It’s impossible to show the beauty of this place with pictures, you need to see it with your own eyes. Sand, sand, sand and some desert plants. Occasionally a lizard and bird. Bring water and shoes.

Its like God, after creating all the deserts and all the beaches, had some sand left, and put it here. One of the best places to watch this and shoot some beautifull photos is Mirador. There you will also find an ice cream shop ( usefull believe me) and WC ( also usefull) :))

(Translated by Google) Great place. Be sure to visit Gran Canaria. The impression is really that you are in the desert! But be careful, the constant wind moves the sand, which sticks to clothes, and can get into the face and eyes.

Great view of the dunes, very popular at sunrise and sunset. Three paths start here, take the left towards the beach. Right takes you to shrubbery and other 'activities'. Naturists can walk naked down the paths and through the dunes and all the way down to the beach.

This place is incredible. It's almost like you're looking over a desert before you get to the ocean. From where I was standing it's a 45 minute walk to the lighthouse at 30 minute walk to the beach over sand. The pictures don't do it justice. Definitely I must see

We went to the dunes today in the afternoon and it was very beautiful and clean. I recommend to take enough water with you and maybe a hat and something over your shoulders because the way hasn't a lot of trees or bushes with shadow. So it's a interesting and nice place to visit but it's better to plan it! :) Oh and also it's very clean, no garbage laying around.

Great place for a walk and to access the dunes. You can park nearby and walk across the dunes to the many kiosks / beachfront little bars. Also a great place for dune photography. It is awesome. Drone users, it's windier than you think, use a landing mat/towel etc. There are a few hard ground areas between the dunes, use zippy bags, the sand gets everywhere! Walking up/down the dunes takes effort. Bring water! Sunglasses and a neck-scarf/bandana etc help keep the sand out when very windy / walking into airborne sand. It's probably one of the coolest and free places in Maspalomas! It's just awesome!

By far the best place to visit on the island. Get an ice cream and a bottle of water and enjoy the sun set on the dunes. Absolutely gorgeous.

A beautiful spot where you can view the dunes! Amazing sunset scenes! You need to walk through the archway of RIU and you will reach this beautiful scenic spot. There are plenty of places to sit and even a public toilet. There is also an ice cream shop nearby which i can recommend, it was delicious. Inorder to reach this spot, you can take a bus to the nearest spot and walk abit. Alternatively you could take a taxi too.

So beautiful and exotic. This place is very well worth a visit if you're visiting the area of gran Canaria and Maspalomas. It feels a bit like you're visiting the Sahara. A little warning though, if there are accompanying children... the beach here have visitors without clothing.

Just love it. Make sure you have sun protection. It takes about 2 hours to walk around and to be full of sand, in a good way. 😀

If you visit Maspalomas... you must come to see this beautiful spectacle. The Maspalomas dunes will amaze you with something unusual for this type of geography. Pay attention to objects such as mobile phones or other objects, because they can fall into the sand and get lost. Beautiful photos guaranteed.

Walked thru dunes to get to camel safari. Bit of a slog across the soft sand and quite hot so be prepared. You can get the bus if u want the easy option.

If not for the security of the open sea on the horizon, you'd feel like you were stuck in the middle of a desert. Great to visit and fun to toil your way across the large dunes (despite signs saying you can't, everyone does it)

Just wow! If you are visiting Gran Canaria, you have to visit the Dunes of Maspalomas. For me it was the first time being on real dunes and it was an incredible experience. I really love watching the sunset. Touching the sand with my bare feet. And feeling small in a desert like environment. It can be very windy and cold during afternoons or evenings. Do not forget to bring some blankets or clothes to shield from wind and sand in case you want to spend the afternoons here.

I'll just summarise it as ... interesting ... I'll be honest, I was not that overwhelmed by the nature reserve itself, but it is definitely an intriguing sight with some out of ordinary practices - adults only, definitely!

Spectacular and unexpected nature experience. It's like diving in in a 60s adventure movie. You expect camel caravans to cross your way just around the next dune and it's just a 5 minute walk from the beach boulevard. Make sure to take 0.5 l of water per person with you if you want to cross the dunes and closed shoes. Avoid the noon hours between 12:30 and 14:30. It's just too hot.

As if we were in the Sahara...strong sun, strong wind, hot sand under our feet...but apart from a few small inconveniences, it is an unforgettable experience that you must see.

You wouldn't think that this is Gran Canaria, seems like the Sahara. Beautiful views and lots of sand for miles. Worth a visit to explore.

Little version of the Sahara. And it’s worth visiting. It’s absolutely a must see when in Gran Canaria. It’s also a best place tp watch the sunset- depending on the months.

Mesmerizing landscape, very difficult to reflect via photos and videos, you just have to see/feel it! Vast golden sands against the backdrop of the Atlantic! Serene place!

(Translated by Google) The only desert in Europe deserves to be seen at least once. The visit to the Mas Palomas Dunes is a spectacular and exciting experience, in truth it is an understatement to speak of dunes as it is a desert area of 2-3 square km with 3 kilometers of beach and an oasis. Unfortunately, you enter the Mirador passing through a luxurious hotel, then you can walk the length and breadth of the entire area. A must for anyone traveling to Gran Canaria.

(Translated by Google) This oasis of calm is located in the middle of the dreamy dunes at the southernmost point of Gran Canaria. You can find quiet, quiet spots everywhere. A piece of nature where everything meets with or without swimwear, everything is allowed and tolerated. A must for every Gran Canaria visitor to stroll through the dune landscape and inhale the hustle and bustle. (Original) Diese Ruheoase liegt inmitten der traumhaften Dünen am südlichsten Punkt von Gran Canaria. Stille ruhige Plätzchen findet man überall.

A small part of Arrakis. I was looking for shai-hulud and practicing the freemen sand walk.

Wonderful walk in the sand. I’d recommend to come here after 4 pm or early in the morning. You can walk up to the ocean or hang around numerous sand dunes. Very Instagram friendly place btw. Also do take sun glasses/scarf/hat to protect you from the sun and from the sand if wind comes.

Beautiful dunes with different activities to do. They're fairly pricey but it's a nice experience overall. It's also worth just going for a walk along the dunes as well. Protective gear recommended (mask, protective sunglasses).

Beautyfull... Every body have to see it

  • 4/5 Olav D. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful dunes just a small walk from the southern end of Maspalomas. The tracks are well-marked and the dunes look natural and untouched aside from the marked paths and other treks from the paths to the beaches. There's a bit of trash here and there, both in the sand and tucked into the fence poles. The beach kiosks also aren't open (still Covid-closed for some reason?), which makes bathroom visits and the retrieval of additional refreshments difficult - bring plenty of water in other words! Beach beds and umbrellas are still available.

Beautiful place, but some people just do not know how to behave. Lot of garbage on the dune trail, peeing near people sunbathing, come on... A place worth visiting, beside what I just wrote. You will find your perfect spot for thinking, meditation, sunbathing, eating and drinking. It's a place that will welcome anyone.

Great viewpoint and place to access the sand dunes, Free parking on the road, walk down the access path through the hotel Riu Palace there is also a Helamores cafe where it's possible to buy a much needed refreshment after climbing the dunes.

Amazing sightseeing with perfect climate. If you are not fit maybe think in taking the easy walk from the left side of the beach. A must see in the island!
