The rooms are spacious and nice, the hotel is beautiful and the pools are great (also for kids). Could do with better pillows and/or choice of pillow. Location is good (not great). Walking distance from the beach, but in an area which lacks authenticity as it’s a corner of the island purposely built for a couple of large tourist resorts (like a Lopesan/RIU village). Service on the other hand is horrendous and not befitting any 5-star hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful when they can, but is bound by policies aimed at discounter-quality service. Despite advising not to drink the tap water, the hotel does not provide complementary fresh drinking water (a basic life necessity!). We were advised to get our water at a supermarket! Rooms are cleaned daily (no complaints there) but they did not restock the minibar for 3 days straight, which made us run out of water at all. Only after after asking twice (two days in a row) at reception (where you always need to queue and they don’t answer the phone) it was restocked. Breakfast (buffet) is fine/acceptable but quality of lunch and dinner buffet are not up to standards for a 5-star hotel. I just ate a cheeseburger for lunch which was one of the worst I’ve had in my life. The patty wasn’t even warm, never mind freshly grilled. It seemed like a poorly microwaved piece of supermarket burger. Dinner buffet is boring and expensive whilst a-la-carte is fully booked most days. Please sort out your priorities Baobab, and travelers be warned: the facilities look great, staff is friendly, but F&B is nowhere near up to standards of a 5-star hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights to try it out while visiting Gran Canaria. We booked 2 Unique pool rooms and paid around £1600 for both. This included half board for 4 adults. The resort is lovely: stunning landscaping, very clean and relaxing. We had no issues during our stay and all the staff we encountered were fantastic. Food was a real step up from most resorts we have experienced; there was plenty of choice and all good quality. I highly recommend the Unique upgrade here if you can get a deal. The pool rooms were massive with a balcony that includes a shaded seating area, sunbathing area with 2 loungers and a personal infinity pool. The Unique package also provides various other perks like a VIP lounge where drinks and snacks are complimentary between 11-6, VIP pool area with really comfy sunbeds/soft drinks and the choice to have breakfast away from the crowds in a quiet open air restaurant. Evening entertainment looked good although we didn't really watch any of it for long, there was a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. This resort is perfect for those wanting a slightly more adult experience than the typical "all inclusive" resorts provide. Highly recommended.

To start with the location of the hotel is good. The garden with very versatile flora is magnificent. On the negative side I have to point out several things which are not appropriate for a 5 star hotel. - the use of the room safe is not for free. - there is no daily water distribution in the rooms. - there is no possibility after checkout to shower and/or change clothes (apparently due to covid…). - the room keys are already blocked some time prior real checkout time. - the staff in the reception ( with one or two exceptions ) is unfriendly. You always have the feeling that they want to get rid of you as quickly as possible.

This has been an amazing holiday. I will be very sad to leave tomorrow. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. We have had 3 buffets a day and still haven't tried everything on offer. There is so much delicious food, something for everyone. This is a very family oriented hotel, lots of activities to keep the kids entertained. The staff who run the kids club are so good at keeping everyone busy and having fun. There are shops and restaurants nearby. A 5 minute walk to the beach front. The hotel is spotless, and the grounds beautifully maintained. We will definitely be back!

Revived multiple recommendations for this hotel and it didn’t disappoint. It certainly has the wow factor when you walk in. We had a very large family room with a spacious balcony which was welcomed, and it had everything you needed. The facilities are very good with its usp being the 7 pools it has. Loads of variety for the kids who really enjoyed them. Excellent entertainment for the kids as well, ranging from the kids club to foam parties. Staff were very polite and accommodating, nothing seemed to be too much hassle. There were only 2 things that prevented it from being perfect. The first is water………apart from breakfast there is no free water. Considering the heat and the fact it’s a family hotel, not having water stations is a glaring omission in my opinion. I think this should be looked at from a well-being point of view, it would at the very least increase the water intake of most kids as they usually drinking little and often rather than a whole bottle in one go. The other disappointment was the food. Personally I thought it was average with not much variation. I do appreciate that buffets are limited but simple things like the pizza was the same the whole week. I’m struggling to see how hard it would be to change simple things like this. Because of this I wouldn’t recommend going full board, I’m sure it’s cheaper but I would spend a little more by eating out at the local restaurants which are better value even with the higher prices. The kids will appreciate it as well. Overall though an excellent hotel that we would recommend……….but bed & breakfast or half board only.

