Had a bike for a day to climb up to the highest cycle-able point of the island. You can not reserve a bike for one day on the website. Just on the store. Employees on the desk were very friendly. Bike was in great condition and it had also a great front light. Unfortunately the shortest endurance time were 3 days (20€). So I had to pay this amount for just one day of cycling.

The recent tour of the Green North Advanced route was the second tour I have done with Free Motion's Playa del Ingles branch and was the best bike tour I have done by some distance. Trails were surprisingly challenging in places and there was lots of spectacular scenery throughout the tour. I rode with a great, positive group of people and our two guides Gee and Joe were simply excellent. In addition to being astutely professional, they were incredibly friendly, personable and fun to ride with. Gee took myself and four others on some more challenging trails, while Jay took the rest of the group a slightly different way. In addition to the day being so brilliant for me, I also believe the quality of a service can be assessed by the response when things go less well. When someone in the other group took a nasty fall, Joe's response was calm and measured, which allowed all parties to communicate and get what they needed before the tour was complete. This would have been incredibly stressful for Joe and his response was exemplary. Gee supported his colleague well and made sure that he got a long overdue meal and drink on our return to the shop. Good vibes all round. In short, I would recommend mountain biking tours with this company to anyone who likes mountain biking. In addition to being great, the tour and bike hire cost less than simply hiring a nice bike at a trail centre here in the UK. This represents incredible value and every aspect of the service from the bike setup, to the guiding and scenery were perfectly on the money. Needless to say, I will be back upon my next visit.

This week I participated in three road bike tours with the free motion crew with a rental bike. 🚴 I made my reservation in advance, my bike was already prepared for me, right pedals installed and the technician helped me with the saddle hight.👌 All three routes were very beautiful and as described online. Unfortunately on the royal stage to Pico I had an accident but I am very grateful the guides took care of me and made sure I am fine! Many thanks to Alex and Lars 🙏 On the last day I took it a bit more easy though in the Cappuccino group (no problem to do so). Depending on the route those switches are even possible during a tour. Also positive to mention that the guides took pictures for the group during the tour and sent them to everyone interested. The guides are very experienced and know the island very well. After every climb and descent we would regroup and they would describe the upcoming section. Some guys even took the courage to make extra loops in order to "catch" the slower once: Really impressive strength👍 One recommendation: I wish the website had some more detailed and better structed information. For those who join for the first time, some parts are a bit vague...

Went on the E-Bike tours with an older Belgian gent it was spectacular, one of the best off road bike tours ever. Our guide was superb with lots of local info as we travelled. I would say you need to be confident off road to do these tours but you wont regret it. The sandwiches given to us on both days were very disappointing indeed, it does not take much to provide decent food ,it is the only thing that would put us off going again ,several members of the group also remarked on the poor quality.

Rental bikes are always perfect, tours are exciting and staff is always willing to help when you have an issue with your own bike. We rented MTBs here two years in a row. Bikes are always one of the newest models and well maintained. Very good way to explore the valleys of Gran Canaria

Had some amazing road bike tours of the Mountains while on holiday with free motion. The guides Alex and Bart were excellent at their jobs giving you an experience that will stay with you forever. They kept a good pace and waited for you at the top of the climbs if dropped. Would highly recommend using them if you fancy riding while out there.

We did see Grand Canyon E-bike tour with Danny yesterday, and were very impressed by the professionalism of the company from start to finish. Arrived to find bikes of exact specification and in excellent condition, and then had a perfect guide, who was patient and gave clear and helpful instructions in terms of terrain and hazards. The tour itself was spectacular and highly recommended. Stunning scenery with a nice lunch stop up in Fataga. The tour with e-bikes was very manageable - still a good work out though. Would definitely recommend this company and do other guided tours with them.

Brought my bike over as on the island for 3 weeks. The guys from the services were super helpful and sorted my bike right away when I had some issues with my gears from the transport and also when my squeaky disc breaks needed some attention 2 weeks later. Very welcoming shop and team. This makes such a difference when know you have a good bike shop close by! And the coffee is also great :) thank you x

Ehdoton suositus jos maantie/maastopyörää hakusessa, paras paikka saarella. Best bike rental in this area, very professional help with bikes and the best bike tour guides you can find. Road and MTB, eMTB bikes are all well maintained, ready for the job. Bike tours are also very good, big recommendation for the Thursday/Friday MTB tours especially. Nice bike shuttle, food, route etc. Can't recommend more, tried other bike rentals in Gran canaria also, but this takes the 1st easily!

