I stayed at Sharp Memorial for 32 days and it was an amazing experience (despite my diagnosis). The care team all the way from the Admins, Nurses, Support Staff and Doctors have all been wonderful. No task was too tall and they really made me feel at home for my very long stay. I am so happy that I was under the care of Sharp and will continue to use their services throughout my healthcare journey.

Worst Hospital ever. I came to the ER. The front nurse was somewhat rude. The Vitals guy was pretending to type my symptoms up even though nothing was actually typing on the screen. He was rolling his eyes at me and in this “I don’t really care” mood. A “doctor” was standing too close and invading my personal space and was more like a police officer than a doctor who cares. The room was still filthy, full of trash and biohazardous materials. And a lady came in and mopped up while I waited for care. Towards the end another lady who was going to “register” me even though I was already in their system refused to let me see what was on my record even though she said she was just registering me.. even though I was already in there. She even refused to show me what it said and changed information before I could see her screen. This is not only the worst hospital of any place that was supposed to “care” about you, they showed the opposite and showed they didn’t care. Only one nurse who saw me spent a little time to talk and express some care.

Just do yourself or your family members a favor...DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL.! The Doctors here have absolutely no clue what they are doing. The only good thing I can say is that the Nurses on the floors are good, not in the ER but on the floors they are. I will never bring my mother back to this hospital ever again. We are now with Scripps Hospital and they already have a great care plan for my mother. If you want great care and want to live then avoid this Hospital completely.

To say I am disappointed is an understatement. This hospital used to be one of the top tier hospitals ever. My mom received her kidney transplant there in 2001, and they had top notch doctors, nurses, staff, equipment. She would go to this hospital at least once a year since then for complications with the flu etc and we had nothing but trust and hopefulness. Over the last 3 years I have seen this hospital at its worst, with no sights in getting better. My mom contracted an infectious disease and thus her long haul journey of hospital stays (she's probably lived at the hospital more than her own house tbh) and it has been nothing but mistake after mistake after mistake. If I hadn't pushed for an MRI (3 years ago) my mom wouldn't be here. Shes contracted scabies, MRSA, multiple infections. The patients that are immobile get left in their stool and urine for HOURS without someone checking on them. I was FaceTiming my mom for 1.5 hours and she asked to be changed and a nurse never showed up. They are not clean when inserting catheters and do so without disinfecting the area first. They constantly leave trash to be overfull. The nurses ignore you and you have to have someone to advocate for you. The majority of the doctors have no bedside manner. I understand that they might be over worked, but something needs to change. These are human beings- I can only imagine what the patients that are left alone all day and cant communicate go through .They are constantly using trainees on the immobile patients who cant defend themselves or speak up for themselves. It's been mistake after mistake after mistake. They don't know what they're doing. My brother spoke to another woman at the hospital who was complaining about the same things. We kept coming back because they have my moms whole history and I am SHOCKED they have a grade A. I will continue my research to find a hospital that cares about their patients.

Horrible hospital. Horrible staff. UPDATE OF REVIEW: As of Nov. 29th, I called my family member who is at Sharp Memorial Hospital. I called because I was unable to stay with him overnight. It is now past 9AM and hospital staff still has not brought in his food. The issue with bringing in food late or his food going missing has been ongoing and we have expressed our concerns with the nurses/staff. When we were on floor 7 -- everyone was very prompt with deliveries. We are on floor 3 now and everyone seems to not be communicating well or something. They contiously either "lost" the patients food and or bringa it in hours later. I will continue to update this review until the staff decides to figure it out. I have a family member staying in Sharp Memorial Hospital. All of the nurses have been wonderful and have made me and my family member feel very welcome except for one nurse by the name of Deb. From the beginning she did not seem like she cared and did not have any empathy and would forget to bring in my family member's food. The way she talked to us was not like any of the other of the nurses and it felt very passive aggressive. During our stay, most of our nurses would bring in the patient's food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I completely understand if some days if it's not their job - but I feel like it is still the patient's nurse's job to at least check-in to see whether or not someone else brought in their food. The food was left on the counter at the nurses' station past 3pm. I knew that the food was set up to our floor because I called the downstairs kitchen had told me that they had already sent the food upstairs since 12pm. By the time I left the room around 2/3pm -- I saw my family member's food sitting there on the counter still so I went to bought lunch for them instead. Other than that -- everyone else and all the other AMAZING nurses were great. Special shoutout to nurses on Floor 7 too. Amazing staff and we are so thankful for Floor 7!

