Google pls introduce zero stars. Avoid unless you're white/regular. Apart from hype reg oldest bar in SD, absolutely trash experience. My 1st night in SD I get kicked out by security for kissing a girl (surprise). Very loud & rude lady bartender too. The GIRL & I both walked out in to the night & she complained she never objected or had a problem. The security still didn't care cuz he said 'some ppl' were uncomfortable. I decide to give it another shot 3 days later. Bad choice. Guy at bar is all haha but consistently & deliberately ignores non-whites & non-regulars. Not once, 3 times this happened; I dropped the idea to order my 3rd drink. Literally had to wave him like he was a baby. Clearly staff doesn't care about visitors or new business cuz they know their hype & regular clientèle will work every day.

My girlfriend and I were walkabout in San Diego with no clue as to where to go. I googled dive bars near me and this place popped up close by. We really enjoyed it and stopped in more than once on our trip. Prices were pretty good compared to what you pay in the area. The staff was great every time.

My type of dive bar and eats. To many IPAs though. Be careful with those, they are the leading cause of cervical cancer in men. But they do have beer, cool staff, happy go lucky vibe, and great location. Cheers. Oh yeah, they have beer.

Wow!!!! What a awesome place to grab a bite to eat and a cold drink. It's almost like walking in to a time capsule of all the great things about San Diego. Love, Love, Love it❤❤❤. First time I came in I was treated like family. What a great group of people. Hospitality defined.

Anyone who knows the Gaslamp and downtown San Diego, knows Tivolis! Gaslamp’s oldest bar and such a comfortable welcoming place. Great bar food (tots, fries, wings, street tacos, mozz sticks, etc.) and an amazing atmosphere and even better people watching. If you’re looking for a bar with history this is you place! Good times coupled with good stories!

Oldest bar in San Diego (1885)! A good spot for pre-padres game drinks. Grab a few pitchers here before you go spend your whole paycheck at the game 😄. They also offer some decent bar food.

Oldest bar in the Gaslamp? Best dive in the Gaslamp? Probably both! Great gathering spot for happy hour or post-event beverages. Pro-tip: Find the "Mick Jagger bathroom"

Our bartender really wanted to find drinks we would enjoy. She made me a wonderful drink called the white girl which I am and it was delicious. This is the oldest bar in san diego. Check it out beautiful bar back and lots of memorabilia. Walk onto history and just soak up all those who came before you.

Definitely a dive bar, a staple in the community, and the oldest bar in San Diego. It's a charming joint fit for tourist's and locals alike.

Unofficially the oldest bar in S.D. but nevertheless the oldest. Good drinks and great bar food. There's a reason it's been here so long. Not to far from the ballpark, indoor/outdoor seating, full bar, good service. Love this spot!

I rarely ever leave reviews but let me tell you, avoid this bar at all costs. Stopped in before the Padres game and the bartender was frankly just rude. We simply could not believe the shear hatred the bartender had for his role. Not only were the drinks mediocre but the bartender was also clueless. Could not be more dissatisfied.

True to form drinking bar, some might say dive bar! Heavy pours, good bartenders. Good prices. Great place to drink in glitzy downtown San Diego

Great bar in the heart downtown Been open for something like 100 years. Cheap drinks with an outside patio in the heart of downtown. Popular with the Padres games and events at the stadium.

Plain old good drinks and good times. This place is an excellent contrast to what everyone usually puts up with when they go out downtown. Simple drinks that aren't watered down. The service is prompt. You can expect to leave this place with some of your money still in your wallet. That's rare downtown.

Another good San Diego dive, outside area where you can drink and smoke. Didn't eat there. Stools still not back at the bar, which is a bummer. Will definitely go back.

No nonsense bar and grill. Historic. Wyatt Earp used to frequent it. Burgers are old fashioned made, reminded me of the 60s.

This is a bar's bar. No frills or gimmicks. You go there to have a few drinks with your friends and enjoy some good music. The bartenders were awesome and we had a great time.

Post game after a must win by the Padres to even the NLCS series at one game a piece. A Joyful time for the city and the franchise.Amid the crowds of people and chaos , the staff and industry people.work relentlessly to keep the patrons content and pleasant.

Oldest bar in SD and a great dive bar. Gaslamp can have a lot of shiny and upscale places but we always love to find the “hole in the wall” dive bars. Great place to have a drink, conversation without loud music and great prices.

Beautiful little blast from the past, I stepped in for a few drinks and the bartender was fantastic, for being the oldest bar in San Diego it sure looks it with its Original Bar and memorabilia. Highly recommend for anyone strolling thru the GasLamp District.
