Easily the worst gym I've ever been to. I can never get a proper workout in as I planned because one or more equipment will be taken. Despite this gym being quite small, they do all kinds of promotions to attract as many members as possible. The result is that this gym becomes a jungle with multiple people waiting for the same equipment/people stealing your equipment while you're using it and go get some water. Pay a bit more and go to a real gym.

TLDR: Do not fall for their new membership promos. This gym is worth LESS than it’s price and should be avoided if you’re interested in non-cardio exercise equipment. If you enjoy workouts before 9am or only use cardio equipment, then go for it. On paper, this gym is hands down the best value option and conveniently located for those living in the San Bruno area. Lots of cardio equipment, although squat racks and benches are limited to 2 each, and is generally clean. From time to time, things break down like exercise machines or the toilets, but they are usually fixed within a week. Overcrowding and handling of membership are what makes this gym impossible to recommend. They are constantly running new membership promotions, be it waiving annual fees or offering reduced monthly dues. I have varied my visits to this gym at all times of the day (i.e. 6am, 9am, 11am, noon, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm, 9pm) and it is ALWAYS crowded, with the one exception being early morning (before 9am). Those limited benches and squat racks I mentioned before? Forget it. The chances of you using one without waiting a minimum of 10-15 minutes or up to half an hour is basically zero. With all the promotions they’re running (I’ve rarely visited without finding ad board up front) means this problem will only get WORSE. If you’re new to the area and looking for a gym, buy some dumbbells and a chair to workout at home (because that’s about all you’ll get to use here) or pay up for a nicer gym. On cancelling membership: just know that you’re locked in for the duration of your 12-month contract, unless you become medically unable to workout or move 25+ miles away. A buy out option is available, but this gym outsources their membership billing to another company, ABC Fitness (see: skirting responsibility and poor customer service). Always read the fine print!

I visited this store at 7 pm on Tuesday and I barely could walk into the gym because it was too crowded. I can’t believe my eyes. Almost every equipment was in use. After couple days of researching, I realized all of the gyms in Bay Area are the same, small, high capacity, difficult parking, doesn’t matter how much you pay for the membership, all the same. On the other hand. The membership fee of 19 is reasonable and cheap. If you want to work out, you need to figure out what time is less busy. If you from other parts of the US be ready for the surprise.

I like this gym a lots because of a Zumba instructor, Suzetty. She brought much energy to each Zumba class and let me learn how to enjoy my aerobic exercises. She treated all students like friends. When any of us has any questions about dancing properly without hurting ourselves, toning our body or losing weights, she is always willing to share her experiences and knowledge. She is the best instructor!!

Great small to mid-sized gym with a solid assortment of equipment including 2 squat racks, 1 smith machine, 2 cable machines, free weights, resistance machines, cardio machines (including 4 stairmasters, all in excellent working condition), and an aerobics room for group classes. There are no frills like scented towels and it is not open 24 hours, however, the facility is well managed and maintained (Jessica is great!) Good vibes from the staff and gym members. Broken equipment is repaired the same week, and the facility is clean. Most people sanitize the equipment before and after their sessions, some people still wear masks. It can get quite busy during peak hours, but most members practice good gym etiquette. Waiting for the squat racks, smith machine, or cable machines to free up has not been an issue to get a proper workout. Definitely the best value in the area if you are there to lift and get fit!

This review is for Zumba Instructor - Suzetty Fitness 19 San Bruno is a nice facility to work out at with newer equipment and friendly staff. I was always hearing about a really good Zumba instructor at the F19-San Bruno location. Already being a member at City Sports SF and F19 Daly City, I felt I already had a full workout schedule and San Bruno is a good 15 minute drive across 3 towns from my home. My friend kept encouraging me to check out the class so I gave in. I came to check out Suzetty’s class and had an amazing experience. She is a great instructor and is full of high energy which is motivating and contagious. I never feel like it’s an obligation to work out because I have such a blast coming to her class. I walk out of every one of her classes feeling great and accomplished. Because of her, I have added a third gym to my weekly routine. I am saddened and disappointed to hear that Suzetty is no longer teaching at this location due to a misunderstanding and unfair complaint from another member. We hope that the management will do their full investigation, remove the negative complaint and try to resolve this issue to bring Suzetty back. She is a huge asset to the SB location and it would be a big loss for all the members.