ER is super quick, took my dad to ER for un specified GI bleeding, and did endoscopy. Even though I made a problem for the nurse, I felt bad, however so far choosing sharp is a good experience. I was considered between Sharp and Scripp, I decided to chose Sharp. I have never disappointed with my choice. The RN, doctor, CPT, transporter, nurse assistance are so great, they are very thorough, take care of every details, always ask if we need helps. Especially RN Patrich , he works night shift , no words to say , he's fabulous, amazing, knowledgeable, kind, empathy, we were lucky when we could be taken care by him. Thank you sharp's . Thank you Patrich.

I was at Sharps Memorial Hospital 2 years ago, came right off the streets.. homeless 5 years, in the hospital with osteomyelitis.. spent a month there getting better.. long story short, I'm back home in New Jersey with my family and it all started at this hospital.. thank you so very much for helping me get home and get better.. I now work at a hospital myself, doing housekeeping for now! I hope the nurses and everyone involved in the process get to hear this message, thank you so much! ❤

On Tuesday night 2/30/24, I went to the emergency room after already going through a miscarriage and lots of bleeding. I had a fever through my time being pregnant and symptoms I wasn't sure were pregnancy related or not. A week before this, I found myself at Pomerado and had a HORRIBLE experience. I am a very calm, understanding and kind patient. I actually have WCS and hospitals/clinics give me anxiety and make it hard for me to speak up. But Pomerado was the first time in my entire life I actually raised my voice at a hospital and left AMA. Back to Sharp, my experience there was amazing. Absolutely amazing. Every nurse I was in contact with was compassionate and kind, including the doctor. I ended up having a fainting episode which was not close to why I was there. They instantly got my in a wheelchair and promptly took me back to a room. I was waiting less than 15 minutes before I was in a room. I did not wait more than 10 minutes in-between each test they conducted. Which, they did the whole work-up. I felt like a car that got a tune up at the mechanic by the time I was done lol. They made sure they checked absolutely everything, despite the fact that I was only there for my "chief" complaint. They ended up finding out that I actually had an infection, one that actually could have been taken care of an prevented my miscarriage had Pomerado taken a second to care about me. Thank you, to everyone at Sharp, for making me feel like a human; for making me feel seen and heard.

Best service ever… I was their today for umbilical hernia by Dr. Imler.. Nurses were super nice I have met two Christian nurses which were filled with joy and peace…very thankful for the surgeon, Doctors and the nurses… Parking was free for all day long… I have checked in at 10:30 and discharged by 01:30pm Companions must have a vaccination card to allow them to stay with the patient.

my dad had tough time with emergency service in this hospital. he had a stomachache, the pain was going badly and we asked for the bed for him. i did understand and empathy when they said there are not enough bed for patients. after blood test, we waited for almost 2 hours to be called. then another 2 hours to get treatment. it was terrible. the gate keeper nurse is very careless.

