It's nice they built fences around the tree. It is for the protection and care of one of the oldest trees in the Philippines. It is also my second time seeing this tree, that was in 1993. 2023, 30 years has a lot of changes, fences, and the owner seems to make the place attractive not just looking at the tree. They have a small eatery in the area, small sheds for people to rest, nice garden, although it isn't finished it could be beautiful scenery when it's completed. But, navigating to this place needs a skilled driver. Roads are too small, paved, and unpaved. A single-lane road where one automobile has to stay on the side just to pass the other one. The problem is if both cars are on the road with nothing to provide for the car to stay on the side--- backup is the solution. The experience is well-documented. I wouldn't be able to see this tree again. If you have the chance, visit this place. The tree by the way is over 1300 years old.

One of the best place to visit also in Canlaon City. You'll witness two views - The Century old balete tree and the Canlaon Volcano. The place is so nice especially if you want to unwind.

If you love nature and quite place far from the sound of city noises this is the right place you’ve been looking. It’s a long and rough drive but it’s worth it. A breathtaking atmosphere and a huge tree that will amazed and filled us with curiosity how old this tree that become super huge than normal. The downside that it’s not yet develop I did not see any toilet or a place to stay overnight and rough road all the way from a nearby town.

Very nice place to relax with the nature... it is free to visit. This is an awesome and majestic tree. Every time I visit here I always challenge myself to capture the details in a single shot... and I always fail to do so... and I ended up taking as much pictures I possibly can. :) :) :)

I was an awe seeing this... Its gigantic and very beautiful,... How mother nature can do its wonder... This century old balete tree tells a story that we must try to protect what mother nature had given us.. so that the next generation can still experience this kind of beauty.. kudos!

its just a protected Baliti Tree (lunok). Cant touch it anymore after they built a coral around it. The experience is different when exploring the tree trunk with physical senses compare to juat viewing it. however others used to climb it and in the process break the branches.

Nice place. Well taken care of. The tree is amazing, but the view around with flowers and Canlaon Mountain is also great.

The tree itself is magical. We went there around 10am and the sun was very cooperative during the trip. You might as well consider the rough and bumpy road so you could bring a pickup truck or motorcycle. The crew were accommodating to take our photos. There was no entrance fee but you may give donations and tips.

Incrediblly awesome tree to see in person. Also the Cafe and restaurant had very good food. Restrooms were also very clean. The drive up there is pretty windy and the last part of the trip before the tree is dirt with lots of rocks and mud if it's raining so try to drive a larger car or SUV.

One of the living trees in the world that is still existing for more than 1000 years and can be found here in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental. Accommodating staff and there is a perimeter wall that no one can come close to the tree to preserve it and maintain the cleanliness in the area. There is a small resto just beside the tree which serves great food. So you can enjoy the place while relaxing on the scenery . A must go to place in Negros.

No entrance fee. Nice place featuring centuries-old balete tree with beautiful tree lanes that had Nami Island feels. They sell Japanese rice which they plant on the surrounding fields. There is a cafe you can stay on for refreshments.

A very relaxing place. Nature at its finest. Its a 2hour and a half for me to reach in this place from DSB but you can choose to pass through here in a convenient way in La Castellana. A very good place to be.

The tree is larger than you would expect. The people managing the area is warm and friendly. There are house plants sold and you can't help but bring some with you.

It's a bit far from the main roads without private transportation but the attraction is well worth it. There are stores in the vicinity plus a café with vegetarian options. Great for farmilies and the place is kid-friendly.

The city makes sure cleanliness is maintained. There's something divine about standing close to something thats been on this world for thousand of years. Too bad that some visitors vandalized the tree so the city built a fence around the tree itself. On my previous visits, one can still stand close and touch it.

They're able to fence the whole tree up 😥. I'm not sure if I'm able to climb up like before since there's no sign that its a NO but we didn't do that, just to be safe. There's a restaurant too!! Nice food, a branch of the one near the city square. There's many mini store (corner store, "sari-sari" store), so you can either buy snacks or eat breakfast (lunch or dinner)!! I was told the tree is also called a century tree! The name is its age!! Its amazing!!!

The place is spectacular especially the century tree, it was so big and it has a part where you can eat and chill, the staff are good and very accommodating.

What an extreme views and experiences on going to Century Tree, even the tree itself ❣ Can wait to explore more tourist destinations and views at Canlaon City!

The ride from proper Canlaon to the century tree was a great experience. With beautiful sceneries of trees, vegetable plants on the roadside and rice paddies. When we got there the people were so friendly and accomodating and when we actually got to the tree it was breathtaking. Shout out to the long haired Tito who offered to take our pictures with crazy good results (See the pano shot below). All in all it was an awesome trip to see a 4 century old tree still standing strong and Weathered the times.