Fitness 19 is a very cheap gym, probably the cheapest you could find in the Bay Area that's not a Planet Fitness. And their quality is reflected by that price point. The gym is just too small. Everything is crammed together. There are only 2 squat racks in this entire facility, and oftentimes people will be doing deadlifts or rows in front of the squat rack because there isn't enough space to have a separate deadlift area. There's only one lat pulldown machine, but it's such an important machine. Why is there only one? And why are there always three people using it? They could easily fit another squat rack and even a whole area for deadlifts if they got rid of like half the treadmills and cardio machines nobody ever uses. I'm not kidding, half of this gym is filled with treadmills and ellipticals and bikes that not a lot of people ever really use. People are always wasting time in between sets on equipment by going on their phones for 10 minutes. And yes, I get it. It's a gym. But I don't have all day. I'm not about to wait 45 minutes for the lat pulldown. Also, I don't get the vibe that the staff is here is really that knowledgable about fitness. For example, I received a tour of the gym before I signed up, and one employee showed me a section that had kettlebells. And they called them dumbbells. And I couldn't stop laughing. If you're trying to join a gym and you're only interested in cardio, then this is the gym for you. But if you're trying to actually put on muscle and/or lose fat, then save your time and spend extra on a real gym.

During the Pandemic I decided to give this gym a shot since it was close to my home. It provided me with what I needed for the most part but was always overcrowded with their restrooms shut down for a week every month or so. I got tired of the hassle of shutdown restrooms and overcrowdedness in a small gym so I canceled in June. I went up to the employee at the front desk who said he could cancel my membership with their manager, a curly hair blonde lady right next to him. I thought this would be the end of my bad experience only to find out they still have been charging me for my membership 2 months after with nothing I can do for a refund. Steer clear of this gym and pay a little more for a better gym rather than deal with the hassle and headache fitness 19.

This gym is definitely the best value in the area. However, it is very dusty. Some of the equipment is covered in a thick layer of dust. The one time I saw an employee dusting the machines they were using a feather duster, not a wet rag, or something to actually capture the dust. Ive manage gyms for years and I can tell the leg press hasn’t been wiped down in months. Other than the dust, the facility is in good shape, there are a good amount of squat racks, Olympic plates, and extra barbells. It can get crowded, even at 4am, but it’s not too bad. For $20/mo~ you can’t beat the value.

I love the fact that this place opens at 4am! For all you people complaining about how crowded it gets during prime hours, i have a solution for you.. Get up earlier! Yes, there will be other people working out which means you are not going to get everything you want all the time so if you cannot get a lat pull-down machine for example, pull-ups are a far superior variation than any lat pull-down machine and If you cannot perform pull-ups, all the more reason to start doing them! As for cardio machines, half the gym is dedicated to cardio which is awesome! You cannot talk about health and fitness without cardiovascular health. it's what keeps your heart pumping! People should start taking into consideration that not everybody is interested in building muscle and some just want to have good cardiovascular health. Gyms are designed to cater to everyone and not just people who solely focus on muscle building and as far as monthly rates go, you really cannot complain. That's like saying you want the steak and lobster dinner at kids menu prices. As for people "stealing" your equipment while you're trying to get some water, you just politely say "Excuse me, i was using this. i just went to go get some water." and i get it, you wan't to avoid confrontation, but if you are not willing to speak up for yourself, chances are that it's going to happen again.

I m a member of SB19 and the facility is clean and nice. I love to go to the gym. The manager Jessica and her staffs are nice too. Another reason I love the gym because my favor zumba instructor Suzetty Jaime Herrera was teached there. We all love her because she cares/be fair for all her students. She brings an energy and motvation to each and every one in her class. I definitely recommend her class to everyone.

I canceled my account 2 years ago. I just found out that they been charging my visa card this whole time. I called them and explained to them that I haven't been there for 2 years and canceled it already. They refused to give me a refund and said that It takes 30 days and will be billed for one more month . If I don't pay it then they will leave it active and will get interest and go to collections. Don't trust this gym or any of its locations. The corporate office admitted thet they see that I haven't used it in 2 years. What a greedy and shady company.

