Okay here's the thing, it is a very nice place to go and hang out. Picnic or whatever, but the fishing absolutely sucks. If you love getting snagged on every single cast from underwater vegetation then be my guest. You pay money to go in there and have a horrible time, you have to literally Wade about a hundred yards into the water to get a good cast. Not a lot of fish activity other than 1 inch red drum. Not my ideal Place although the sunsets are absolutely amazing as you can see below. I do not recommend fishing at Braunig Lake. Everything is expensive as well so get ready to spend your rent money lol

If I could rate them at 0 stars I would, the customer service from the big white rude lady w the glasses & her hair a dam mess is horrible, sheโ€™s lazy couldnโ€™t even get me a bag of ice & said they were out of all snacks, not to mention we pay monthly to bring our boat their & according to her it was to windy she wouldnโ€™t even let us park our boat their so we could just fish,we had to go all the way back home literally I live 35 mins away from their, they need to get rid of her sorry, idk who she is or who she thinks she is but she belongs no where near a place where u have to tend to customers or people period.

Have a yearly pass but if the wind is even slightly blowing they wonโ€™t let you go out with your boat. The staff is rude, never answers the phone and will cuss you if you ask a question. They need to completely fire and rehire or get another management company to run the lake. Trash everywhere, filthy restrooms and general lack of cleanliness. Do not recommend at all.

My cousin came down from Austin to spend time with us. He came to the lake and got here at 8:01pm. The lady who has the authority to open and close the gate (which I witnessed and she said herself) refused to let him in. Yes, I understand it โ€œcloses at 8โ€ but for him to come down from Austin and arrive at 8:01 and you DENY him entry??? Thatโ€™s just cold hearted and ridiculous. She wasnโ€™t even nice about it either, she was very rude and had a negative attitude. As I was explaining the story, she cut me off and said โ€œ nope, if you ainโ€™t here before 8 youโ€™re not getting in.โ€

Caught a few fish here just think the entry fees are a bit out of this world . I come from California land of pay for everything and even they dont charge as much to enter any lake or park.

A couple months out of the year it is the best place for catching red drum I normally use 2/0 - 4/0 circle hooks not double action just regular circle hook on a slider sinker rig for bate I use gizzard shad or worm or combination of both I recommend actually walk into the water waist deep and cast I have the best results that way most people I see casting from the shore don't seem to have the best of luck

Very peaceful in the early evening. The summer heat begins to subside, when the gentle breeze off the water calms you into a state of relaxation. Not just for fishing. Peace and relaxation is why I love going.

There is one girl there at the window that gives you a hard time about everything even if you are a season holder. I go there all the time and have a been a season pass holder since 2015 and go there almost every day. If I could, I would give it zero stars..