One of the best hotels on the island. The hotel has a lovely design and is fun to explore. There are lots of pools and a slow river. Pools didn't seem over crowded. The service was good and the staff were all friendly. The hotel was clean and food and drink was good. Great location.

The food is incredible. You can tell the meat they cook in front of you is local and the part of the animal varies from meal to meal, veal, high back, entrecote, etc. As well the fruit you eat is grown locally indicated by their abnormal shapes and sour taste, not toxic gene modified fruits like in the west. Extremely good room service and perfect for families, new towels and clean up every single day. One of the best hotels I've been to, bravo 👏

The hotel is simply amazing. I loved the architecture and the way it has been decorated. It's absolutely wonderful 🥰 the food of the buffet is not great but overall is good. The bedroom was spacious and with a very nice balcony. Service is also very good. Would definitely repeat

Very nice complex with extremely well trained and good staff. In some topics, unfortunately, not yet arrived in the 2020s, for example a rather poor selection of vegetarian or vegan options in the really very large and extensive buffet. This could be better in a hotel with five stars (even spanish national category). Large and beautiful pool area, rather with very very cold water… So not for relaxing, but more for swimming or for the children playing. What irritated was that the pool was only open until 18:00 for noise reasons although the outdoor show till 23:00 was pretty loud.

From the moment we set foot in the Lopesan Baobab Resort, we were enveloped in an oasis of luxury and tranquility. The multiple swimming pool areas are beautifully designed, surrounded by an abundance of palm trees and interconnected with picturesque bridges. It truly felt like a tropical paradise. The overall service at this resort is nothing short of 5 stars. Each meal was a delightful culinary experience, boasting delicious flavors that tantalized our taste buds. What stood out even more was the dedicated and attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was impeccable. This resort is definitely a must-visit destination in Gran Canaria. We are already looking forward to our next visit and will undoubtedly be back again. Highly recommended

It’s a very nice resort with many pools and facilities. The food is good and the staff are friendly. It’s a kids friendly place with many activities for them. If you are not coming with your kids maybe it worth going to the other Lopesan hotels around. There are a lot of restaurants, bar and shopping centers around and a very nice walking area by the sea. The location is amazing and you can spend a nice night there

One word. Wow. This hotel is such an incredible masterpiece, full of things to explore and a unique, African design. When walking in, you are instantly greeted by a rainforest-like entrance, with waterfalls flowing on each side and the sound of tropical animals fill the room. Staff are friendly and make you feel welcomed during your visit. The rooms are so comfortable, however the lighting could be a bit more lighter in my preference. Food is magnificent, with menus rotating each day, leaving you completely (pleasantly) surprised at dinner time. Breakfast always stays the same, and free drinks are included at breakfast, however not at dinner. There are many choices of pools, from shallow to deep, from small to large in length. Unfortunately they can also be crowded, mostly by little children, so if you are looking for something like an adults-only hotel, this is definitely not it. The area around the hotel includes several shopping areas and restaurants (not like you need them at all). The beach is a mere 10 minute walk, but the water can be a bit murky and really crowded during the hot summer days. Overall, I enjoyed my time in Lopesan Baobab, it’s not your typical hotel, which makes it all the more memorable.

Absolutely stunning hotel. Sparkling clean. If you asked at the desk for absolutely anything, they will have it sent to your room before you even know it. Entertainment in the hotel was beautiful. And with the number of loungers at the pools, you don't even have to worry you will always find a few empty at any pool. Myself my husband and my son had unforgettable time. Hotel is breathtaking it's so beautiful beautiful you wouldn't find nicer hotel in grand canary island.