To start, This is a positive review. However, I was in bad shape this morning and my partner noticed it. Unfortunately, we had to postpone doing something that we had planned but he insisted on taking me to Sharp Memorial Hospital. I was taken care of right away in the ER, doing all sorts of tests and testing. And things. It was determined that I would be taken to a room in the hospital. I was immediately taken up to South Tower, where met by medical team who set me up with my own room. I had a terrific doctor monitoring my case with drips and medications. My doctor's name was Dr Kasper J Warrick. My first two nurses Sam and Kristina welcomed me, and made me feel safe and comfortable. I also wanted to especially thank Nurse Assistant Elizabeth, for assisting me all day. I only stayed in that room one night because they needed my it for a stroke patient. I was moved into an even better room in another part of the hospital on my second day. I was taken from the South Tower to the North Tower. My first nurse was great, and his name was Jarred. Finally, Dyllan and Michelle checked me out to my partner on my third morning. This review is also to say that each of the rooms were very clean and large, and well made up, well appointed. The bathrooms were also very sanitary, with lots of cleaning supplies. However, the North Tower is so much more than the South Tower. EXCELLENT!!! The charge nurses also were involved with my stay and very helpful.

The facility is clean and staff was really nice (everyone of them). I was in ER at about 10am for gallbladder inflammation. It was the most painful thing I ever experienced. They settle me in a room and had the equipment coming to the bed. Then I was out of surgery at 7pm that night. I was released the next day. I have all the good things to say about this facility and the people.

Great team and care. They tested all the important stuff immediately. I had to wait a long time in the waiting room before getting a room, but it was worth it. The transporters, the nurses, the MRI team, everyone was so kind and helpful while I have been feeling sick and a little scared. Thank you

We wanted to share our gratitude to the staff on the ER and ICU for the quick and excellent care they provided to my family after a life threatening accident. If it were not for their care and experience, we would have lost our family member. Even with a medical background, we had difficulty understanding how to handle the gravity of the situation and the staff patiently helped us take on the stress and walked us through the plan. A special shout out to the nursing staff in the ICU who cared round the clock to keep her alive. We are forever grateful for your efforts.

I came to deliver fresh clothes for my wife. They told me someone will come to get it in a minute. I’ve been waiting for more than an hour already. Horrible attention and not a bit of care. I spoke to the receptionist three times and he told me they are on the way each time. Unbelievable.

Emergency treatment is great. Sometimes you may have to wait to be seen, but that is par for the course in a busy ER hospital. But if you went to an Urgent Care center and they transfer you to an Emergency Care center, you get quicker service to be seen and tests done quicker. Waiting was done in the Urgent Care, and Emergency Care is an extension of that service. Due to Covid-19 (didn't that change everything?), they don't allow accompaning persons with the patients inside. If you are an accompaning person and wait, waiting is down outside. To use restroom facilities, they have some porta-potty stalls. They won't let you inside. 😕 Be that as it may, Sharp is a good health care system.

You will be judged extremely especially for mental health when you bang your head against a ladder at work while slipping down... I'm very upset the way I was treated at your facility 12/05/2023 You treated me like I was crazy when I fell 6 ft at work and hit my head. Me being confused should be normal but instead you treat me like a psych patient because I have religious views and don't want foreign objects in my arm I was raised that way. Unless it's completely necessary to keep me alive then I don't need it. I had horrible anxiety throughout the entire stay and just wanted to leave. But instead of getting a cat scan for my head you people wanted to use me and my husband because we've amazing insurance federal actually. So you people oh DOCTOR MARK ZHANG ORDERED A CHEST X RAY AND EKG WHEN I DIDNT NEED EITHER OF THOSE. I don't want you to get a paid off of tests that aren't relevant to the issue at hand it seems like you're just using me and my money. Every person in there made me feel horrible because I was anxious and they judged grunted and laughed about it with co workers. I thought I'm supposed to trust you with my health especially after I've hit my head but instead your employees rather gloat and joke than actually help patients feel better and know their surroundings. This emergency room and hospital is a complete joke. I will be speaking with my lawyer once my injury heals up hope to hear what will be done about this matter, probably won't because you people get away with anything just because you've the name "doctor".

