My
wife
and
I
stayed
over
a
long
holiday
weekend.
We
usually
enjoy
the
old,
historic
hotels
that
provide
a
great
rate
and
service
through
Fine
Hotels
and
Resorts
with
Amex.
However,
this
stay
was
average,
at
best.
The
initial
interactions
at
check
in
were
more
akin
to
staying
at
a
Holiday
Inn:
short,
mildly
rude,
and
left
a
bad
taste.
She
didn’t
seem
to
like
our
early
arrival,
despite
having
the
early
check
in
(and
then
forgot
to
make
sure
our
room
and
room
keys
were
programmed
for
the
late
4
pm
check
out,
locking
us
out
and
necessitating
a
long
wait
at
the
front
desk
to
regain
entry).
Maid
service
since
the
pandemic
has
been
limited,
I
understand,
but
the
first
day
they
forgot
to
come
at
all,
and
we
only
had
limited
towels
and
one
robe
for
two
people.
The
breakfast
restaurant
was,
again,
average,
though
service
there
was
superior.
We
didn’t
get
to
try
the
restaurant
or
bar
as
there
were
many
events
in
the
hotel.
Overall,
this
was
the
most
disappointing
experience
with
a
Luxury
Collection
hotel
we’ve
had
in
our
travels.
The
central
location
was
its
best
characteristic,
and
other
hotels
in
the
area
at
a
lower
price
point
would
likely
serve
you
just
as
well.
