I am I. Town for a conference and not familiar with the area. Decided to check this place out. The service was excellent my waitress was Alex and she made some solid recommendations. Got the chicken enchiladas and they were out so fast. I basically inhaled my food but it tasted delicious. The bed of black beans was hearty and healthy and I found the three small sized enchiladas were perfect for me as I was very hungry. I also got the churros after dinner and they were fresh made and the dipping sauce was to die for. Really great meal !

Great food and vibe in the Gaslamp District. If you're able to, hit up their Taco Tuesday or Happy Hour. Unfortunately, my group wasn't able to make either, but they have pretty good deals. Nonetheless, still a good place to hit up. Service was friendly and it's a pretty big restaurant so great for groups. Definitely reserve! I got their Michelada to drink. You'll get the beer on the side so you can pour it yourself. Really good balance with their spice blend. I got their Short Rib Tacos with their Corn as a side. The tacos were pretty good, but I would probably get their Al Pastor instead. I really enjoyed the Corn and it was my suprisingly favorite part. Sweet, creamy and fresh!

Came on a Monday during Happy Hour where they have $4.50 beers, and about 5 items under $11 each. We went with: Fish Taco - came with one, but pretty large and filling Calamari - seasoned really well and nice and crunchy! Came with two dips which we really enjoyed. Queso Crisp - which was like a crispy chip pizza thing with toppings. Pretty interesting take as it was sliced like a pizza! Overall ambiance was pretty fun with lots of TVs playing and very attentive staff.

Excellent service! Our waitress had a lot of tables to cover by herself but she was attentive and friendly despite being busy. The food was OK. Weโ€™ll definitely go back to try other things from the menu because Iโ€™m guessing we didnโ€™t pick the best options tonight. We shared calamari and Maine lobster tacos. The calamari was decent, slightly over cooked but itโ€™s a hard food to get perfect. The lobster meat in the tacos, however, was not great. Totally bland and a mushier consistency than lobster meat should have. So Iโ€™m guessing this lobster meat was perhaps frozen. Maine lobster must be eaten within a couple days of cooking the lobster, and this was clearly older than that. Side note, the pinto beans were super delicious. Because the service was so good, weโ€™ll give this place another chance. But definitely do not get the lobster tacos. Head over to Wicked Maine Lobster in Little Italy if you want delicious lobster tacos.

The chicken enchiladas? Fantastic. The salsa flight? Fantastic. Their spicy salsa? Actually spicy. The service was great too. They're mostly dinged one star because the portions could be bigger on the entree even though it looked and tasted amazing.

Located on the corner of J st. & 7th Ave. near Petco Park. We've been coming to "The Blind Burro" for many years now because it never disappoints. Today, I had their 'Burro-ito Barbacoa' which is slow braised beef burrito (a bit spicy) accompanied with a 'Strawberry Margarita'. My husband had their 'Carne Asada Chimichanga' which is a deep fried steak burrito. Both are pretty big in size and tasted delicious with fresh ingredients... We liked the Chimichanga a lot. Shout out to our server 'Alyssa' who was very attentive and did not rush us at all. The restaurant is always clean and organized with outside seating and plenty of TVs throughout so we enjoy watching sports here...the restrooms are also clean every time we've visited. It's always a great time here, which is why we return.

We visited at around 1:30 on a Friday and we had no problems getting a table. The waitstaff were great they were super helpful and friendly. Caveat this review is from a Texan viewpoint: more flavor needed. The queso especial we were able to get without the potatoes, that was nice. It mentions it is made from three cheeses the one you taste the most was very reminiscent of be cream cheese. Our favorite was the the Al Pastor tacos every thing about the tacos were great. The Carne Asada Cali was big. The Chicken Tinga Torta was disappointing the flavor of the meat was not present. (Maybe not a California thing, but if any Texas visitors are reading this do not expect chips and salsa at the table.)

I had their nachos which were quite yummy and plenty for two. More traditional Mexican ingredients made it unique. I was there after a game let out, so it was very loud and busy, The crowd was lively and a bit claustrophobic. The only reason I gave the atmosphere a 3. But expect it to be different at other times or under other circumstances. Do very much recommend giving them.

Nachos were too thick and were quite hard to chew (be careful not to bite on it too quick). The powerbowl had an interesting taste, but I appreciate the big serving. There weren't a lot of customers when we were there, but it took a while to get our orders and receipts.

