The food was delicious. We came during happy hour and the place was pack. We were seated right away. Our server was very friendly. I would have given this place a 5 star if it wasn’t for the service time. We waited at least 30 minutes for our appetizer and that’s because we called our server to see how much longer. Server disappeared for a while. I told my wife that he probably went ahead and cooked our appetizer and laughed about it. Just like I predicted he walked out of the kitchen carrying our appetizer. Total time for our main course came out about 20 minutes later after getting our appetizer. We been here before and have never experienced a long wait like this. I don’t take pleasure giving this place a 3 star today but I can’t ignore the fact that service took so long. Not our server’s fault. We still gave him a 20% tip. We will be back.

Quite the experience and the food was delicious. It is a Puerto Rican place and none of their food has Chile. Zero spice. However their fried chicken is to die for. The plantain dessert super good. Their mango Margarita was just right. Happy birthday presentation for my son in law was so nice way different than your usual birthday experience. It is very pricey but so worth it. It is not menu kid friendly and reservations is probably your best bet because it's always very busy with large families. $$$

Good atmosphere. The waitress very nice and helpful. Food is fair every thing is the same flavor not even simple salt and peper. Sweet ice tea is only water and sugar the worst. Presentation is excellent. I will try once again . Good luck.

I got the pork and my mom got the ropa vieja with plantains (sooo good and sweet) and arroz con gandules. It was definitely worth the wait and my family's first time eating Puerto Rican. A little salt was needed for my pork. They also offer different flavors of Puerto Rican soda! Will be coming back to try some more.

The Puerto Rican experience was good. I had the mofongo with las fritas, the pork was good, but I would prefer a little spice in my mofongo, but it was good. Appetizer was tostones, double fried plantains, & they were very good. My wife had the La Chuleta, & her pork chops were good. The sweet plantains were excellent, her arroz con gandules was a very tasty rice dish. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try Puerto Rican food.

Food was pretty good, atmosphere is very similar to the old Rosario’s. Food seasoning was good and heavy. Wish there was live music more often though!

Luna Rosa finds its place in San Antonio with a great location! Our service got off to a slow start, but once Luis made contact he provided outstanding customer service my entire visit! The atmosphere is great & clean! The food was really good! We started off with the Caribbean Nachos with beef, they are phenomenal! I ordered the peril, white rice & black beans! The platting & presentation was impressive, see pictures below! The pernil was very good! The black beans needed more seasoning & to be cooked down more! Going to San Juan spoiled me with black beans, here there is room for improvement. In my opinion if you like Puerto Rican food, I think you will love Luna Rosa! If you looking for great Puerto Rican food, I highly recommend Luna Rosa! Enjoy!

The place was really nice. The food was cold, and the service was horrible. They sat us down right away. It took 15 minutes before we got our drink order and that's because I had to go look for someone to take our drink order. When we were ready to order, again I had to go look for someone to come to our table to get our order. We took our daughter to this place for her 21st birthday, and it was a bad experience. We tried ordering dessert and we never got it.

Love the fact that all the great things we had heard about the place was true. Very clean, staff was attentive and helpful. Food and drinks were on point. Everytime someone's food came out around us, we joked about how we should just stay all day and drink and eat because everything looked so good.

Drinks were amazing. Food could use more salt. Potatoes tasted burnt but great sauce. Loved the Calamari. The red snapper was great but for $35 it was anorexic, it should be taken off the menu until they get plumper ones. The pulled pork was dry. The butter sauce shrimp was amazing. The beef empanadas were omg...loved because of full flavor. It was a hit and miss on the food. The chocolate cake was meeeeh ....but my husband said the bread pudding was amazing.

It was a good place to find. We had one dish we went looking for, we found it, ate it, was not impressed ( bias because while in Porta Rico we had REAL DEAL!!! I don't know, I can say that the rice was a little overcooked, and that was part of the problem. HOWEVER!!!!!!! we had ZERO problems with the remaining three dishes, full of flavor, cooked to our liking, thT dam sandwich was the Bomb 💣. The lunch special that's an enchilada, but not rolled, yup get that.. We will DEFINITELY return. Oh, our young lady that served us ( shame on me for forgetting her name ) she was to the max on customer service, we let that reflect in our tip, as well as acknowledging her in her presence. Oh yes, those drinks were not to be missed as well. Go eat her folks.

Super cool vibe downtown. Delicious tostones and bacon wrapped dates. The pork was a bit dry, but had great flavor. Mixed drinks are strong

We were visiting and came across this gem and we are so glad we did. Food is great. Service was awesome! The plantain soup which is free is the bomb!!! Definitely will come back when we are back in San Antonio.

This is the best Puerto Rican cuisine restaurant I’ve been in the Central/South of US. We were actually planning on going to some steak house by the River Walk. We end up stopping here because at a traffic light we saw the atmosphere from our truck. Once we got in, the restaurant wasn’t very packed. They had live dj going on, their servers were great with us. We ordered drinks and appetizers. They brought complementary Plantain Soup and it was great to start off. They brought our appetizers the Fried Cheese with Guaya sauce and Cuban Style Croquettes. Both were amazing. Their drinks are excellent and exotic, the Puerto Rican Mule and the Puerto Rican Old Fashioned hit the spot with their special touch of DonQ Añejo and DonQ Gold. The Mofongo with fried Pork and the Mofongo with Shrimps were so good I thought I was back in Puerto Rico eating at a restaurant. Buttom line this place is so good that I recommend it.

Magnificent Puerto Rican fare may be found here. This place is great. Parking a bit of a pain - but that's a vestige of being in a great area. Food & service were top notch!

Very nice Puerto Rican restaurant. Our server was nice and informative. She had great recommendations on food items. We started with plantains - delicious. I had their camarones al ajillo - absolutely spectacular. My husband had their grilled octopus special, and he said it was delicious. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed my lunch at this restaurant!!! My husband being from Puerto Rico he found the food to be very authentic, and nostalgic of home! I enjoyed myself very much and we will be back with the rest of our family very soon. Pernell is my favorite, and it was extremely delicious, perfectly seasoned. Beautiful restaurant great vibe and amazing food. Carlisle the red manager was so helpful and exhibited exceptional customer service! Can’t wait to return!

The food - every bite was heavenly and mouthwatering, the service - long wait but worth it (make a reservation in advance), the atmosphere - it was very loud so those with more sensitive hearing will have issues. Not a place for kids under 10. Beautiful decorating, layouts a bit crowded and there's no booths so don't expect a ton of privacy; however the volume of music makes up for the lack of space, the only people you'll hear are those that are at your table. This is absolutely a gem of a restaurant and I'll be bringing dates here in the future.
