The coaches are great! The front desk just trying to make you pay for random fees, I owed them 120 for one month but when I went there to pay, she said I owed almost 500 and doesn’t have a reason for it and said it is what is. They bring up random fees that they never told uou about. She also threatened me that if I don’t pay for their scam they would mess up my credit! Be aware

Coaches are great but the staff are trying to make money off you and bring up random fees. So basically choose another boxing gym since this gym is a total scam.

Great boxing gym with good coaches and staff. Highly recommended! There was a good coach who left recently and I’m pretty bummed out. His classes were always full. I hope the new coach will be as good. P.s: I heard they’re increasing the gym membership fees starting next year…. It’s already pricey now, can’t imagine paying even more to keep going here.

AO8 had a few bee situations over the past couple years. I saved the bees and relocated them on 2 separate occasions, and did so with them already owing my little bee rescue company money from the year before for preventing bees from moving into the gym. Apparently management can sign for an invoice, but they can't pay.... ??? It's been a dozen calls and multiple emails, along with attempting to track down the mysterious owner, but with 0 results. They dodge, dip, duck, dive and dodge.... oh, and ghost us. Pretty pathetic, Art of Eight.

I have been coming to this gym for several years now, back to when it was Art of Eight. Once it became part of TBC family, the level of service and commitment to the members has been amazing. This gym is always super clean and the upgrades to the facility since new ownership took over has been great. The workouts never disappoint, it’s never the same routine. I got tired of just lifting weights and boxing has been a great way to get into shape/relieve stress. The staff is amazing and parking is never an issue. Highly recommend this gym

I’m the type of person who needs a class with a motivating coach to enjoy exercise and that’s exactly what I have found through the boxing club! I got my membership a month or two ago and have been coming a few times a week ever since. I’m so motivated by the environment and people here. The coaches are great and the staff are super friendly and personable - heck, even Derek (the guy at the front desk) remembers my name! I started coming to the boxing club after years of no physical activity and have found nothing but support and encouragement here. I’m an overweight person, and I can’t do as much as the people who have been working on themselves for years, but that doesn’t mean I’m treated any different. The coaches help me perfect my form, answer any questions, and push me to do my best (at my own pace of course). And when I’m struggling, I almost always get encouragement from the OTHER MEMBERS in the class. I have never once felt judged or like I didn’t belong here - and that’s been a huge part of what’s been keeping me coming back. If you’re like me and looking for a fun way to get yourself moving, I recommend checking this place out. It’s a great place to exercise (I enjoy kickboxing and grit with Cali and Jodi!) and stay motivated, and I guarantee you’ll be welcomed by everyone - from the front desk to the coach to the person you meet in the locker room. Note: the sweaty selfie is in the women’s bathroom/locker room. It’s almost always empty, there’s plenty of lockers available, and it’s always spotless. Pandemic note: all classes are currently held outdoors and the bags are socially distanced. Weights, mats, and other equipment are sanitized after each use. Members wear a mask until they get to their designated exercise space, but staff and coaches always wear a mask. 10/10 recommend! They even have cute swag! :)

I can't say enough good things about this gym. The staff is super friendly, the instruction is top notch, the workouts are intense, and the facility is great. The only negative thing I have found is that the locker room is a little dirty. I did a month trial and will be signing up for a full year.

Been rocking with BXNG CLUB Kearny Mesa for 3 years now and I never get tired or bored of this place. The facility is always clean and neat. The management team is always so welcoming and the coaches are motivating. I enjoy the family environment that we have here at Kearny Mesa. I never once felt out of place. I love the diversity we have here, fighters come in all different shapes and sizes. Coach Danny has definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me achieve goals that I never thought was possible for myself. Thank you BXNG CLUB you have truly helped me not only stay physically fit but also mentally fit. My time here in San Diego is coming to a close end and I’m going to miss this place the most!

Kearny Mesa BXNG CLUB has an amazing facility with even better staff. The gym culture here is very inviting. Everyone is welcome. Classes are intuitive but challenging for all experience ranges. There are constant events to attend or participate in. You can choose to dip your toes into various programs or commit to see how far you can evolve inside the world of boxing and Muay Thai, either way you’re going to enjoy the process while getting your moneys worth. I know this sounds like they paid for this review, and to be honest they really should have paid me for this because it’s the best review to date, but in all reality every word you’re reading right now is coming from a long time goer of this gym. I challenge you to come by and not enjoy yourself. P.S. Every coach at the gym is amazing, but a special shout out goes to coach Cali. He’s a major driving force in the gym and makes a big portion of the heart and energy of the gym culture here.

