Happy Hour review: Five stars! The happy hour menu is excellent. We had the cheese plate and tater tots which was a great snack. The cheese plate is carefully crafted and comes with some creative accompaniments. The cheese monger here is clearly passionate and knowledgeable! I also want to shout out their lavender caramel latte. This drink was incredible, with the lavender infused into the caramel and swirled on the outside of the glass. An extremely memorable latte!

After having dinner at Vine. We walked or stumbled into this cute little " Cellar" of a restaurant... they had live music a cute girl singing not too loud which was very nice... we decided that we would sit at the bar because it was so dark in this restaurant you couldn't even see the tables.... " normally I like a nice dark wine bar because I think it makes me look amazing ...however! "

The food was amazing, the staff were very professional and friendly. The ambiance was very nice and quiet with a nice background music. The caramel date cake with ice cream was one of the best desserts.

Oh man. It doesn’t really get much worse of an experience than this. And I was a server and a bartender for years so my leniency towards service workers is usually VERY generous. We get there, the table only has two seats, so a server brings us two more, great! Seems nice. We sit down, 10 minutes go by, I go inside and ask if we order inside, he goes “oh you guys are sitting down? I’ll be right there” like dude you literally brought us the chairs for us to sit down but okay. Another 10 minutes go by, dude brings us waters. I kid you not EVERY glass has huge freaking lipstick stains on them. EVERY ONE! Impressive. Another 15 minutes go by, the waiter finally returns to take our order, but only because I go “wait! I think we’re all ready to go.” Another 15 minutes go by, I get the single glass of wine I ordered. We’ve now been here for almost an hour, and I’m just getting the one drink I’ve ordered. Another 25 minutes and we finally get our food! Yay! We’re missing the starter we ordered but I guess it’s more of an ender now. Food is SO cold. Especially the eggs. Like, did they get this off of some other table? How did they achieve absolute zero? 5 more minutes and our starter comes. It was just fries by the way. An hour to get some fries. Around this time the table next to us of 8 is frantically flagging down the server for the check, he looks directly at them, sits down next to this girl and takes her order, and turns around and goes inside. The whole table looks at me with exasperation, and I’m like “dude, same.” Servers the whole time were super nonchalant and awkward by the way. Would’ve absolutely believed they were some random guys subbing in for the real servers. I DID see one server come and serve some ladies next to us who seemed like she actually knew what she was talking about, and I pointed her out to my friends like OH LOOK! They DO have real servers here! Needless to say, they should have paid US to eat here, and honestly I’m not sure if the $120 that we paid would be worth it for me to be so miserable for an hour and a half. I would have paid money just to go anywhere else. Few times in my life have I so badly wanted a refund. Highly highly highly recommend NOT coming to this location EVER. PLEASE dear God spend your money on a place that deserves your money and respects your patronage.

Great for watching live locals play music! Good food and cocktails. The cheese boards are well thought out and delicious!!!

Nice trendy wine bar in San Clemente. Great appetizers and usually some music. Good crowd as well. Janes is next door and part of the same owners. Mixed cocktails "speak-easy" style. Both great locations

Great place to go when in San Clemente. Not sure if it was because it was Friday, but Happy Hour (400-600pm) attracted loads of people. Shawn and his team were so super efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Cheese platter excellent choice.

Good wine + good food + great service = solid 5 stars! Met up with my friend on a Friday afternoon (since it's halfway between Irvine and Carlsbad) and enjoyed their outdoor seating with cute twinkle lights and their happy hour until 6pm.

My wife and I live next to the pier. We are working on going to new restaurants in SC as we keep going to our favorite spots. But that the great thing about going somewhere new; it turns into a new favorite like the Cellar. Service was great, food was incredible and we had a fantastic $60 bottle. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm which allows for great conversation. I love my wife so much!

Service was a little slow but we weren’t in a hurry. We got hummus plate and flatbread. All was good. Yummy mocktail too.

Every weekend we come to this great place for breakfast, but today I didn't like the food at all, we ordered 3 breakfasts, but everything tasted weird and didn't taste the same as always, I hope they can improve because it was my favorite place 😩🙏

Try their wines and food. You will never forget the atmosphere, live music and excellent service.

As always such a great experience. I just love the atmosphere here. And the deck outside is a great addition. Love the sunshine and wine 🍷 and great food. Their cheese plate are some of the best. And the wines are a wonderful collection and you're sure to find one you like! Highly recommend

More of a 3.5 stars, but rounded it up to be nice. The good parts: both the food taste and the service were good. The food presentation was also nicely done. The not so good part: I understand that the town is expensive, but still. For the cheese and meat boards was expecting better sides like honey, jam and similar that should have come with it. Also for the mushrooms flatbread, the taste was good but mushrooms were absent 😒

My friend and I went for breakfast during the week. It was quiet with a romantic atmosphere. It was open seating and the waitress was very nice. They have some vegan options. Their granola with almond milk and the chia seed pudding are both vegan. The have some delicious drinks as well. We got the hibiscus mimosa and the Bellini. Both were awesome. I'll definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the area.

Excellent place for good food and drinks. We loved the food! Fresh, high quality ingredients, tasty. The only problem was that they gave us an old menu that didn't have all the dishes they offer and the waiter didn't offer us either. The service was a bit slow but the ambiance helped with the wait. Not a cheap place but reasonable for the good food and place.

Amazing bar / restaurant with fantatsic ambiance. There is limited seating outside but highly recommended if you can get it. Like being in a sidewalk cafe in Europe. The food is delicious and keeps us coming back everytime we are in SoCal. Staff is friendly and chatty. Great wine and beer selection as well. The best in San Clemente!

We set upon a Friday afternoon of exploring san clemente and wine tasting and stumbled upon this little wine bar. It's sorta dark and has a rustic, speakeasy vibe. We sampled some yummy white wines and took advantage of their happy hour menu. Had a little bit of work to do so used their wi-fi. Cool atmosphere, good wine, good vibes. The only drawback was that it smelled a little weird when we arrived, but that faded after a little wine :)

Excellent food. Frittata and Avocado was amazing…great wine selection too. We also thought our server Rose was wonderful! Friendly and fast!

AMAZING cheese boards, AMAZING Olive dish. The selections for their cheese board are better than most other places, you can tell they put a little more effort into selecting different cheeses as well as the sides on the board than most places. We live in San Marcos and will drive 35 miles to hang out at The Cellar for their cheese boards and olive dish.
