We LOVE this hotel, by far the highlight of our stay each time we come to Gran Canaria, we won’t look at another hotel. This has been our go to for some years now and it never ceases to disappoint. The hotel is immaculate, staff are friendly, entertainment is fantastic and the rooms are kept spotless. With a free minibar topped up every 48hrs! Being a fussy eater, I wouldn’t like to comment on how the food tasted, however what I had was delicious, particularly the Chinese restaurant you can book (included in all inclusive) and everything else looked amazing. Wide variety every night. We’ve been home from our 12 day holiday here for less than 48 hours and already rebooked. Excellent!!

Lovely place on the seafront. Staff helpful and friendly, and didn't mind my terrible Spanish ! Main restaurant was lovely, as were the 4 themed restaurants. Italian was brilliant, couldn't recommend highly enough. The Atlantico was lovely with a good choice and nice views. The a la carte offering was excellent and the steak cooked to perfection. Not a huge choice but a good experience. The Chinese restaurant was our least favourite. The staff weren't interested, it was hard to get attention for a drink and the bloke that was cutting the ribs was treating them like they were gold plated!! So don't bother with that one. Overall, a brilliant place well worth it. There are a lot of cockroaches around so if you don't like them, go prepared with a spray. Great holiday thank you Riu.

Totally breathtaking place. We visited about 10yrs ago before it was revamped & loved it then, now on returning we were stunned at the beauty & attention 2 detail of this revamp. Well worth paying extra 4 this place. We have since re booked 4 the rooms with private pools & cant wait 2 return. 5 star place, 5 star weather, 5 star treatment. Weather was great & hotel very clean, maids are excellent, all staff friendly, rooms are nice. The turns/entertainment is excellent in bubbles nightclub & there are bars everywhere 4 alcohol, food everywhere, snacks & dining rooms ; eatery areas all over. Also outside entertainment at the main hotel part & the purple bar does slots through the day were someone comes in, 1 afternoon we had a lady with an electric violin come in & it was brilliant music. Foam party on saturday t time at the main pool, that was unexpected & fun. U feel like royalty in this hotel. I gave it 5 stars, but really it needs 10! Totally in love with the place.

We have stayed here for our first time and we have had a great time until today unfortunately the Director was on site and advised that no one was allowed to play with any type of ball or inflatable in any of the 6 pools all of the parents are up in arms and very unhappy children having to take their toys out with nothing to play with one lady o spoke to had stayed 4 times previously and said they have never had this before the lifeguards were embarrassed and at one stage they asked security to step in and advise customers I won’t be revisiting and neither will a lot of parents all upset that kids can’t enjoy their toys in the pool no common sense here I understand if the poops were packed maybe some restrictions but today’s decision is mindless and is a poor reflection on Rui as an organisation towards the fee paying guests the Director wouldn’t come to the area but we were advised we needed to go and see in reception this has caused a lots of unnecessary stress for all guests

Overall we were disappointed with this Hotel. Ill start with the positives; staff are friendly, the hotel is well maintained and very clean and it has 3 separate pool areas including an adult only pool which was appreciated. Unfortunately now the negatives; the food is repetitive and very average, this is not a proper all inclusive experience - eg no mini bar in the room just x2 beers replaced every other day (which considering we paid £2000 for the week is ridiculous), the drinks (Wine, beer & cocktails) are very poor, the entertainment was like stepping back 15-20 years which TBH was actually quite funny and entertaining in its own right, we ended up eating out from the 2nd day onwards as the quality of the breakfast in particular was really bad (eggs were not cooked properly which resulted in 4 of our party getting ill on the first day), no apology from the hotel - I quote "that is how we have our scrambled eggs in Spain". There's no option or flexibility for eating out of prescribed set times so compared to our previous all inclusive holiday experiences this was a disappointing week and certainly wont book RIU Hotels in the future. Ps happy for the hotel to contact me as of yet we have had no apology or follow up from the reception staff, thanks Keith

Beautiful hotel, in beautiful grounds. Just as we were leaving at the beginning of April they were starting a refurbishment so it will no doubt be even better. Very good food options with 3 alternatives to the regular buffet. Every member if staff we encountered could not have been any friendlier or happy to help. Great pools, lots of sunbeds. Fab destination.

Friendly staff in main restaurant were very friendly, food selection was good but standard lower than 3 years ago when we last stayed. Excellent swimming pools. Staff at atlantico bar were uninterested and slightly rude. Food wasn't as good as in the past, less selection. Toilets in main reception area not child friendly (hand dryers out of reach) less activities than in the past. My parents in law have been visiting twice a year for the best part of 25 years were disappointed this time. Nobody from reception enquired as to how our stay was. We will not be returning again.

