I have stayed at many hotels, I understand we are post COVID, expenses may have been a priority but the rooms are not well kept. My shower/tub was dumping water out of the faucet for the tub when I showered and drained slow. AC unit had a funky smell, and it was dusty. I couldn’t stop coughing in my room, for the whole trip. Carpet is dated… entertainment and decor was modern. Bed was comfortable but found a stain on mattress pad, gross. Staff is friendly…. Nice conference spaces… main restaurant was closed… buffet/breakfast expensive or none existent. Pools are very nice…. Great views… so the establishment was and could be awesome… fix the rooms and get the restaurant back open , I’ll be back.

Service is fantastic. Outdoor pool is great for lounging and people watching. Outdoor cinema area is an absolute vibe. Beds were comfy and shower had great pressure. Room had some peeling paint in the bathroom as well as scratches on furniture and dust in some areas. What I don't understand is why I had to spend $32 for a breakfast buffet...where's the continental breakfast? Really? $500/night and I still have to pay for breakfast? Also, I was given a piece of paper with various things that were included with my stay. One of which was $10 off at Sally's Seafood...they didn't take the $10 off our bill despite reminding the staff 3x, so we just left. Top of the Hyatt restaurant/bar had insane pricing on everything. I would stay here again if I were to have a solid discount, but other than that it's just not worth the pricing. Still had fun though. Huge thank you to the kind staff that helped to make my stay a good one.

A great place in San Diego, CA to host and run a conference/seminar, now that CA is more open to in-person events. This hotel is big enough to host all participants and it is conveniently located near the airport and downtown San Diego. It has beautiful scenery and located next to the docks and piers. There are a lot of walkways next to the water and you can walk to most places to eat. The rooms are well kept and the staff, at all levels, are friendly. The cleaning staff said “good morning” to me every day. I did not eat in at the restaurant or bar, but the bar area and drinks were nice. The on-site Starbucks was convenient, but very busy most all the time. The lobby is impressive and bustling. The conference rooms and ball rooms are nice, and the food provided was pretty nice. It was nice to be located in the same building as my conference. It made everything extremely efficient.

Second time staying at this beautiful hotel, this time it was recently renovated. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and you can't be the view. You were on the 29th floor in the corner room with 180° view of the bay it was fantastic. Everything is so accessible and there's so many things to do around the area. Highly recommend staying here if you were planning to go to San Diego. Try to get the southern corner on a higher floor, just check out the morning/afternoon/night views I had below.

The service was great. The gentlemen that helped us to and from the room with our bags were excellent. The room was a little bit beat up, but it was very spacious and the view was INCREDIBLE. Having that much space right in downtown San Diego is hard to come by. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite and it was a great space for me, my husband, my parents and our two kids. We easily and comfortably spent a week in the hotel without feeling the least bit claustrophobic. The location is perfect. I loved being steps away from Seaport Village and so many other things. The kids and I also loved the swimming pool on the roof. We would absolutely stay again!

This week long hotel stay was great for my family. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and quiet. My kids really loved the pool. It was 3 feet deep which was great for my new swimmer. The Market One food in the lobby saved us so many times! We were too tired to go out for food, so we had a lot of meals there. The options are healthy and tasty, but a little pricey. We treated ourselves for sure! Parking was a little tight and expensive, but I appreciate that they have the garage at all. It would be a nightmare trying to find parking anywhere else. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place to others.

My husband and I've stayed at this Hyatt several times and have enjoyed my stays, I will bring my family to this hotel this weekend. The Grand Hyatt was a perfect hotel to stay at. It's right on the water in downtown San Diego and is within walking distance of anything you could possibly want to do in the area. Hotel staffs are warm and welcoming. Rooms are nice, clean and nice view. Beds are comfortable. The line to the front desk was extremely long, if you can use a global list line it doesn't matter.

The lobby is definitely very grand, though the rooms are pretty ordinary. Clean and modern. Staff were very friendly. Great views, probably from every room. I especially appreciated that the elevators were fast and the wait for them was always brief. Like most large hotels, food and beverage prices are extravagant. Tip: a 16oz coffee in the "Market" was$4.50; if you walk 100 yards across a parking lot to the nearby Starbucks it's $3.

Great choice in San Diego for Globalists traveling in town. We booked a 1 night stay after a long flight into San Diego and were thrilled to get upgraded to a high floor, club level room. The views of the bay and downtown San Diego were great. Excellent customer service upon arrival from valet to the front desk. Was offered all globalist benefits such as water, late check-out, etc without having to ask. The following morning the club lounge had great breakfast options. Highly recommend to those needing a hotel close to the airport and I look forward to returning for a longer stay in the future.

Beautiful hotel. One of the tallest hotels in San Diego. Rooms were nice ,my view was absolutely beautiful . The beautiful harbor view kept me awake. The pool area is magnificent. Absolutely fantastic that you can walk out the back door and be in seaport village with all the cool shops and restaurants . Parking fees are charged separately, so check in advance. Went to the top of the Hyatt one evening to enjoy holiday atmosphere , view . It overall a good place to stay .