I was referred by a triage nurse to go to ED department at Sharp Memorial so they could do better work up on me than an urgent care. I sat knowing maybe awhile checked in at 11:00am. As I watched the waiting room get fuller by the minute, I waited & enquired why people where getting their blood done. I was told no orders were put in, that none were needed. I was finally called back to a room after waiting 5 hours. First thing they did was draw blood?? Why after being told none was needed. I get short staff, and people have to wait. But I felt singled out because no one was able to help me. So after an 8 hour day in the ER at Sharp Memorial ED department. Once again not shocked by the lack of care and concern for me as a patient.

Sharp Memorial is a wonderful establishment. Nurses like Tammi, Nikki, Karla (!), Natalia, Jazmin and Sherry, have made my stay comfortable. Tammi has been especially helpful when I'm lucky enough to have her as a Nurse Aid. Her bedside manner is impeccable. Surgeon, Dr. Degraft-Johnson is amazing, and has given me new Hope despite being faced with despair. My sister was born here and I believe my nephew will be as well. ***** I have to add to my review as I've had to return to Sharp for more major surgeries. Dr. Xu, the podiatrist performed a neat surgery on my foot and I am impressed with his work. I am healing quickly and he follows-up faithfully. My nurses (with only a couple exceptions) have been so friendly and compassionate and my pain is managed well while I am in their care. Dr. O'Rourke is by far, my favorite hospitalist! The manager is a pleasant person who has visited me twice during this stay, always assuring that my experience is positive. Sharp Memorial is my hospital of choice in San Diego, I still highly recommend them. Thank you Sharp Memorial Hospital!

Emergency —- 2/11/22. Unnecessarily rude apathetic and uncaring. They are just going through the motions. I am especially surprised by the female gate keeper nurse. Who showed no care or concern for the young lady that was bitten by a dog on the face. Not one person from the emergency room gate keeping nurses staff even offered her gauze to stop the bleeding. She had been there an hour and no one even tried to help her in triage. She signed out and left. Another lady went outside for fresh air and upon coming back in, Gate keeper nurse said they were signing her out and back in again making her 3 hour wait time to start over. I was given triage care upon arrival. I had ekg, blood work and an chest X-ray before needing to wait in the waiting area. The only reason I even went to this hospital was because it saved my father after falling 30 feet onto jagged rocks in 1995. This hospital saved my brother with a severe brain injury, also in the early 1990’s. Once in a room I was treated poorly by the Dr assigned to care for me. I had to refuse a bag of fluids filled with sodium because it would have made me vomit for hours. Had the Dr read my chart he would have known that. He never changed the orders so I could have fluids with different minerals. I left the hospital severely dehydrated. Night nurse wouldn’t let me pee before CT scan. Morning nurse was rude to my husband for asking where my discharge paper work was and lied and said she explained everything to me. This didn’t happen. She only said to follow up with primary care Dr. This E R doesn’t test you for Covid until after you wait 3 hours or more for a bed in ER to open up by sitting in the main waiting room. I tested positive after sitting there for 3 hours. Why don’t they test for Covid as part of the triage? Why did they potentially allow me to infect others? Being inside the ER waiting area is ok but the lady wanting fresh air was a problem? Then, said discharge paperwork tells me to self isolate until all symptoms pass? The contradictions are endless. Also, the night nurse blew my vein and had to poke me twice in each arm before IV was set. The lab took a lot of extra blood from both arms. I was poked 6 times total. Each one hurt. My arms are black and blue. I would not recommend coming here. If you have a choice not to, don’t

I was seriously injured at my workplace and regained consciousness in the trauma center where I spent the next week. I could not have been cared for by a better team of providers. From the physicians and nurses to the technicians and support staff I received not only the best medical care I have ever had, but every single person was genuinely dedicated to making my stay as positive and healing and comfortable as possible. I am so grateful to all of you for your love and dedication to my well being. Truly outstanding team of professionals. I will always be grateful.

