Great food a bit pricy. Must try the sides of mushrooms and potatoes and the Parker rolls.

I was trying to have a birthday in San Diego that felt like I was in Europe (since I can’t make it over there! $$$). A lunch at Amaya was a perfect addition to my day out! I enjoyed a simple but delicious lunch in the serene cafe with views that could have been in Italy! The waiter was courteous and kind, bringing me a birthday treat after my meal! Afterwards I strolled the property of the Fairmont Grand, and treated myself to some gelato as well.

The Fairmont is absolutely stunning and beautifully quiet . I had the pleasure of dining at Amaya for dinner . I sat outside over looking their beautiful manicured lawns and enjoyed a refreshing non alcoholic drink . I ordered the risotto and fresh bread . The bread …… speechless. I 100% took it back with me to my hotel because I didn’t want to waste anything! The risotto was cooked perfectly and not the least bit gummy. Definitely will be back for another relaxing dinner !

Wonderful breakfast and ambiance with live music and stunning fairytale-like views. Hamid was an excellent and attentive waiter.

We were so surprisingly disappointed with this restaurant. The kids food was better than the adults and sadly that wasn’t great either. Not a 5star restaurant by any means. We had the halibut which was bland & flavorless, the steak which I questioned if it was even beef; Very salty, looked & tasted like a highly processed slab of mystery meat. No I would not recommend this restaurant until some drastic changes are made.

Happy Turkey day just had a great family dinner . Was very impressed with the service and the property. The sea bass terrific the lamb shank awesome and the trio dessert was right on. thanks AMAYA STAFF

We recently stayed at the Fairmont on our honeymoon and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of Amaya. Over the course of a few days we were able to try many different dishes (specifically the hollandaise sauce on our eggs Benedict and the short ribs were stand outs- but don’t miss out on the subtle deliciousness of the burrata Caesar salad and rigatoni). Our service was terrific and in fact both my husband and I think that Peter is the best server we have ever had. He was attentive, knowledgeable and kind.

Food was extremely overpriced! Good! But not for the price. I had a 3oz piece of fish for $38 with no sides. Not what I would expect from the maIn hotel restaurant. The high end one, yes, but we were very disappointed.

Stayed at the Fairmont last week and had a dinner with 5 others. Was not impressed with this restaurant at all, especially for the price. After our appetizers we waited roughly 25 minutes for our dinner and no server ever stopped by during the entire time. The table was empty, the glasses were empty. I finally had to get up and find out what was going on. As far as the food goes, on the menu there is a prawn dish, when I asked what it was, I was told it was "rice forward" which is a fancy way of saying, it's a whole lot of rice and one prawn. Just not what I'd expect from a 5 star restaurant. The rest of the food was fine. Nothing memorable.

We tried this place for the first time for mother's day dinner. The service is great. The food was pretty good. Really flavorful and delicious. It's pretty pricey so that's the only reason to reduce the rating by 1 star. Great for special occasion.

We went there for lunch during the weekend. It wasn’t crowded at all. Beautiful area, and that’s all. That’s why 2 stars, otherwise it would be 1. There were 10 of us and everyone, except me, ordered some kind of sandwich. All of them got undercooked French fries. They didn’t say anything to the waiter, because one couple celebrated an annniversary and we didn’t want to spoil it. I ordered fusilli and it was disgusting. No flavor whatsoever, just bunch of plain pasta with tiny bit of veggies and little olive oil. I hoped that salt and pepper will improve it, but it didn’t. Few ordered soup and it was OK, nothing special, but bread came few minutes later after half of our soup was eaten. Bread should have been served first. Some ordered coffee and deserts. Nobody brought us any utensils for deserts, so the ones who ordered coffee could use teaspoons to eat the desert. Bad experience, high prices and very mediocre food. Menu mainly consists of dough, I mean sandwiches and pasta. Carbs, carbs, carbs. Too bad, because the restaurant is located quite nicely. Don’t think we will come back due to very uninteresting menu, bad cooking and so, so service.

This is an awesome 5 Star resort. The staff is fabulous and the resort is so beautiful. Highly recommended.

My food was great, the staff was friendly but the wait was a bit long. This may be because we were part of a group and arrived right before everyone else had gotten their food.

Very nice setting and nice property. I kind of expected more from the food. Our server was really good, kind, and knew his wine but for fine dining the food was just ok. I guess I was just expecting some GRAND dishes that we're unfortunately just meh.

The service is bad. We have to wait for almost 10 minutes before the server come and address us. Very unresponsive. The entire staff from hostess to bus staff to server are all arrogant and un-attentive The halibut is extremely fishy and is not fresh. The atmosphere is not worth the price for bad food and bad service.

Best plant based/vegan dish ever. Wasn't on the menu at the time but a couple years ago I ordered it and still think about it. Just getting around to reviewing after reading about Addison's getting high awards. Now I will have to try their vegan option and compare.

1st timers, Sunday 5pm dinner, NO ONE there, maybe 1 more table by 7pm leaving. More staff than customers. Food quality & service were both excellent but the WAY oversauced Pork Chop & way oversauced & WAY overpriced Snap Peas side-order (was that butter or a swimming pool of butter & other animal fat all over my HEALTHY peas rendering then unhealthy & UNEATABLE?) were absurd. Less is more guys. Is this a Fairmont or KFC ? Lovely but nearly empty property & buildings.

Food was disappointing for such a prestigious hotel, recieving cold plates and flavorless aguachile is unacceptable. Very limited menu with low quality ingredients, someone needs to hire a real chef for this location.

Food was awful! I can usually find goodness in all food, but the appetizer of clams to the main course of halibut which tasted poached and undercooked slime I had to push it all away. That’s hard to do when you pay that much money. Ordered room service of fries when I got back to my room.

Food and service wise this place is great. Tall handsome waiters with accents who are pros at what they do. Chefs that I imagine bending over every plate to get the details right. But $41 for a basic breakfast makes it a bit crazy. If prices don’t matter to you, then enjoy this place, it is great.

Stayed at the hotel so ate here twice. Dinner service was A+, but the food not so much. $60 filet was decent but not worth it. Bland. Mashed potatoes were the consistency of grits and had no seasoning. Salt shaker necessary. Shrimp pasta was not good at all with it tasting straight out of the sea. Breakfast was much better but service and wait for food was terrible. Better places to eat in the area.

Beautiful restaurant in an exquisite resort. Service was outstanding as was the food. Although the entree I ordered was not prepared to my request, but the server corrected it immediately and a second entree was brought out as I had requested. I have been here many times before and have enjoyed every visit.

We go here for a day before mother's day every year and they service is amazing along with the food. Always treated well and leave happy.

I only had breakfast here, and I liked it a lot. They use very high quality ingredients, and everything is cooked perfectly. Maybe it's just me, and I was unlucky, but, at most hotels Eggs Benedicts were always overcooked; however, at Amaya they were perfect. Two thumbs up!!

Very disappointing! Over $500 for four people (1 $80 bottle of wine and two cocktails). Took my two adult boys for a Christmas dinner with my wife. The Grand was beautiful but the service at Amaya was initially slow, their New York Strip was no better than a decent pub steak (but $57) and I asked for medium and got medium rare. Won't eat here again.