I am a premium member at the gym. I like the gym more than others because of Suzetty Jaime Herrera. Her class is very popular because she always does her best for the students. She has a lot of energy, and the choreography is superior. She is very welcoming and fun to dance with. I do not hesitate and will give her five stars. The reason why I minus a star from the 5 is because how the gym management handle a complaint. It will be a big lost to the gym and all the members if it is not handled in a professional and fair manner.

When I signed up for the membership one of the employees named Jessica told me the gym it’s quite empty and there was not many people. She lied to me just to make me sign for the yearly membership. The gym is full all day long! And they keep accepting new people and making ads to bring more people. I don’t even go there anymore. If you’re not familiar with the gym environment and noisy people deadlifting and recording every movement to their social media this gym may not be the right one for you.

SOOOOOO overcrowded! Completely overrun with meat head types slamming weights, "bro"ing all over everything and hogging EVERY weight and machine in the whole place..... AND I saw one sitting on the step machine just blocking anyone from using it.... JUST SITTING THERE! And the staff completely ignored it......Smh.... I have been to all kinds of gyms all over the country (including some of the busiest Golds gyms on the west coast back in the day) and I have never seen this ridiculousness and overcrowding. I was there on a trial because I live near the San Bruno club..... it's literally within walking distance and even with the close proximity it is STILL not worth $14.99 the only way you could even get any kind of workout there is if you're part of the bro club they clearly have. Good luck with that!

They currently have a too good to be true promotion but then you find out there’s an annual membership and a cancellation fee and that billing is handled by a 3rd party financial corporation after you give them your bank card. I can only imagine the headaches when I google gym membership scams. So many red flags. I noped out. Get a bike. Walking is free. No thank you.

I enjoy the zumba classes and the clean facility. I wished there was a greater variety of classes. I've attended bollyx and ujam classes elsewhere and really enjoyed it. I hope more classes will be added soon. And a clock in the dance studio would be helpful.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME! I’ve signed up for this gym during a promotion and it was a really bad decision. Although they charge you just 8.99 a month it’s not worth it. The gym is ALWAYS packed no matter what time you go. Good luck trying to cancel after one year because they won’t help you with this very complicated cancelling process thru a third party website. This gym is so bad that they even hired a third party just to deal with their cancellations. The employee LIED to me saying the gym it was empty most of the time just to make me sign up. Be smart and just don’t waste your time going to this filthy place. Read all the reviews and don’t waste your time and go somewhere else.

The gym is clean if a bit small but overall quite nice. Overall the staff was helpful and equipment was maintained well. Cancellation is done online, but beware it does require a $50 cancellation fee that I did not see when joining. No showers unfortunately.

I go 4 days a week: 2 nights of Zumba classes and 2 days of cardio machines preferably on the weekend with my son. My favorite Zumba instructor is Francisco 🙂I wish he had more classes offered at night (6-7pm). Fantastic workout, great music, and a good place to release tension and unwind after a long day of work. 🎶

Pleasantly surprised Andrei Cobbs will be subbing tmrw Saturday Jul 15, 2023... Andrei is the BEST ZUMBA INSTRUCTOR, ever ! We need more ZUMBA CLASSES w/Andrei .. your membership will absolutely increase if we shall have a regular Andrei class during prime time evening hours.

I recently returned to working out after the COVID Pandemic. While I haven't attended regularly, the times that I've gone have been good. My one concern is that it seems to get very busy between 3 - 7pm (understandably) but groups of people seem to travel working out and monopolize the machines which makes it difficult for others to utilize. Aside from that, I'm glad I'm back.

I was only in town for 4 days. This gym was close to my hotel. The Front desk staff Vivian made signing up through active and fit quick and easy. The facility itself is clean, and space is efficiently used for the club size! The manager, Jessica was incredibly professional the entire time and with a smile on her face! I will visit this place again when I return to San Fran. If you’re looking for a gym, I recommend!

Nice and clean place to workout with good range of workout machines. I have taken a couple of personal training classes and was extremely satisfied with it. The trainers are very friendly and they can certainly push you to your best (if you want to be pushed). Nothing to complain so far.
