Nifty, quirky, and a nice change of pace. Really nice layout that gives more of a casual, relaxed vibe. Set up in different "rooms" or "living spaces" so you really feel like you're just hanging out with your friends. Nice little game room off to the side with darts, pool and a couple of arcade games. (I hope they fix the pinball) The food was really, really good and about average price for bar food. Expensive, but not outlandishly so. The drinks are priced on the higher end, but they do seem to be of the fancier variety. Around $10. They also have beer which is mostly well priced. Waitress was amazing. Very attentive and helpful when selecting drinks. Curious to see it on a busier night or on one of their kareoke/theme nights. My one BIG note is that the front door needs better signage and be made more inviting. The exterior does not match the interior and my friend and I almost left because we at first couldn't figure out what door was the entrance, and then once we did were put off by how unmarked it was. Great vibe inside. Just gotta get past the parking lot.

Don’t interpret the 5 stars as me recommending you come here to have multiple cocktails, because this is not that type of bar. It’s a neighborhood bar, not a cocktail bar. BUT if you want a bar where you can knock back some beers, maybe play a few rounds of pool and just generally chill, then this is the place. It’s no fuss, eclectic, and straightforward. Honestly, it’s an Austin bar in San Antonio. You just gotta know what you’re getting into. If you’re high maintenance, then this may not be the place for you. I enjoyed it, but the median age did seem like the early to late thirties crowd and it smelled a little musty, so I may not be the target demo. I recommend, just know the type of place it is.

First parking, when their lot is full DO NOT park at the gun shop, they will tow. There is other parking on El Mio street in front of buildings directly across from the bar after hours. If you like trivia nights to be more easy going than competitive, then check it out here. If you follow them on social media then you’ll see all the other themed nights they host like karaoke and vinyl nights. They have indoor seating that includes tables and cosy spots with couches as well as a game room and outdoor seating. They have good prices on both beers and cocktails. For food, they serve pizzas or you can order from The Dogfather who will deliver straight to you in the bar. The setting is friendly, cosy, and vintage with a modern style twist. I especially love the use of hollowed out wooden televisions for liquor shelves. Overall, this bar safely summons you to make yourself at home and have a great time.

The Bang Bang Bar is a chill, cool place to hang out, listen to karaoke, dance, eat, drink, and play games. The DJ is absolutely amazing and can sing oh so heavenly! She’s beyond amazing. Karaoke was good and funny! The bar tenders know how to fix really good drinks and the pizza was so delicious. I ordered The Triple Threat. The pizza is better than every pizza I’ve eaten. The servers are friendly and attentive. The crowd was diverse and everybody had a great time. I can’t wait to go again.

Wonderful Atmosphere - Karaoke, trivia, and 1/2 price pizza on specific days is GREAT! The staff are great. The furniture and interior of BBR is slightly antique-ish, bold, yet edgy and cool!

It was our first time coming here. My spouse and I had a great time. The drinks were absolutely delicious and unique. The bartender was fast and polite. The music was amazing, a totally different vibe than the other bars. It sounded like a 80s dark pop dance music . The staff made sure we were taken care of. The place is so cozy with the comfy seatings, and areas for groups. There’s an arcade with cool games. I would definitely recommend this place.

eclectic, alt bar with cute, comfortable, antique furniture and decorations. lots of good drink choices, and food from the dog father if you want (expensive but not have had myself). service is quick and friendly. they play some pretty sweet music, as the night we went they had 90’s night (nirvana, no doubt, hole, etc). there is also a pool table, skee-ball, darts and some classic arcade machines. really cool place !

Don’t know about any food here but the drinks, bartenders and atmosphere are awesome. Great eclectic bar with a cool atmosphere. Lighting in my video looks a little lighter than the bar actually is. Love it!

My favorite dive bar! I ordered a yummy Lemon something or other cocktail and it was delicious! Nice separate seating sections for glorious conversation and intimacy and retro games in the back room a plenty. Waitress was witty, friendly, and refreshing. Bathrooms were clean and accessible. Great little spot.

First time there. An employee noticed me trying to familiarize myself and explained the layout of the bar. Bartender was very kind and offered to give a few moments for me to look at the menu. I got the orange blossom old fashion. Clean glass, beautiful drink, and the taste was smooth with no harshness. Not much of a place for solo drinkers but, nevertheless a calm; relaxing environment.

Great joint with excellent drinks and yummy pizza for munchies. Plus the Hot Dog place, Dogfathers, is right next door and hand delivers! Had a blast vending the Moon Market for Halloween weekend, lots of great vendors, and the hosts and servers are awesome. Has a great vibe and even better decor, definitely will be back as a vendor and a customer.

It’s a nice comfy atmosphere. Good drinks and the staff are very friendly. The cucumber chamoy shot was pretty tasty as for the Moscow mule. Would say this would be a good place to start if you intend to do some bar hopping. Place can get a little overcrowded and you may find it may take anywhere from 5-20 minutes to place your drink order.

We enjoyed our visit. The drinks were well made & great presentation. Atmosphere was fun & eclectic with great music. The bartender at the bar was great, those waiting tables not as friendly. Overall a fun spot with relaxing spaces to hang out & enjoy good company & drinks. I would definitely visit again.

Great cocktails. Friendly staff. Sunday night karaoke has a chill crowd. As a non drinker can enjoy the atmosphere and the mocktails.

This is a great hidden treasure. Found it while celebrating a friend's bd and we had such a good time. Bartender was awesome! He was very friendly and his drinks are bomb. Deco is old school like there is a tv playing I love Lucy with some vampire flare. You guys need to try it out don't be intimidated when you first walk in they will make you feel at home in no time.

So a friend had suggested we visit this bar, it was during the day while we wait for another friend and it was slow. But the decor was very eclectic. The staff were nice and the drinks were good. Seemed to be a welcoming place. Would like to see what it's like during the more active later hours.

I almost hate to say how great this bar is, only because I want to keep it all to myself. The bar is an eclectic mix of nostalgia and so much retro goodness along with innovated drinks, great music and lots of events and happenings. The staff is absolutely fantastic and super friendly. My wife and I come here weekly and never get tired of this wonderful place. This is our favorite neighborhood bar.

It was nice. The drinks were pretty good with regards to taste, but a little bit on the pricey side. It got really hot in their game room area so we ended up leaving. Also because their music selection wasn't the greatest. It was more like a sit and drink kind of place and we wanted a little more energy.

By far my most favorite dive bar ever!! Mainly because of the bartender, Jess!! You want a fabulous cocktail and the sweetest most consistent bar tender ever.... Come during the day esp on Monday for half a price pizzas!!unless it's a weekend she works nights!! You'll thank me and become a new regular as I did, but going strong 2 years now!! JESS YOU ROCK!!
