they even gave us complimentary champagne and dessert!! We had GREAT service and it really made our anniversary so so special. Thank y’all for making our experience amazing!! Can’t recommend it enough!

This was a great Riverwalk experience. Beautiful atmosphere, relaxed, gorgeous patio area, and I noticed there were private dining options for special occasions. Lots of sports fan were watching their favorite college teams which the bar staff found on the large screens for those who made the request. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The manager checked on us to be sure our experience met our expectations. We enjoyed our meal (options for all types of tastes) and we would definitely recommend the restaurant to friends.

We were in town for the marathon this weekend and had made reservations for 6:30 knowing it’s going to be a busy weekend. We got there at 6:20 and were told they are backed up and running a little behind. No problem until an hour later we were finally seated and were told the food is AT LEAST going to take another hour.. we called around and found an open spot at a different restaurant so we ended up going there. We wanted to eat at 6:30, ended up eating at 8:30 at a different place because the hostess was not honest about the wait time and the restaurant was NOT prepared for race weekend. There were MANY open tables at Zocca. I realize they didn’t have the staff but that’s probably something to make sure to take care of on a weekend where a lot of things are going on in the city including a marathon. Can’t comment on the food because we didn’t get to try it.

Service was great but the food mediocre, it did not feel very Italian to me personally. For reference I'm from Chicago and that might be why my meal did not taste the greatest. The view was beautiful, right by the Riverwalk.