The best hotel for the family. The kids pool with slide was very good and my son loves it. It is also good that there is a big kids accessible pool, like a real beach. In the evening at 19:30, there was a mini disco. My son went there every day and really enjoyed dancing and saw Panchi and Patty. When he saw them, he reacted like he saw a superstar 😂 One thing I want to mention is, the steak meats weren't fresh at all. They were already black colored and tasted old. So, when you want to eat steak, better always ask to make it well-done. Overall, I would definitely come back on my next visit!! Super amazing.

We’ll never visit all Lopesan group Hotel and never recommend these to anyone! Reception was worst. We didn’t know what the hotel offer until the last day. No one explained anything during the check-in. When we asked for a transfer to the airport, they told that we had to pay today. However, when we would pay at reception after dinner, they said "It was too late" and "Do you think what time it is?" and scoffed at us. It was terrible experience for the last night in our holidays. At check-out, they demanded to be paid the money we had already paid. The hotel itself is huge and cool design, there are many pools and they are so beautiful. Also food was quite nice. But the staff service spoils everything. I've stayed in many hotels, but I've never stayed in such a bad hotel. We will never come back.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, Great service, Rooms and staff in lovely grounds.. Perfect for anyone who wants to visit the resort. It can improve, Cold nights in January, The outdoor areas could do with throws for customers enjoying the entertainment. Its too cold to sit there with nothing to keep you warm. Tea and coffee at dinner service would be great to as not everyone wants Alcohol or water with their dinner. Apart from that, this Hotel is a great 4 star hotel, not a five star unless some things like i have suggested are added. The staff are an asset to this hotel, very friendly. Victor in the food hall was brilliant 👏

Although the hotel has 5 stars, I could not rate our experience as being a 5 stars one. The breakfast, even if it is quite diverse, consists of food which is not of the highest quality. When we arrived at the hotel, there was only one person in the huge reception of the hotel and we were offered a room which had an unpleasant odour. We have been offered another room, but we could still smell a bit of that odour which was because of the lack of the proper ventilation of the back of the room. The room and the hotel itself, because of its theme, have few lighting. It was nice at first because it was something different and the architecture is truly amazing, but throughout our stay we felt the need of more light in our room. We noticed they offer a “unique member” membership and I guess this would offer you a proper 5 stars experience.

Upea, erinomainen aamiainen, upea buffet, kohteliaat ja ilonen henkilökunta, pitkä joki uima-allas oli ihana uida, 145 cm hyvä uinti syvyys. Huono äänieristys. Hyvä sänky. Itse asuin ns.

Upon entering you're immediately hit by the beauty of this place, the walls are surrounded by waterfalls, so the sounds and views are gorgeous, it even noticeably smells incredible. I can't fault this place, the staff were really good with us, rooms are decent and have robes and towels and little bits and pieces you might need in. They had things like Yoga classes, boutiques and many other amenities. Great food choices here, lots for vegetarians too, I wish I could have stayed longer because I fell in love with this hotel.

I regret to inform you that my recent stay at your hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. As someone who has stayed at many hotels over the years, I can confidently say that this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Firstly, the check-in process was a complete disaster. My party and I were not allowed to check in until 14:40, despite the designated check-in time being 14:00. We had to inquire at reception before we were even allowed to check in. This kind of delay is completely unacceptable, and it set a negative tone for the rest of our stay. The room we were given was in poor condition as well. The beds were creaky and uncomfortable, and the springs made noise every time we turned. We were even told that the hotel had run out of bags to put our towels in, which is a basic requirement for any hotel to have. These kinds of issues make it hard to feel comfortable and relaxed during a vacation. The food at the buffet was also very disappointing. There was almost no selection, and the quality of the food was poor. This is especially concerning given that the hotel is supposed to be a 5-star establishment. The experience was nothing like what was advertised on your website. Lastly, I was shocked to discover that the pool closes at 6pm, despite the sunset being at 9pm. This seems like a waste of resources and is frustrating for guests who want to enjoy the pool during their stay. Additionally, the staff start removing sunbeds at 4:30pm, which makes it difficult for guests to relax by the pool. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my stay at your hotel. I hope that you take these issues seriously and take steps to improve the experience for future guests. As someone who values quality hospitality, I urge you to address these issues as soon as possible.

