Overall a great hotel. It has a lot of history. The staff was amazing. While it can be a bit pricey you get what you pay for which is great service all around. This might be one of the most helpful hotels I have stayed at. I trace on to San Antonio often and will for sure stay here again.

Don't forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a stay. They compare hundreds of hotel sites and typically will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the best in this area. I have been coming here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you definitely won't be disappointed. Just a beautiful hotel all the way around. The room was great, we also enjoyed drinks in the lounge. Sometimes it’s the little things like a valet named Dean who was friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. He even gave us some brief history of the hotel which we found very nice.

My boyfriend and I had the best experience staying here! Ray was such and amazing member of the hotel staff, and even went out of his way to make sure our night at the hotel was perfect. This guy absolutely deserves recognition for his outstanding customer service. He alone made the stay worth it. Thanks for the chocolate cake and the positive vibes Ray, wishing you all the good things in the new year!

I’ll start with the only con we experienced and continue on to the pros. Upon arrival 30 minutes AFTER the scheduled check in time we were told our room is not yet ready. When we inquired about when the room will be ready we were told there is absolutely no way to tell and given a 40$ credit “for the inconvenience”. Approximately 15 minutes later we spoke to the front desk and told them to cancel our reservation as we are leaving to a different hotel. Then a room was immediately ready. As for the pros: -The location of the hotel is very central and easily accessible from/to the riverwalk, Alamo, etc. -A historical hotel in a beautiful building. -The interior design of the hotel is absolutely stunning! Everything is well thought out and aesthetically pleasing. -the shower head in the shower is detachable.

Always a pleasure staying here. We had a suite this time and everything was amazing. The hotel was decorated for Christmas and the lobby area was beautiful! There was in house music in the evenings and we had a delicious breakfast in our room Christmas Eve. If you have the means or just want to live the high life for a bit, definitely splurge on a room here, even if it’s for one night; it will be an experience you won’t forget! You’ll even be annoyed that you can’t find something to hate about it! (Also: pics were from a previous stay)

This is what luxury is! We had a wonderful stay. You can feel the history of the hotel. The sides are amazing and the location is great. Close to the river walk and the stress you want to be. The bed was great, the room was big and bright. Wonderful experience. I hope i get a chance to stay there again.

This Hotel is extremely nice however when i arrive i had the king suite booked and it was not ready at my arrival at 4pm the concierge put me in what she said was an upgrade for the inconvenience but when i walked in it was not what i expected so i called down and the manager was extra friendly and took care of it right away by upgrading me to the luxurious Franklin suite. This room was totally Awesome..it is the best and the restroom bath area is incredible...the pool here is so nice and relaxing..talk about luxury... The Hotel Lobby is so Beautiful the on site restaurant is very delicious the waiter recommended the wings while my wife had Oysters and i tell u , the wings are great. The Starlight Terrace is very Nice will stay here again in the future.

Henry was our bellhop and he was so awesome. Valet team was very friendly and attentive. Front desk was a bit slow, but great service. The Haunt bar and bar manager was great too. They made some great drinks for us. We stayed on a Friday and they had a great accoustic band playing. This place is a favorite because they are dog friendly and Travis park is perfect access for our dogs to take a break.

Had a great time at the hotel for a 1 night stay. Came in for a work trip and the staff did a great job making the visit very smooth and enjoyable. Vicki did a great job at the front desk resourcing me with the checked bag option. Dean at the bell hop did a great job serving my needs and efficiently checking and returning my bags. Staff at the conference room, cleaning lady, and bar staff were very friendly and hospitable! Hope to visit again soon!

Henry is an absolute gem! I cannot praise his valet service enough at St. Anthony hotel. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with a warm smile and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. His professionalism and efficiency in handling our vehicle were top-notch. Throughout our stay, Henry was always available, ensuring that our car was ready whenever we needed it. His friendly demeanor and attention to detail truly elevated our experience. If you're looking for exceptional valet service, Henry is the one to trust. Five stars all the way!