Hotel was fabulous. Grounds were all well kept with beautiful Palm trees. We had a room on the side overlooking the quiet pool and being on top floor views were great. Food was very good plenty to choose from. We normally stay at Riu Vistamar, but thought we would have a change, and pleased that we did.staff are all so friendly and polite.brilliant location right on the Prom, nice w to

I don’t care what people say. This place makes me happier than Disney-world and Disney land. I’ve been to over 14 vacations in the last three years and this is the best vacation ever. Great food. Best staff ever and just so positive. For the staff: my room number is/was 1007 For the people: leave the haters and ignore the negative reviews. This place is amazing!

We stayed here for a wk during midterm as a family of 4. We had a super enjoyable week. We were very happy with the hotel, beautiful grounds, hotel, rooms. Lots of sun loungers, so no mad panic trying to secure them. Lots of activities, kids went to kids club and really enjoyed it. Food was good especially in the additional restaurants... this is what made it,being able to vary it up. I will say however we found the food a big let down in the a la carte restaurant Kulinarium. Very little on menu, and wasn't the best, the food combination on the menu just didn't do it for us.For example I had poached egg as starter and it came with some kind of thick bland leek soup around it,if I'm not mistaken, this was only OK.Then for mains we both had steak and asked for it medium rare, mine came out rare, and husband's was correctly cooked,so we swapped mid way through eating with each other. I didn't really like the tiny mixed grain accompaniment, and then tiny amount of mushroom and spinach was just too small. It felt like just eating a lump of meat and nothing else....plus steak was kind of flavourless. We both agreed the steak in Athlantico grill restaurant was far far nicer. The brownie for dessert was lovely. Our room was made up everyday.Main entertainment was usually at 9pm and we just found out a bit late, however our kids are 5 and 7 and they were wrecked by that time, so we had to retire to the room.Im sure they're allowing for folk to finish their meals by having it at this time. We arrived late in Friday and had to race for food before it closed, and the white party was in full flow, that seemed really good....had maybe half an hr at it, and had to leave as kids tired. The staff seem to put in alot of effort. We absolutely loved our stay in the hotel and would definitely not hesitate to stay again....10/10 holiday

As of today still under construction, finished install of glass windows on the sea front restaurant still a bit work to do but it’s in the high 30’s

Best all inclusive we've had. Food was really nice, lots of choice. Afternoon entertainment at the adult pool was excellent. No hidden charges. Enjoyed our daily prom walks. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Definately consider this again in the future

A typical all inclusive hotel with guests to suit. Food during the daytime was very low quality and disappointing. The evening foodstuffs were just about adequate including the "speciality" restaurants. The exception was breakfast where most offerings (but not all) were good. Staff were all friendly, well trained and helpful. If you like this kind of hotel and are easily pleased with mass food and drinks, mass entertainment and good swimming pools, this is for you.

Wonderful location, all you can eat, all you can drink! All inclusive. What's not to like! Staff are very helpful, weather is exactly what you expect from to this part of the world. And in walking distance of decent shops, promenade and beaches. Don't forget the suncream. Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel staff very welcoming and friendly, room great, food was very good but started to get a bit repetitive towards the end of the second week. The entertainment was not that good catering mainly for the German and Spanish guests, other than that a great place to holiday.

Hotel: Beautiful. Rooms are great as are the pools, of which there is plenty of choice from quiet adults only, just for kids and lively family pools. The grounds are spotless and the 4 bars are great. Entertainment: very good. The animation team and great (fabulous dancers) and the external acts were generally really good apart from the Motown Revical act that sang The Beatles?? Location: gorgeous. Meloneras has lots of fabulous high end shops, bars and restaurants and the short walk to Maspalomas Beach & Sand Dunes is lovely, especially at sunset. Hotel Service: Generally good. Staff are polite but could be a little warmer. An "hola" is fine but a bit of chat goes a long way sometimes. Food: Fine, typical all inclusive fayre so not cordon blue but lots of choice and perfectly acceptable Overall, a fantastic holiday. Would definitely go back and recommend.

Amazing hotel! Super clean and food is incredible!! Great areas for kids and adults. Brilliant location, views are incredible, close to the beach and the shopping centre. Although the hotel was so great we never wanted to leave. It’s also very close to the bus station so you can access anywhere easily. The staff were amazing, friendly and very helpful, especially as our Spanish isn’t too great! Would highly recommend to anyone!

If you would like to be somewhere that offers privacy as well as the chance to fully immerse yourself in hotel entertainment, activities and facilities then Rui Club is for you. Staff are fantastic, the entertainments team work hard day and night. Awesome fitness classes and exceptional performances in the evening. It really is outstanding. The food here is superb and so much of it! Wonderful bars to relax in and the facilities are enough to keep anyone busy day and night during their stay.