Amazing resort to come with family or as a couple. We came with our baby and you can access everywhere with the stroller, and the staff and service is very friendly and kid appropriate. There are many activities during the day. There are pools for everyone taste: quiet, with kids, deeper, shallow, with sun, in the shadow... Food and drinks are great. The buffet has a lot of variety and there are new dishes everyday. Everything is clean and well taken care of. Everyone in the staff is super friendly and wants to make sure you have a pleasant stay. The design of the hotel is unique and it feels like you are in a exotic place while you are in the safety of Europe.

Incredible .... Stayed here at the end of June and just before the Summer holidays. Room was fantastic, breakfast perfect and the selection of pools were awesome. Cleanliness of the whole resort is perfection and I've never encountered such friendly and superb service from all the staff. Not to be missed and definitely worth the weeks stay. Will be back for future holidays and much needed breaks.

The hotel has lots of options for kids, including two small pools with depths of 30cm and 50cm and a kids club. The big pool which is connected to two other pools has a beach feeling so if you are a family with children, this hotel has enough to keep the kids entertained. However if you are a couple, you may find better hotels around. Additionally, the food gets boring after couple of days and they can do much better with the coffee. In summary, a decent hotel to spend a week with family.

We booked this hotel due to its good reviews here. However the standard does not live up go a 5 star hotel at other places. Yes, the pool area is really nice and the building itself, but the quality of the service was mediocre at best. So start at the reception. Long queue, and most companies got welcome drink but not us. Not a big deal, but these things should not happen at a 5 star hotel. Our room wasn’t cleaned the day after we arrived. We complained in the reception, and when a cleaner finally arrived (5pm) she only made up the beds! Overall the room was okay, but not nearly five star. Mold in the roof, bad mending’s etc. plus very dark room. Some of the staff was friendly but far from all, some seemed to want to do as little work as possible and bothered. The buffet was okay but not great. Some items were overcooked, like for example the tuna filets, which could have been great with a chef that knew what he was doing. Bacon in the morning was both cold and dry, etc. long list actually. On the other hand, some items were really good. In summary, for the price tag I expected more.

Amazing family resort with lots of activities for children of all ages. Plenty of sun beds to relax on across the property and various pools as well. Stayed in a double room which was spacious and had all the amenities you would expect. Just the lighting may be a little on the darker side to go with the theme and mood of the resort. Breakfast had a wide spread of continental as well as local delicacies. The vegetarian “hot” food could be kept separately to avoid cross contamination as utensils were used and mixed so we avoided the beans and grilled tomatoes etc. Staff across the resort from check in till out were flawless and very attentive to any requests we had. Always smiling and happy to help. Great place to stay and would go again!!

Fabulous resort! The best in Meloneras! I been to a couple and I always come back here. The attention is superb, the decor luxurious and lush, impressive since you get inside. Its also very private and you can choose from 5 different pools. It might be a huge complex but you always feel like you are spoiled by yourself. Its centrally located and has parking available (€12 a day and super practical). Make sure to explore the open mall and restaurants on the beach. Finally, it’s gay friendly so feel assured you will be treated well.