I was in this Hospital in August of 2023. I wanted to take the time to recognize the staff on duty for my multiple day stay. Everyone was very friendly and very attentive, always checking in on me to make sure that my pain level was remaining consistent during my stay. The only small request would be communication to the associates taking you to your car, multiple times on our way out of the hospital I explained to the associate that my wife was directed to pick me up at different location due to the remodel. The associate kept going until we arrived exactly where I had stated that she would not be and said to me where is your wife. I then kind of chuckled and said to the associate I tried to explain this to you multiple times that she would not be here. This person clearly was not listening and assumed that I had my phone which was with my wife. Eventually my wife after waiting and not seeing me, drove around to find me. Maybe next time listen just a little and you will not be surprised. : )

I had the unfortunate opportunity to spend a number of hours at Sharp Memorial seeing off my father-in-law to The Night. But, I felt I should give kudos to a great hospital. It was like you would hope any hospital to be: they take of their patients w/ compassion, professionalism, exquisite skills and training. But one thing I also want to mention was...and y'all are going to scoff at this for sure....the food. The food was.....GOOD. Not a qualified good: "for a hospital, it was pretty good". It was straight up good. Better than most restaurants good. I gotta think the hospital leadership got tired of people cringing at the idea of hospital food and finally hired a head chef that knew how to run a cafeteria properly. I actually got extra to take home it was so good.

Terrible experience, waste of your time and money. I’ve waited for three hours to get to the doctor who ordered a CT scan. I’ve waited for an hour and a half to get the CT scan done just for him to come in and tell me he didn’t realize I was thin and I have to take an oral contrast pill for the scan to work. And wait for an hour for the pill to work. I’m glad they made me wait for all the time to realize I have to take a pill which takes an hour to kick in. How can you not realize that someone is thin when you talk to them at first and do the physical examination. Overall, 5h spent to do a simple ct scan

I am a former RN who has worked in several hospitals in california. I suffered a comminuted fracture of my left radius after a 12 ft fall onto a brick fire pit. After surgery the plates and screws in my arm became infected and I was admitted to Sharp memorial hospital for repeat surgery, a total of three so far. The one major thing that stands out is there is a highly consistent culture of care and respect for the patient by all staff, including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapy, nurse assistants, facilities maintenance, and even the staff that brings meals and takes away trays. In 25 plus years I have not experienced such consistency and professionalism in one hospital. There is of course a major nursing shortage in California, and many of my nurses were relatively new to the profession. Major shout out to HR and recruiting for finding such caring, capable, competent, and friendly nurses. I am highly impressed. Oh and I also have to share that the food they serve the patients is incredible. They hire actual chefs to design menus and deliver high quality meals. I was in the hospital on Thanksgiving and the turkey they served me was one of the best I've ever had. And chimichurri steak? Delicious. Dr. Alberton, my orthopedic surgeon, is astounding. Down to earth, very professional, highly competent, friendly, and shoots me straight. He has been very proactive in saving my arm, and has been readily accessible at all times. And I give a special mention here to my nurse Taylor. She has the mind of a steel trap, a genuine and caring heart, great sense of humor, and tremendous respect for her patients. I got into the nursing profession because I truly and genuinely care about healing others. She has the right motivation and Sharp memorial hospital is lucky to have her. I have surgery number four coming up in 6 weeks and knowing I'll be well taken care of really use a lot of the stress during this time. Thank you Sharp memorial hospital!

If you go to this "ER" be patient, as the staff is doing their best! People are seen not by arrival time but by their medical aid needed. Bless the staff for all they do! My wife came here to be treated and have a "CT Scan" the check in staff at the Hospital ER were excellent. I was able to enter the hospital with my wife. This is a very busy ER. Everyone connected with her care was outstanding (I wish I had all their names to thank them as well) Dr. Saul Levine attended to my wife, explaining in detail her "Concussion" and why she did not feel well. Tanya was the discharged nurse, she covered all paper work with us, she explained certain thinks my wife should and should not be doing and computer work was one of them, excellent catch Tanya since this is 99 percent of her job.Tanya is very caring and professional. Thank you again. As of this posting, my wife is doing much better.