My wife and I stayed over a long holiday weekend. We usually enjoy the old, historic hotels that provide a great rate and service through Fine Hotels and Resorts with Amex. However, this stay was average, at best. The initial interactions at check in were more akin to staying at a Holiday Inn: short, mildly rude, and left a bad taste. She didn’t seem to like our early arrival, despite having the early check in (and then forgot to make sure our room and room keys were programmed for the late 4 pm check out, locking us out and necessitating a long wait at the front desk to regain entry). Maid service since the pandemic has been limited, I understand, but the first day they forgot to come at all, and we only had limited towels and one robe for two people. The breakfast restaurant was, again, average, though service there was superior. We didn’t get to try the restaurant or bar as there were many events in the hotel. Overall, this was the most disappointing experience with a Luxury Collection hotel we’ve had in our travels. The central location was its best characteristic, and other hotels in the area at a lower price point would likely serve you just as well.

Everything was amazing! We were here celebrating my boyfriend’s 40th and didn’t share that with the hotel, but it felt like they knew and treated us very well from the moment we entered. Carmine helped us with us with our luggage and was so careful with our belongings and attentive to detail, even hanging up our sweaters in the room. Then at midnight, when we were leaving the live music on the roof, his son was craving ice cream and we knew everything was completely closed and there was just no way he was going to get ice cream. We ran into Mark in the hallway, who heard our conversation, and completely surprised us in our room with chocolate ice cream shortly after. This trip was absolute perfection. Thank you so much Mark for being the cherry on top! Each Front Desk team member were very friendly and hospitable as well. To summarize, this hotel did not disappoint. Thank you all very much for an amazing trip and making the stay very memorable.

The service was excellent. From the front desk to the bellhop to the housekeeping everyone was friendly, helpful, and very professional. I was upgraded before I arrived due to my Titanium status and was impressed at the elegance of the lobby and 1st floor area. The junior suite king room was large and had a great view of the park. Some of the furniture was worn or very slightly stained and it could probably use a slight refresh. Also, I randomly had this kitchen (kinda) in my room but it was just a mini fridge, sink, and microwave with 100 empty drawers and cabinets. No cutlery of napkins or anything. Rather odd. The park across the street was filled with people through the day and night and there was a bus stop directly across from the lobby but it felt quiet and always safe. Easily walkable to the Alamo, riverwalk, and many restaurants.

Valet service by Troy was excellent on both checkin and checkout. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful - thanks Andre. Room was clean and well cooled. Couldn’t hear traffic below, so nice work in the noise reduction. Hotel is walking distance to plenty of great eateries. Made my stay for conference an easy one!

The hotel is lovely. It is in a fabulous area, close to so much. It was decorated beautifully for the holidays during our visit. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were traveling with another couple in San Antonio and we all stayed at the hotel. My friends booked a king guest room, which was a lovely corner room on the 9th floor. They booked their room on Expedia. When we booked our room through the hotels website, we opted for a single queen guest room with AAA discount. Our room is a small, but nice room. I was satisfied with it until I realized we paid almost $50-75 more for our room than any of the king rooms booked through the hotels website or a third party website (all of which were considerably nicer than our room). I know $$ is not that big of a deal, I’m just frustrated with myself that I didn’t research the rooms better and with the hotel that they would charge more for a less desirable room. I think this more of a case of buyer’s remorse. I highly recommend NOT getting the single queen room, because you can get a much nicer and larger room for less. On a positive note: Mario at the front desk was unbelievable kind and helpful. Kudos to the hotel for hiring such a great concierge.

The hotel as a whole was wonderful. The lobby is beautiful and inviting. The nightly music or themes they have are a lot of fun if you choose to stay and watch. Plenty of seating space. I would offer a few more options for breakfast, easy and simple for those not wanting too much. Otherwise, we would most definitely stay here again! The rooms are comfortable and very nice!

This hotel is wonderful. They have excellent service in all areas. One thing - when I was alone in our room, a man came in the room without knocking and quickly left without saying anything. I told security and the front desk. They said they'd look into it but I never heard why this happened. Beautiful hotel overall though. I would definitely stay there again!