Did a couple of rides with our guide Bart and had a very nice time. Everything is well organized and there's a wide selection of bikes available. If you're planning to do some rides during your stay in Gran Canaria this place is the go to solution!

Very good bikes! We had a beautiful day with two mountainbikes going offroad in Gran Canarias outback (road to Ayagaures and then back through the mountaines (check komoot)). Not every shop has bikes, which can do the job. These ones did it very well!

I am a mature (72 year old) male. A keen but mainly leisurely, exploratory, day trip cyclist in the UK (average 30-50 quite hilly mile trips from home). I have recently gone electric (Specialized Creo Turbo). My partner & I booked a last minute escape holiday to a nice hotel in Melonares after a difficult year. I had no plan to cycle but whilst there I popped into the FreeMotion Melonares store on the spur of the moment and ended up booking a hire ebike (almost exactly the same as my own) and (after really helpful chats with the shop staff), a guided road ride tour to Soria for the next day. It was a truly fabulous day for me - the absolute highlight of my holiday - I would have travelled to Gran Canaria just for that day. I cannot speak highly enough of everything to do with Free Motion and their shop staff (in my case a lovely Italian Lady) and our tour guide (Ewa) and all the other staff I encountered. I had no kit with me so had to buy shoes and clothes. I was a little nervous having never ridden in a group with serious ‘road bike riders’, I was advised to book the easiest 72 km ‘cappuccino’ route but that included a 1200m climb. I was the only e-bike and 20 years older than the other 7 folk on the tour. I opted for a range extender - just in case - and they provided helmet, lock and bottle. The shop fitted my new shoe cleats and I was to collect my shoes and bike at 8.30am the next morning. I was given a map to show me how to get to the FreeMotion store about 5 km away in Playa de Ingles where the ride was due to start at 9.30. Everything was ready and waiting when I arrived at the store at 8.30, and the excellent bike was adjusted to my saddle height and I cycled off Playa de Ingles excited, but a little nervous. There were quite a fit young (and a few less fit and less young) looking cyclists congregating as there were a number of road and mountain bike tours starting there. It was very friendly. After 30 minutes our bikes were loaded onto a trailer, and we were off on a coach for about 20 minutes to the start of the ride. On arrival, Ewa briefed us, asked permission to photo us on the ride and made me feel very comfortable and safe. Thereafter the ride was great. We started at the coast with a gentle climb that really ramped up as we turned off onto the classic, steep, winding, hairpin laden road up into the mountains like those you see on the Grand Tours. I felt fitter than I expected, used only modest electric assist and kept up without a problem. Ewa, looked after us, teaching us the rules of the road, and shuttling between us, taking photos, as we all rode at our own pace. The landscape was amazing and the views increasingly dramatic. One guy had asthma and decided to take an easier route and meet us later which was handled without fuss. We regrouped at key points and it all felt very safe and the camaraderie grew between group members (all 30-50 year old Germans including one young woman, and they all spoke English so I would not feel excluded - lovely folk). We stopped at a very ‘authentic’ feeling cafe (Fernandos at Soria) for the local speciality of potatoes (!) and freshly squeezed mango and papaya juice and great expresso at 1 euro each - and refilled our water bottles. A fun descent - and then a classic peloton ride of about 30km taking it in turns to lead for one km at a pace that kept us all together - again - a first experience for me. I was concerned because we rode at about 35kph - over the 25kph where the e-assist cuts out, so I was on a heavier bike relying on my own power - but with the rests in the slipstream I felt very pleased to do my turns on the front - tho I knew I could skip my turn on the front if it felt too hard - so no stress. We finished with a beautiful run along the coast where I peeled off to my accommodation at Melonares and the rest carried on to Playa de Ingles - home by about 3pm. Ewa sent the great pics by email the next day. I great memento of a truly fabulous day. I am now planning holidays to repeat this experience as soon as possible.

Free Motion staff, systems and bikes were all totally professional. The booking process was smooth and very flexible and interaction with staff before we arrived was friendly and knowledgeable The bike was up to the minute technology and design and felt strong for the job, all elements of sizing and measurement were spot on. Technical Staff on site were knowledgeable keen an DD fast - admin staff also. So yes, would thoroughly recommend. Had to bail for 2 days due to food poisoning but again FM were accommodating

We wanted to rent two bikes without having reserved them in advance and they made it possible and found two great bikes in perfect condition for us for the week! The staff was super friendly and helpful and remembered us and our coffee preferences when we returned the bikes a few days later, which was absolutely lovely! The guided tours they offer on the website are described very well and each one comes with a map, so we used those as information for planning our own trips. We definitely recommend this place and will rent bikes from here again on our next trip!