I had a car accident and the first 3 days was great from my surgery, ICU nurse, and doctors. After my second surgery, the nurses in the recovery room were horrified and careless to my tremendous pain. Then the unit nurses and the charge nurse did not call the on call doctor during the night when my pain after the surgery was intense and the present medications were not enough. My pain was uncontrolled for about 15 hours. At last, the trauma doctor denied my request for hospital bed, bedside commode and shower chair while I was no weight baring on Lower left extremity and had broken ribs. One of the case manager there had terrible attitude. All these added to my trauma and stress while I was going through a lot already. I hope these won’t happen to anyone anymore.

My mom went in to the ER complaining of stomach pain and was immediately admitted into the hospital. The following day she had surgery and spent a few days recovering at Sharp hospital. Our whole experience was absolutely great, we wanted to thank our nurse Erin that to great care of our mother and the staff we interacted with on the 5th floor. Erin was very caring, compassionate and understanding when it came to my moms care, we couldn’t have asked for a better nurse. Dr. Wintz is a great surgeon! And we also wanted to thank her for her bedside manner and for preforming surgery on my mother and alleviating her pain. Thank you so much! - Pia and family

I had a horrific experience at the grossmont ER and I left hoping to find a hospital that would help me. When I got to memorial, the difference was night and day! Sure they were busy but waaay more efficient than most ERs I've seen. I was regularly checked on and updated, my conditions and symptoms were taken seriously and they got to the bottom of what was wrong in a matter of hours! Absolutely every person I encountered was kind, compassionate, and committed to their job. By the time I left I was feeling much better, with a diagnosis and treatment plan that made sense. So refreshing! If I can help it, Sharp Memorial will be my go-to hospital from now on.

I went in for kidney pain.. I have a kidney condition… they had me in and out.. told me a cyst on my kidney burst and thankfully gave me pain medicine since I was just pushing through the pain for four days before I came in … I never go to the dr or hospital but this time I was scared I never had kidney pain this long term and as painful… so the dr said my kidneys were in good function and just a cyst must have popped.. I asked a couple questions he just said to finish my iv and I could leave…. I got home and read my discharge papers it said I had cysts on my liver as well and my Fallopian tubes … and worry if hypertension … nobody told me anything about this when I was in there. We pay for good insurance I just have been scared trying to get other appointments made now after finding this out. The dr should have told me this in person. I feel like the dr wasn’t taking this seriously. I can’t believe he didn’t tell me while I was there all the stuff that’s going on in my body. Im left without answered it just causes me more anxiety.

On Thursday I was involved in a hit and run accident between my motorcycle and a truck. I was taken to this hospital. I want to express my gratitude for all the docs and nurses whom took care of me during my initial recovery. I was in 424 and I was cared for by Jess and other nurses. She was the only easy name I could have remembered. But a big thanks to everyone else. Again, I can’t explain my level of gratitude for saving my life.

I went here because one morning I got this burning sensation in my chest and started vomiting out of nowhere. My dad got mad and decided to call the hospital, I was escorted into the ambulance van and then met this one guy who was FILLED with love, joy, and peace, I'm very grateful for him. Anyways, he left me afterward, but I'm pretty sure that I fell in love with him. One and a half years later, he's still on my mind. Thankful to have met him! Overall, I had a positive experience at Sharp and the staff that took care of me while I was already in the hospital were very kind! Thank you! And I'm still thinking about this guy -_-

I came into the ER on Tuesday not feeling well and my nurse was mike. Didn’t catch his last name but he was very understanding and friendly. Didn’t treat me like a patient but more like a friend. Hospitals can be scary but he made my stay there very pleasant and I was admitted and he gave me all the heated blankets I needed. And it’s not only him it’s your whole staff that makes this hospital 🏥 no. 1 in my book