Our family of four had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful property for seven nights. The location of the hotel is very convenient and you get beautiful views of the bay all around. Walking distance to many fun places. Our room was spacious and clean. Hotel has many amenities and everything was very nice. The pool was kept at a nice temperature so we were able to enjoy it daily even in November. Definitely a place to stay in San Diego.

Pool: you probably can’t use it after 4pm because they rent it out most evenings at least during our stay Room cleaning service: our housekeeper was phenomenal. I’m not sure if there’s not enough staff on housekeeping though. Food room service: our first night the salmon was amazing. Second night it wasn’t so good. Third time ordering the salmon we received a dried out portion only 1/3 the size of our first. On complaint we received another order a total of two hours after our initial call -‘it was the original overcooked piece with a second small piece. Our breakfast was supposed to have more sausage than we received. At 45$ for one order of scrambled eggs and sausage it seems important to get all that is promised All that said, overall we were content and happy there due to location and comfort. It’s proximity to transit and the convention center are stellar. The grounds are quite nice. Check out the top of the Hyatt view. We chose not to pay for the view rooms. Even so we loved our view. Sunrise and we even saw sea lions from our window.

The breathtaking sight from my 31st-floor room was truly spectacular. Opting for room service, I ordered a delightful meal, and despite a minor hiccup where they initially got my order wrong, the staff efficiently corrected it, though without any additional gesture like complimentary dessert. The food itself was excellent, making up for the minor service mishap. Furthermore, the room's refrigerator was malfunctioning, necessitating a replacement, which took quite some time to cool down. Despite these minor inconveniences, the overall experience was tranquil and rejuvenating. I highly recommend this place to anyone, even though the rooms may be a tad outdated, they are impeccably clean and pleasant.

Such a beautiful hotel that is so well laid out. I was here for a conference and all of the staff was incredibly accommodating and kind. There are a million restaurants and shops directly around the hotel, as well as some that are inside. All the food is amazing and prices were better than I expected. The rooms have amazing views and were incredibly clean. If I'm ever in San Diego again, I will absolutely stay here again!

My wife and I had an excellent experience staying here to celebrate my birthday. The room and property were comfortable, clean, and luxurious. The hotel is within walking distance of lots of attractions and we never had to wait long for an elevator. The bay view was absolutely gorgeous and the breakfast buffet included in our package was decent.

The hotel is excellent, boasting a superb staff, immaculate cleanliness, and convenient proximity to GasLamp. During my conference stay, I found it easy to walk to the convention center. The phenomenal view from my hotel room added to the overall positive experience. Additionally, the nearby Seaport Village, offering a charming environment for dining, shopping, and bay views, further enhanced my satisfaction. I highly recommend this hotel.

Shout out to Josh at the front desk and the staff at the Grand Club for their great service. Normally I don’t like Destination Fees, and while I don’t love this one, it at least includes some usable features like a free harbor cruise, bike rental, and kayak rental. The only annoying thing is that you only get one of each per room. So if you have two people in your room, only one person gets a complimentary harbor cruise. Also the shoe shine person never showed up so we couldn’t utilize that benefit. Views are great and this hotel is massive with two wings.

The signature suite was a little outdated/sterile feeling and the views could have been better (my view was of a rooftop). However, it was large and quiet. Staying as a globalist was nice. Grand club was awesome (top tier in my experience, especially dinner) and the staff was very inviting. The lounge can get packed often, so make sure you plan ahead. Front desk staff was excellent, and accommodating. Complimentary upgrade was excellent. Breakfast benefit was top tier, as well. I was able to enjoy a la carte ordering from a set menu in the morning, but most of the time there is a buffet. Valet was quick and efficient, just a text message away. Pool/ gym/ outdoor movie theatre and activity area were excellent. I will definitely be back!

The overall experience at Grand Hyatt is pretty bad. I can’t believe it is a 4 star hotel. First of all, please be aware of the destination fee at Hyatt. They will charge extra 40 dollars per night for the destination fee. Please be aware of the charge in advance. The room and facilities are pretty old. The worst part of it is they don’t have hot water when we checked in. When we called the front desk, they just said you will have to wait for a really long time to get hot water. We tried at least 15 minutes and still didn’t get hot water. The refused to change our room until we insisted after 1 hour and it is over 12 am! Also, they said their manager will follow up with a call but they never called back. The phone in the room is also dirty with some ketchup or jam on the mic. The experience is awful. Finally, when we checked out and they incorrectly billed us for the breakfast which should be included in the package. When we tried to contact them, their office hour is closed. It is the worst experience I have with the “4” star hotel. Don’t waste your money and time here. Go find a better place.