Stopped in for a bite at The Blind Burro with family, our first time there. The setting was fun and lively with plenty of bar seating and a few TVs, making it a great spot to watch any game. Also, the service was wonderful, our waitress was on top of everything. As for the food and drinks, the best thing we ate was the cheese crisp appetizer (not pictured here) and a family side of street corn, while our short rib tacos and cup of pozole soup were just okay. The food was rather salty and our drinks were not that flavorful, nor strong. Overall, the menu had some great selections, but the quality just didnโ€™t quite match up to the price.

Nice and chill atmosphere. The food tasted fine, but the portion sizes were small based off the price. The fish and Carne asada tacos were alright, but you can do better outside of the tourist row.

I definitely recommend the lobster tacos. The salsa and chips were incredible. I ate on those the entire meal! The rice and pinto beans were pretty good as well. The street corn was okay. It was highly recommended but there was a lot going on. Also, you kind of bet on margaritas at places like this but the pineapple margarita was, again, okay. The service was good and the outdoor dining options were amazing. I'd return and try new menu items.

Overall good first experience. The restaurant itself is super cool, and very spacious. Nice menu with a large selection of Mexican favorites. Food was served hot and very fresh, with what seemed to be high quality ingredients. Didn't give give stars because everything was spicy and wish it was optional, because tortillas had an odd flavor and were not as freshly soft as they should be, and because I was hoping for a slightly more authentic Mexican flavor. Outside of that, it was a great time.

We had a group of 8 and the staff at The Blind Burro were quick to seat us and get drinks started. Our service was excellent and everyone was pleased with their food. The server went out of her way to get us separate receipts for drinks and food.

The only thing keeping me from giving this place one star was the margaritas. They were strong and flavored well. The fish tacos were bland and dry. The black beans were not too bad. But $70 for two tacos and two drinks wasn't worth it. Yeah, I know, it's in the Gaslamp district so tourist beware but this was just not worth it. The young lady that helped me was pleasant thou so that's a plus.

Great place to take the kids. We had a group of 10, they were able to seat us right away during comic-con week. Luck or Great service. Either way, they were great ๐Ÿ‘

Came here with a friend for dinner and a drink. Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was great. Although it was dead inside it started to pick up a little bit more on this Thursday night around 7:00 or 8:00. The drinks were pretty good, and the food was average. I must say the food was incredibly overpriced for what it was. The giant machete quesadilla was literally dripping with liquid cheese inside in a not good way. It was impossible to eat and was dripping all over the place. I ate the shrimp out of it which was good but for $25 you would expect something a little better. My friend got the carnitas type tacos. They were pretty basic again, for 23 to $25. For two entrees and one drink each after tip it was $116. A little absurd. Again the service and the atmosphere was fantastic, come here for drinks not for the food..

A nice local restaurant for a happy hour with a solid Mexican menu. The classic dishes were done well. Hearty serving of stacked nachos. Great flavor on the quesadillas. Come here for a relaxing experience with a laid back ambience. Friendly and efficient service.

Definitely get the machete! Been here twice and got the steak the first time, chicken the second and did not disappoint. Really good atmosphere as well.

We decided to try this place on spur of the moment and definitely do not regret it. Had a wonderful time with my husband. Drinks were delicious and the food was too. Staff was very friendly and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We ate outside cause the weather was perfect.

Great place to grab a drink before the Padres game, if you can get a drink that is. Bartenders seem to skip over you unless your aggressively loud.

Good Mexican restaurant and bar. Came with a group and we enjoyed our team dinner. Service was excellent and good was great. Good part is the boss paid for all of it ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The food and service were excellent. Atmosphere was lively and every tv had the Padres game. We ordered the chicken pozole, and the panzenella salad - both excellent. The kids menu chicken taco was a hit too. The chips were hot, fresh & homemade. The skinny margarita was great. Highly recommend!

If youโ€™re looking for some great elevated Mexican Food with amazing people watching then The Blind Burro in East Village is the place for you! Great menu and variety of drinks and the staff is kind and friendly. Great place to go before a night out in the Gaslamp or before a Padres game!

Had fish tacos with street corn. I must say the street corn was really good but the fish tacos not so much. There was way too much breading on the fish. More breading than fish next time ill have to try it grilled. That lime I had was so damn dry it shot right out of my hand and onto the floor cause it was so hard I couldn't squeeze it lol Atmosphere was nice though