At first I thought my experience here was good, except when I went to another ER in Las Vegas (sunrise) for my continued pain. Here’s what happened: I checked in here after dealing with almost two weeks of excruciating pain, they looked me over and did an MRI of my thorax I believe. The doctor ended up saying nothing was found and that it’s just muscle pain and inflammation and in time it’ll go away. Not even morphine helped… and they should’ve gotten a hint when I told them my left arm was number, tingling, burning and in severe pain. After she thought I didn’t have any issues, I almost felt rushed out bc it wasn’t “an emergency” any longer in her mind. I left with meds that didn’t help. Next week, I went to sunrise… totally different experience. They did the proper tests, 2 hours of MRI’s on my neck and spine, with and without contrast. One doctor even asked, why would she had ordered that MRI? That’s not even where you needed it done. They ended up finding that my C6-7 disc was herniated and pressing on my spine. HENCE the tingling and numbness. They admitted me to emergency surgery where I got the disc removed, a cage and plate put in. Now my pain is actually gone (of course minus the surgery pain of course, which is nothing compared to my previous pain). I would recommend going somewhere else, as they didn’t diagnose me correctly and rushed me out after they thought it wasn’t an emergency. If I had trusted their diagnosis, I would’ve had permanent damage done to my left arm and possibly other areas.

I have to say that I had an excellent experience. Dr Goel made me feel as if I was her only patient. Not one foot in the door and the other out. And my nurses, Leigha W. and Shirley were both excellent on all levels. Leigha has that healing touch we all try to find. She cares about her patients without being overly empathetic. And Shirley, made me feel like she was constantly by my side and that everything was going to be alright. Thank you again and again. Christian F.

I have a heart condition and was hospitalized waiting for surgery to get an ICD placement. The execution of Policy and procedure are the driving force behind any and all companies success or failures. Customer service and our relations are just as important. I was told one night by one staff member that a certain policy was one thing and the very next day it changed. My question about the change was taken as a challenge and I was given a less than professional answer. The staff there not all but a few really need to check their ego at the door. Everyone that enters the doors of Sharp is promised the "SHARP EXPERIENCE"..I didn't receive the sharp experience that day and lost trust in my treatment team. I had to leave because I feared for my health and safety at that point and then they wanted to make it my fault by saying you're leaving against medical advice. I won't allow someone that's treated me less than respectful to medicate me or give me injections. Don't get me wrong I won't allow this isolated incident to affect my trust in hospitals "although this has done irreparable harm to me"We need hospitals, but we also need these hospitals to be professional.. My cardiologist stopped treating me which I believe that was more the NP than the actual Dr. This was a disaster and it will be straightened out I have faith. One more thing patient relations called me and pretty much tried to justify what happened to me that was insulting the people called PATIENT RELATIONS should be called PATIENT SHAMING.. It's truly sad that some people take the Hippocratic oath literally and become just that..I know when that hospital was founded that wasn't the vision of the hospital too bad visions can't be shared by all involved... I'm giving 3 stars because corporate took time to listen to me and didn't talk over me like the hospital staff did..I have another surgery scheduled on Mar. 2,2002 we'll see how that goes..

I recently spent three days at Sharp Memorial for a bad burn to my finger. From the moment I arrived in the ER to the time I left days later I was treated with respect and care by all members of the staff. Without exception everyone was wonderful. Each had their own style and personality but all had professionalism and compassion in all they did. Amazing experience.

I was transfered from Palomar ER to Sharp Memorial with an appendicitis. The entire team at Sharp were professional, kind and very helpful. I do have one recommendation that is to have a specialist that installs the IV on at night time.

The physicians here are terrific however the wait times can be brutal. 2 hours to get a room, an hour to be seen, 2 hours to get results, then another hour before I got discharged. Not sure if this is how all emergency rooms function but it was slow.

Thief in the hospital: Someone there has sticky fingers so make sure you keep your values with you at all times or give it to a family member. Always check twice where it's going. My mother had to go to the hospital for surgery and of course they took her value away and documented. But somehow when she was transferred to a different room her value ended up disappearing. Of course, I call the hospital for their help and they did help out a bit by doing an "investigation". But they didn't find it and that was it. So my mother lucks out on her valuable.