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Riu Gran Canaria. The Hotel service was amazing, nothing is too much trouble. When we arrived everything was explained about where to eat, and other services offered. Our cases were taken to our room for us. I have a few medical conditions, which means I have poor mobility and also I need access to medication daily from a freezer. The medication, the dining room staff took care of for me and I have to say all the dining room staff have been beyond helpful and kind offering superb service. In particular Ivan who also took care of my gluten free needs and retrieved my medication most days. He offered me gluten free toast in the mornings and also said I could have pasta and other gluten free options if requested the evening before. However there was a vast array of choice in the dining rooms. On our first evening, although we had been given a kind gesture of a free upgrade, we were not that keen on our room. It was a bit noisy for us. My husband told the reception team, who then moved us to a quieter room with no fuss what so ever. They were also kind and courteous. Getting around the hotel with a scooter is no problem what so ever, I took mine, but I saw others who hired scooters there. There is a very near taxi rank literally just outside the drive and the taxi drivers know the island well. We used these and my scooter folded, fit in the back no problem. If you need a disabled taxi reception can arrange for you. There was a mixed age range of people from older couples to younger families. There's plenty of things to do, the animation team try to cater for all, crazy games, French boules, aqua fit, salsa, art, darts, volleyball. The animation team take great care to try to involve everyone and are great fun. The whole team were again amazing and helpful, I cant remember all their names, but Eva looked after us well in art most of our week and Saki and Gemma were alot of fun playing games. We didn't see much of the children entertainers but saw quite a few of the team in the shows, which again were amazing! They work so hard and I can't believe how much energy they have! Our room was kept spotless and you can request bed change by leaving a card on your bed. Towels on the floor are replaced. The cleaning team again are so polite and lovely and always say 'Ola' as you walk by. We had an issue in our room with the plug in the basin sticking, I mentioned to the domestic team and said we can manage, but you might like to do before the next guests arrive. It was fixed within the hour!. The bar staff were also fantastic. I found the cocktails not really to my taste, so I came up with allsorts of concoctions and the bar staff were more than happy to meet my weird and wonderful requests. In particular the more mature (sorry I forgot your name) barman at the liquid bar was alot of fun. It was our 32nd Wedding Anniversary while we were staying, and the hotel very kindly sent a bottle of bubbles and 2 glasses to our room. That was a very kind gesture. Sunbeds are plentiful, if you are not particular about your exact position, you have no issues finding sunbeds at any time of day. There's an area with no children which is a bit busier with infinity pool, but there's a children's area too with a plane and other things in the pool. Then an area where there are 2 pools for all in the centre,to the side of the hotel is a quieter area with one pool. We left the hotel a few times, on our anniversary we had a meal at one of the restaraunts further along the promenade. If you go along the promenade you reach the lighthouse. There's shops along there too and a supermarket. You can access this easily by scooter going through the gate at the back of the hotel. There's a ramp for scooters near the purple bar. We also went to a market in Peurto de Mogan. If you don't want to leave the hotel there is plenty to do all week. You can access the timetable via RIU app or by touch screens in reception. Thankyou RIU Gran Canaria and all your staff are amazing ❤️

Waste of money .. me, my wife and kid went on vacation for a week before a couple of months. Same food every day! After two days I got Enuf and didn’t feeling like going to the restaurant .. and the rooms you get 2 bottles of mineral water for 2 days and if went want to drink water we have to go to the restaurant. And the bed sheets were not changed, the room service comes and folds it again and cleans abit and goes. And the towels were not changed, they just fold it and keep it and go, even wet towels. It shows that they just don’t care .. keep in mind we stayed for a week .. after a couple of days my wife didn’t want even to stay there.. I don’t get it what’s the meaning of all inclusive in this hotel. One plus point the hotel staff was really friendly and always are ready to help you and the bars you can drink and drink and drink. The swimming pools were ok .. overall I’m not happy with my experience at Riu .. at the end it’s all hard earn money and for this service it’s not worth it .. me and my wife choose Riu hotels because I have been before to Riu Sri Lanka (Ahungalla) best experience ever !! Very friendly staff, clean and modern rooms! They change newly washed bedsheets and towels everyday ! Best bar and good Swimmingpools and direct access to beach ! The food was amazing ! Not the same food everyday . Overall best experience .. I’ve expected the same here but very disappointed ..

People here are the best. Very forthcoming and nice. Food is great, lots of diversity. A swimup suite really is worth the extra money. A private pool with chairs, no hassle to find room and not crowded. Will do it again.

If I could give no stars to this place I would, but the 1 star goes to some of the staff like Sarah who was kind & accommodating. Besides that it was not a positive stay and the food was sub-par. My fiancée had a burn accident with the soup they were serving and ended up with 2nd and 3rd degree burns. They don’t put caution signs or hot labels. No one ever checked on us or tried to help assist when he got burned. They said they only allow staff members to use first aide kits, didnt have a doctor come onsite, & just called us a taxi for the hospital. If he would have had some assistance & cold water immediately we wouldn’t have had a $600 doctor bill! It ruined the rest of our trip because we couldnt do anything in water or excursions. The rooms are basic & have funny smells. The A/C in the rooms dont work well & the shower water fills up over your feet while your showering & the drain takes about 12-15 mins to drain the water out. Oh & when asked to speak with a manager they kept saying he wasn’t available until the very last day right before we were traveling home! Thanks again for your terrible service and treatment. If you’re American, stay away from this place!