We stayed here overnight and had the best time! The hotel itself is beautiful and well kept. The rooms were upgraded, but still had some original antique accents. Visually stunning and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant (Rebelle) for dinner and it was exquisite. The food was top tier and the service was above reproach. Although we are from the area, we enjoyed this little slice of paradise. Above all the staff were welcoming and personable. They made us feel at home and we will definitely be returning at our soonest chance. Thanks for the memories! Shout out to Miguel for helping get us settled in, Brennan for providing the best table service, Henry for making sure we had everything we needed, Ovi for getting us checked in/out. The concierge were both kind and helpful. I could go on for days.

Best service I have received at a hotel hands down. The bellman Henry was so extremely kind and helpful. We brought our Great Dane puppy and the service he received was just as phenomenal as ours. They loved and greeted him every time he came down stairs and gave him a sweet welcome note with his name on it and some treats and a water bowl. They care about the service they provide here and strive to make every guest feel as welcome and taken care of as possible. Will be staying here every trip we take to San Antonio from no on.

I’ve had the pleasure of staying at the St. Anthony multiple times over the past few years, and each time I’m blown away with the ambience and how lovely the rooms are, the food in the restaurant, and of course the awesome bar. However, this latest stay I was impressed with the helpful, kind, and thoughtful service of Henry. He went above and beyond and reminded me why this is hands down my favorite hotel in San Antonio! It’s really the little things that make a hotel experience special, and his extra efforts (after already assisting me with getting my items upstairs) to get me a spray bottle to keep my plants and flowers happy and fresh in the blistering Texas sun touched my heart. I truly feel he sincerely cares about making each guest’s experience positive. Wishing Henry much continued success with the St. Anthony, and of course I look forward to staying again as soon as possible!

What a great experience! The NY strip, the charbroiled oysters and the lamb kabobs were spectacularly well flavored. The wine list is extensive and the creme brulee was delicious. The overall service was fabulous. We recommend the Happy Hour menu.

Every single thing about this hotel was excellent! Especially the staff! They were all EXTREMELY nice & helpful. They went above & beyond from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. Cannot say enough nice things about them, & about the hotel itself. We really enjoyed our stay & would highly recommend it to anyone! Very impressed!

Perpetually blown away by this hotel -- I no longer live in San Antonio but I have decided to basically make this my home every time I visit. The remodeled decor is very tasteful and the beds are unusually comfortable, staff is also very punctual. Expect to pay top dollar but it is worth it! The cocktail napkins in the lobby bar are a very cool touch as well!

This luxury hotel is in downtown San Antonio and we’ll worth the visit. The valets take care of your car and also help with bags. (Take cash for tips) The check in process is painless and I was even acknowledged as a Marriott Elite member. The rooms are huge and the beds are very comfy. Since covid they added the coffee machines back to the room and the English Breakfast tea is crisp and delicious.

The rooftop is absolutely amazing! I don’t know where to start or end with this place. Valet parking. Customer service is superb. Guest services is top notch. It’s located right near everything. The Alamo is in walking distance. The room had everything, plush robes, walk in sauna type shower, water closet with privacy glass, the bed is super comfortable, room service and an indoor pool!!!!! 11/10 for sure

Went here for a valentines dinner and dance. Was disappointed in the "buffet" dinner. Fatty slices of bacon on Asian bread and hushpuppies. No salad at all, but they had a cheese and salami tray... and a decent desert bar. Very surprising since tickets were $60 each. At least the band was excellent, so not a total bust. The hotel is beautiful, and a must visit.

I want to thank Sarah at the front desk 4/9/23. She was so kind to print out the haunted stories of the hotel for me and my daughter. We were downtown exploring the different hotels that were haunted. And Sarah didn't have to go out of her way to do that, but she went the extra mile and even came searching for us to give us the paper. I wanted to shine light on her hospitality and eagerness to please. Me and my daughter are looking forward to spending a few nights this summer to explore more haunted areas of downtown. We will be choosing the St Anthony to stay because of Sarah and how kind and helpful she was. It made all the difference. And she needs to be recognized for doing a great job 👏 👍 see yall this summer ☀️

Great valet service, especially Henry goes above and beyond- professional, prompt and courteous service! Lobby and commons areas have a gorgeous vintage aesthetic. Room was as expected for Marriott brand; comfortable bed with plush bedding. Shower tile can be very slippery, use caution. Note: no floor level ice machines at this location- room service will deliver ice in 1/2gal bag- quick, friendly service. No refrigerator in room either, I was informed a mini fridge could be provided by request.