It might be one of the best hotel I have ever been in. We used to love those beautiful pools and gardens. Every single employee was extremely friendly and we enjoyed various tasty buffets. The hotel is really kids friendly but for people without kids it’s sometimes annoying to have all those screaming kids around. A few separated kids free areas would be great. 😁

  • 5/5 Nigel W. 1 year ago on Google
What a wonderful place. The hotel is set over a pretty broad area and feels super spacious. The overall theme throughout the hotel was great. We were full board, the food was great with huge selections across breakfast lunch and dinner. My only additional ask would be that coffee and water be available throughout the day, not just breakfast. (You can of course order anytime) Pools were great and the Lazy river was super lazy and nice to just mooch around. Staff throughout were amazing and always around to help. The hotel was always clean and being cleaned. We loved it. Gym was good, spacious with plenty of weights and machines. Massage/Spa - while not a luxurious spa in any way, was probably one of the best deep tissue massages I’ve had - thanks Monica! Check in and Check out super efficient. Plenty of places to sit, In terms of sun beds Kids had a blast. Plenty of things to do, but to be fair they were mostly in the pool. A short walk to the local Mall, and beach - with amazing sunrise and sand dunes. This place exceeded all my expectations and couldn’t recommend highly enough. Amazing break! Thank you.

It was so relaxing with the best welcome and help (when we needed to go to the hospital, finding the right restaurant, amazing places to go sightseeing, and many more) during our stay from Javier Morales Gonzalez. The moment we entered, all the pressure and stress was gone. The rooms where super clean, with a lot of space and a nice view. All the hotel employees where very kind and helpful. It would just be more convenient if the public toilet signs where shown differently/more frequently to find them faster when exploring the hotel.

My third time back. The rooms are fantastic and have everything you need, the beds are very large and super comfy too. Staff are brilliant and really can’t do enough for you. They are very accommodating and all seem to work very hard. They have numerous pools (5 in total I think) which are lovely. Surrounding the pool are sun beds and umbrellas. The food is just amazing and is very well thought out every day with lots to choose from - fussy eaters need not to worry!

The view and the ambience is what was expected and delivered more here in this resort. We booked a half pension for the stay. Only breakfast and dinner are included. For breakfast, it has a lot of variety of food and drinks but it is similar every day. For dinner, the food changes everyday and they have crepes for dessert. Drinks, however, is not included. The only thing that is disturbing is the wifi in the room. It is only easily accessible by the entrance area. For an 8 night stay, it is not ideal. There is evening show every night and it is different every day of the week. There are many pools and even a lazy river there for everyone(family friendly). From my observation, the pool in the middle is somehow where women who prefer to be topless are at. The workers are extremely friendly and welcoming. The resort smells nice and is very clean in all area. The umbrellas at the pools, they are not easy to open up. You might need to call the lifeguard to help you open up the umbrella for some shade.

Absolutely brilliant hotel with outstanding staff! We have a two year old and they are so accommodating and friendly to her, as well as us. We have travelled the world and this hotel is unique to any other. It provides beautiful grounds, great food options as well as lovely comfortable rooms. We have now been 5 times and plan to be back again this year. A special shout out to Eduardo Martin who is always so helpful , polite and informative. Highly recommend for couples and families.

Excellent service, the staff was always friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The edges of the pool area are a bit sharp and it's easy to cut yourself with them. The bathtubs are big and comfortable, though the shower is a bit small. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though not especially distinct as hotel rooms go. There were not a lot of activities organized during the weekend, and checking in can take some time if you arrive before 2pm. I heard from friends that the massage service was really good.

Free upgrade to a scenic view room and free drinks on entrance won it for me. Fantastic pool and bars. Nice vibe and sandalwood aromas from all the wood.

Very nice hotel. Great rooms, we had to the street, but it was still great. Breakfast is amazing. Pool area is great, lot of different areas for everyone to choose from, we loved the one shaped as a small river. Info could improve, hard to find your way through the hotel, and room info stripped to a very bad tv/web site. Dinner restaurants wasnt really as promised, just a buffe with a really noicy dining area, probably because the covid regulation, but theres plenty of great service outside the hotel. Nice with all the plants in the garden, we just walked around every day looking at nice plants.

I love the Lopesan Baobab hotel. It has an amazing Pool area, the restaurants are all really good. The buffet was one of the best ones I ever had. Breakfast was also really really good. The location is close to the beach and everything else is nice and accessible. The only downfall was the noise in the rooms from the courtyard. Somehow echo traveled super bad and every door , every person talking etc. Was like it happened right in our room.
