I will never spend money at this establishment. Although I am a fan of fair trade and ethically sourced goods and buy them at every opportunity, I am NOT a fan of retailers who are discriminatory. On 3 separate occasions, I have walked into the store and have been completely ignored by the staff and/or the owner. I find it ironic that this retailer carries goods from countries inhabited by Black and Brown people, but when those same demographics enter their establishment we are completely ignored. Yesterday, I decided to give them one last opportunity to provide a modicum of decent customer service and they failed. I intended to purchase some Haitian art because it is a part of my cultural identity. Every single person shopping was greeted upon entering the store. I was not. Not only was I ignored completely by the salesperson.... the owner (or one of the owners) who was behind the counter literally glanced up from the paperwork she was doing, looked me up and down from head to toe, and returned to work without so much as a Hi. It was very deliberate. Before becoming an entrepreneur I worked in luxury retail for 20 years. The very LEAST of the things you can do to service and accommodate potential clientele is to acknowledge them when they enter your establishment. There are PLENTY of and Black and Brown makers in San Antonio. In Texas. And around the world. Support them by either buying from them directly or finding another retailer. Zero stars. Do not recommend.

A great place to shop for unique gifts for those special or hard to buy for friends! Pricing is very reasonable with a ready to help, but not pushy, sales staff. It is nice to know that the crafts are all sourced from small villages and artisans around the world. Love it! Makes you feel better just shopping there.

I visit the store often every time I’m at the Pearl. There’s always some little goodie to pick up , great for giftgiving. The manager Shelly is always fun to chat with, she always offers samples of some goodie she’s made. I suggest you visit as there is no other store quite like it.

This is an awesome little shop! They offer several unique items, such as hand crafted cards, Tibet singing bowls, hand made clothing, soaps, and much more. It's definitely a place worth checking out at the pearl!

This store is a gem, rarely do stores of this genre rate a review , but the management and ambiance is Amazing. One would think this place is a sole proprietorship.. you'd be wrong. Shelly hanzelka maddocks runs a jewel of a store... Worth the visit...

This store is so great, especially at the holidays! Love how each item is unique and the variety of products is unmatched! Shopping here is especially easy with such a helpful, kind and knowledgeable store manager! Called the store recently with a few questions and spoke with her, she was fantastic!

Great place to shop for gifts. They have a huge variety and the staff are very knowledgeable about their inventory. They can tell you about the artisans and initiatives associated with different products and help you find gifts for hard to shop for people. The products are very fun and unique so the gifts feel thoughtful and it's really enjoyable to look around. The store is also invested in the local community in addition to the global initiatives and supports local organizations.

Amazing store and staff! Beautiful handcrafted jewelry. Fabulous home products and so many things to create a worldly aesthetic. Unique & one of a kind gifts too. There is something for everyone at every price. It is so nice to shop where the manager and staff clearly care so much about the store and its mission!

One of the many stores in the Pearl where you’ll find quality, hand crafted items for your home, clothing, and even food items. I found some very good chocolates, good smelling soaps, and ornaments for my Christmas tree during my last visit. The employees are super friendly and helpful, too. Wonderful addition to the Pearl.

Went today with my husband to shop. Went in the the store looking at items and was asked MULTIPLE times could they hold the items. I politely said no. What made me walk out and said f$@k this store was a skinny girl in a grey sweater. Every time I turned around she was close by. I just put my items back and walked out. NO, the workers and the grey sweater girl weren’t following the other customers around like they were doing me. Sad thing is, I’ve shopped at this store before for their woven baskets but will never go back again. Tell your workers not everyone is a d@mn shoplifter.

You feel like you might be making a difference buying. Hopefully this is true. The staff will always greet you to make you feel welcome. Lots of things to buy. We like the collection of singing bowls. There is a calm to the store that males us visit nearly every Saturday during the Pearl's Farmer's Market.