I wanted to provide a review for the bell men Henry and Dean. They were absolutely fantastic. They were patient getting us from our room all the way to our car and we had some additional luggage and hard to handle items since we had our 3 kids with us and they made it a breeze. Great hotel and even better staff! Thank you for another great stay!

  • 5/5 Katherine W. 10 months ago on Google
What a wonderful experience! From the minute we walked in, the staff were so attentive and polite. The hotel was so fascinating with all of the nooks and crannies and beautiful designs. The live jazz in the lobby that evening was really a treat. The room was very clean and well appointed. We were fortunate enough to get a corner room so that was an extra perk. Our eighth floor room overlooked the church next door. Stunning. It was just a short walk to the Riverwalk and everything that that offers. I highly recommend this hotel. This is the second time we stayed there. The first time was 27 years ago last week... On our wedding night. It was so fun to just revisit everything all over again. I won't be waiting 27 years again.

Our stay at The St. Anthony was great! The hotel room was clean and we loved the fact that we were able to book a room that also had a living room. Our daughter was able to sleep in a roll away bed and she had plenty of space. The food was great both for breakfast in their restaurant, and at the pool. We had fun at the pool after a full day at Sea World. Overall we loved staying here and would recommend if you are visiting San Antonio.

Overall the experience was OK. When you left the hotel from one of the exits to a main street, the entrance had not been cleaned. The area around the doorway smelled like urine, and we literally had to step over urine about three feet away from the door. And it was never cleaned while we were there. We were only there for a night, but used that entrance multiple times during our stay. The hotel lobby area was worn. The furniture is upholstered in velvet, and it was worn and there were large areas of the seating where there was no longer any velvet. This isn’t a place I would host anything because I’d be embarrassed to take anyone there if I were the host. The service, however, was good. The staff was professional and friendly. The room was comfortable and spacious.

My sister had her wedding here and it was stunning! The hotel was very accommodating and helpful. This historic spot is quite the place to stay. Beds are comfortable, rooms are clean. The light switches are odd and not easy to use. The only thing is that on the first night one of our party checked her car into the valet and he laptop was stolen from her car. Apparently over 40 cars were left unlocked that night. Very unfortunate but once again the hotel was very helpful and apologetic. Overall we had a good stay

Don't forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a hotel. This web site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of my favorites in the area. I have been coming here for years. If you stay for a few days you won't be let down. Beautiful hotel! The staff was very helpful and nice! Loved the jazz music and Henry was the best when helping with our bags and anything that we needed for our room, he was happy to assist us with anything that we asked for, also my husband had problems with his computer and all the staff was doing everything that they could do to assist him with his problems! Rebelle has such awesome food and drinks , we did not get to check out the Haunt bar because it was closed for a private party but I am sure it does not disappoint so with all of this being said if you are looking for a great place to stay while in San Antonio you will find it all at the St. Anthony Hotel with dining, comfort and service!

  • 5/5 Ray M. 1 year ago on Google
Loved every experience here! Room was perfect. Bedding was very comfortable. There is no ice machine on the floor, but we were told just to dial "0" and ask for it. We did several times, and a large sack of ice was delivered immediately. We loved the large bathroom and the ingenious light switches that actually have labels on them: a simple but efficient stroke. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful in every way. Valet service does take a bit of time to get your car, but they were hustling as fast as they could. We will definitely make this our San Antonio hotel home!

We had a wonderful time at the beautiful hotel. It was clean. The food was amazing, beautiful lobby and amazing attentive staff. The lotions and soaps smell AMAZING!!! And our bell hop Henry was the sweetest man! It’s in the middle of everything very walkable to fun spots nearby and ubers arrive extremely quickly to this location! Absolutely recommend!