I stayed here for an Insurance Convention. When I arrived my room was ready and was upgraded to a higher floor with a great view. I ate the first night at the Landing which I had a grilled chicken Cesar Salad. It was pretty good with plenty of chicken. The only thing I would suggest is having the Cesar dressing already mixed in, I really don’t like mixing it myself as the bowl was filled high with the lettuce and chicken. The maid service was outstanding. My room was maid up before 10am each morning that I was there. The location was perfect as I was able to run along the marina pathway for miles and miles. The area was as pretty safe as I ventured out around 3 to 4 am for my runs. My only complaint is the pool condition. It seems old and is in need of a serious renovation. I had a couple of meetings/ parties at the Marriott next door and their pool looked much better, even the Hilton had a nicer pool. Maybe next year, I will be surprised by a different pool motif.

This is the nicest of the waterfront San Diego hotels (other than maybe the Intercontinental but i haven't stayed there). Better than the Hilton and the Marriott and the rest. Views are fantastic if you get a high floor like I did (one below the top floor lounge). Executive Lounge is great as you'd expect from a Grand Hyatt with enough food to constitute a light dinner. I had an issue with my room but the management took care of it so kudos to the staff here!

Absolutely wonderful hotel. I have been here several times and will have to say it is one of my favorite hotels stateside. We went for a birthday trip and really set the tone. Wonderful views of the marina and downtown San Diego. Pool area is good for lounging. Hoping they open up the third floor pool again but otherwise the main pool area is great. Steps away from the marina, I usually get up and go for jog and there are always lots of joggers/walkers along the 2 mile pedestrian walkway next to the water. It felt very safe and decent number of food/coffee options along the way.

I love this hotel. Everyone works very hard and tries to make things nice for the guests. In this day and age, quality service is almost non-existent. But not at this hotel. Each team member that I met with hustles to make things special. In particular, my new friend Serawit is the best wait person that I've met in a long time. I enjoyed speaking with him each morning and I could tell his team members respected him greatly. I look forward to seeing him and everyone else here soon.

Stayed at this hotel because it was the site for our company’s leadership summit. The hotel is located next door to the Seaport Village area which had some cute shops and restaurants. The area is very easy to explore. The hotel itself was beautiful and had a great outdoor pool area with a fire pit and great views of the harbor. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet downstairs was also quite good. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk staff were great. The banquet team provided us top notch service throughout our event. This hotel really helped to make my first trip to San Diego a great one.

These guys are friendly and a great place to stay, close to the gas lamp district and some amazing restaurants. Stayed for a conference and they catered great to meet our needs. I didn’t give a 5 star rating because of the hair in the bathroom and debris on the carpets. Otherwise the beds and pillows were comfy and the views were amazing!

Stayed here for 3 days and I would rate it 4/5 stars. I loved that this place is pet friendly and loved the complimentary water and accommodating parking garage. They also checked us into a different room when we arrived 1 hour early. I’m taking only 1 star off since the restroom wasn’t as clean as I expected. Overall great place to stay! Great views!

Attended a conference at the grand Hyatt and stayed for two nights. The grounds were clean and beds were comfortable. Had some wine at “the rope of the Hyatt” highly recommended as the views are amazing and service impeccable. While the entire stay was magnificent it all started with Cynthia checking us in. She was helpful, friendly and professional. Truly feel like her attitude set the tone for the weekend. Would highly recommend this place to anyone staying downtown. Location is unparalleled with restaurants and coffee all walking distance.

Stayed her during a conference labour day weekend. Stayed on the 36 floor. Amazing views. Clean room. Very clean bathrooms. Ordered room service a couple of times and it was quick and delicious. The hotel is right on the waterfront and the edge of the gas lamp district. Great location. The staff were excellent, friendly and happy to help. Facilities were amazing. Rooftop pool, exercise room and restaurants and bars. Loved this place. I look forward to going back.

Wow how did I forget to review this hotel. Stayed four times last year alone! It is large and great for conventions. Victor makes sure we love our room. One of the best Hyatt breakfasts around. It’s over 1700 rooms so yes it’s big. Great views of harbor. Across the street I get poke, Starbucks and if you want there is even a Cheesecake Factory. Valet can take time so order your car with a few extra minutes if hotel is busy.

My family and I stayed here for two nights. It was during a busy weekend; however, our stay was still enjoyable. We did use the Hyatt award points to book this so we only had to pay for parking ($40 per night) and the resort fee ($39 per night). It was my family's first time staying at a Grand Hyatt and the luxury factor is there. The building is well maintained, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are clean. The biggest pro for this hotel is the location. One of the rear exits directly connect to Sea Port Village so it is very convenient if you're looking for a waterfront location. Another good pro are the included amenities with the resort fee. Included are a kayak rental, $10 drink credit for the top floor, a bike rental, etc. One of the cons is the busy facility. Check in can be a pain if you're not a Hyatt Loyalty member. The last con is busy elevators. It can take a minute to grab a lift although there are five elevators in each tower. Overall, I do recommend this location. It can be expensive if paying the cash rate but the location, amenities, and ambience are worth it.
