WOW, what a hidden gem this place is!!! I wanted the perfect breakfast and I GOT IT HERE!!! The eggs were over easy perfectly, the potatoes had a great char on them mixed with grilled onions. The sausage was delicious - great flavor, sourdough toast, and some pico de gallo on top and endless cups of fresh hot coffee - this place is amazing you gottta come here. 1421 N El Camino Real, San Clemente, CA 92672

I was in the area and stop by as a first timer!! Great cozy environment with friendly service. I had one of their daily specials which was a chili Verde omelette!! I came around 1:30 in the afternoon and it was not crowded at all!

So glad we popped in here for breakfast! Good move to go a bit earlier than usual to beat the crowd. We showed up around 9am and it wasn’t too busy but the place was full by 10am. We got the brisket omelette and they’re stuffed French toast special. They were both delicious! The omelette came with a really good portion of brisket, breakfast potatoes, and toast. You can pick from different breads for you toast, so I went with challah. It’s a quirky joint, definitely worth going back to.

Excellent atmosphere, great food with large portions, friendly service, unique wall deco, and 60's style special clothing and merchandise for purchase. Seating is limited. This is definitely a local favorite spot. Stay local, support out own! Service dogs welcome. Enjoy!

First time here. Traveling thru. Love trying out unique places to eat when we travel. Cute, colorful, cozy atmosphere. Food was on point with great flavors and big selection to pick from menu. Coffee was also good, with wonderful service! Highly recommend!! ❤️

Wonderful little cafe.. just darling with hand painted batik t-shirts hanging from the walls. Open for breakfast & lunch only. Superb brisket melt sandwich on challah, yummy lentil soup plus lots of other goodies on the menu for next time.. servers Nina & Jenny were both friendly & efficient & the chef deserves praise for a little cafe.

I have been a couple times for breakfast. The food is cooked by the owner. It's always fantastic. The decor is very festive and fun. The owners wife is a server and makes the shirts etc that are for sale. She is very fun and great to have serving us. Can't think of a better place to go. A few tables so it fills up fast. Better to get there early. Don't get there before me though. I don't like to wait. Lol. 6 stars for sure 😃

Local mom and pop cafe with the best breakfast in town. The stuffed crusted French toast is amazing. Red flavorful breakfast taters served with an omelette is second my go to. Unfortunately they don’t have a liquor license so no mimosas.

Just walking into the place you get great vibes. The host/ waiter had a cool vibe about himself. It was a weekday and it was about half full. So if its a weekend you'll need to get in early or just wait for a table. There is no real outside dining. Parking was ok. Now for the food. They have enough to satisfy vegans, the meat lovers and everyone in between. They have chicken apple sausage, turkey bacon And sausage. The orange juice taste freshly squeezed. I ordered the Rae special for the day and it was amazing. All in all, if you can get a table come here.

The Crusted French Toast, Pancakes, and Orange Juice were all fantastic. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Cafe Rae is generous with its portions, friendly with its service, and the owner is often there to make sure everyone is taken care of. This place is full of character, and the kind of local spot that you come to cherish. A true hidden gem.

As a hospitality and tourism instructor the customer service was an embarrassment to say the least... Kaya appeared to be anything but welcoming. She told us to pick a table with 'two chairs only'. We selected one away from an open window since the weather was slightly cool for us being travelers. We asked if she could turn the ceiling fan directly above us off. She replied with a hard sigh, "I can turn it down, but I can't turn it off." She walked behind the counter and stated out loud to her coworker, "I get so annoyed when people ask me to turn off the fan". We just walked out to not annoy her further.

I had a tasty breakfast bowl with egg, chorizo, avocado, beans, & potatoes.... so delicious! My boyfriend had an omelet with Cuban chicken... that was fantastic!

Terry and Don catered my son's wedding reception yesterday. It was absolutely spectacular. The food and service was the best I've seen. Every guest complemented on how delicious the food was. They worked so hard all day on this event and it turned out perfect because of them. There service was A+ . They made the wedding a success. From the bottom of my heart I want you thank you for everything you did. Terry your 2 young assistants were awesome. Don you will always be one of my favorite people I've even known. Thank you all so so much. Anyone wanting excellent food go let Terry cook for you at Cafe Rae.

Cute and cozy family owned type breakfast cafe. Coffee was just okay, but the food was so delicious! Healthy size portions and fresh orange juice.

I went here a few months ago and I guess I started the review and forgot to finish it. Went here for brunch and ordered for takeout. This place definitely gets busy on the weekend and be prepared to wait. There was a party there that was willing to wait like 30-45 minutes. Figured this place must be really good if people are willing to wait or come earlier because they already know there's a wait. I was a little disappointed because their google menu was a little out of date. They didn't have the pulled pork omelet or the banana- caramel fluff cream cheese stuffed and crusted french toast. The ladies who took my order was super nice and accommodating. Regardless, how busy they were they still took the time to help and explain their menu to me. 1. Brisket -salsa- sour cream omelet - super juicy and a good portion. The potatoes compliment the omelet perfectly. 2. Sausage and bacon breakfast burrito- delicious and still tasted good when we ate it like an hour or so later because we were so stuffed from the other 2 items. 3. French toast they were able to customize for me because I was deeply looking forward to the banana caramel fluff French toast.. They made me a stuffed and crusted french toast which had bananas, honey, and I believe cream cheese or something inside because they didn't have the fluff or caramel... Words can't describe the party that was going on in my mouth with the first bite. It was genius, the crust on the french toast is from frosted flakes that they coat it with... I highly recommend and will definitely be back soon.