The best boxing gym in San Diego hands down. Nothing but a family vibe every time I come around (4-6 days a week). The classes are super challenging but so fun and exciting EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have been going to this gym for months and never had an exact same class. Derrick and Taylor always greet you like they Havnt saw you in ages, it’s to die for. The coaches are mostly Muay Thai fighters and or Boxers and you leave wet every time! Cali, Mario, Yasmeen, Danny, Jodi, Chano And Noel are so helpful, informative and badass. The whole squad is solid to be straight! All great at different things that make a great boxer. My favs are Powerboxing, grit and burn at this location. You have to check it out! 🥊🥊🏋🏽‍♀️

My wife and I have been going here for almost three years now and we love it. We started with the fitness classes which are similar to a cross fit class and is a great workout, then tried Muay Thai and loved it, the coaches are awesome and we stuck with that for 2 years. Now they have one of the best Ju Jitsu coaches and we’ve been doing that for about a year. Whatever your fitness goals are this place will help you get there and teach you self defense! All the staff and coaches are great and very helpful, thank you guys! 🤙

A class at the Bxng Club is easily the best workout I’ve ever come across. And this location is great… the front desk is super friendly and inviting. Kelsey (k killa) and Sara always greet me with a smile and conversation when I walk in. And the coaches are dope too… Coach Cali’s class always goes hard. 100% recommended to get you in shape!

An amazing gym with awesome staff. I trained there for 2 months while on work and the entire staff treated me like family from the beginning. The trainers are very knowledgable and are committed to your goals as well as teaching. If you get to visit see my guy Cali for strength training and Muay Thai and hit the yoga class on Saturday. They don't disappoint.

This Boxing Club location has a great vibe, excellent and professional staff, plenty of classes to choose from and personal training options to choose from whether your looking to loose weight and get in shape with high intensity training, or one of the many combat sports you can choose to train in. They also have a decent amount of weight lifting equipment to choose from. I have been a member of The Boxing Club for 7 years and have always recommended any one of their locations and always will.

Art of Eight is a very clean and well appointed gym to train. Went in to learn more about them and was greeted with a well informed staff who showed me around and made me feel at home. Check them out.

By far the Art of Eight is the best gym I have ever worked out at. There are always classes available from early morning(630am), until the evening(730pm). I lost 20 lbs with two months of doing there classes, and the workouts are very challenging but actually fun at the same time. All the trainers there are very knowledgeable and they always bring something new and challenging to the table, so you'll new do the same routine twice. Honestly I would highly recommend this gym to any family member or a close friend who wants to be part of a good gym with very friendly atmosphere that will assist them in reaching his or her fitness goals.

I've been coming to this gym for about 2 years now. They have a good range of classes for everyone, whether you're just starting out or if you want to compete in amateur/pro fights. I like that the instructors are active pro fighters. There is a very friendly and fun ambiance at this gym.

I got into Boxing/Kickboxing about 4 years ago and was so disappointed when my gym closed it's doors. I looked at several other options but nothing seemed to feel right. I found A08 on Groupon and when I realized that I knew some of the trainers from my former gym, I was pretty confident that this would be the right place. I was sold the minute I walked in the door. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Knowledgeable, skilled, top-notch trainers. Encouraging, supportive members. And consistently the best workout you'll ever have and you'll have fun doing it! I absolutely love this place. It's my home away from home and we are all one big family. One visit and you will be hooked.

It’s my favorite boxing club of the many they have. it’s smaller then the rest but you never have to pay for parking or spend endless amounts of time searching for an open spot. The staff and desk crew are friendly and accommodating, the gym and bathrooms are always pretty clean. Muay Thai program is really good. It’s a tight nit group of coaches and students that all know each-other and their styles. Students and coaches do a really good of managing people’s intensities during sparring. I did my 10 privates with coach Calì, he does a great job of asking students what their goals are and what is realistic for them. I really recommend Calì for someone who is getting ready for a fight, you’ll get tons of rounds and be absolutely smoked by the end of your private with him but it’s so beneficial If you’re prepping for a smoker or amateur fight. If you’re new to sparring he’s also great to book, does a really solid job and dialing up the intensity and dialing it down when you need it. 10/10 would recommend the gym and privates with Calì, will be back. Se habla español….

BXNG Club is the best!!! I lost 20lbs coming every day and running on my own in about two months. Kelsey, Christian, Arthur, Meredith, and Alyssa always make me feel welcome when I walk through the door. It is a very friendly and open environment. The coaches are very patient and knowledgeable in their respective crafts. Highly recommend. 10/10

So many great things to say I don't know where to start! I started coming here around the first of September, after not working out for a year and a half prior and zero boxing/kickboxing/muay thai experience - I have been coming every day since I started. The staff and the coaches are phenomenal. They have a way of motivating you without being demeaning, it's a fun environment that makes you want to push yourself. On top of everything, you really see a variety of people coming here, old, young adults, persons with disabilities - all walks of life and experience. Everyone is friendly, has a great attitude and is always willing to help. The workouts are amazing, well kept facility and I look forward to going to class every day. Highly recommend the BXNG club Kearny Mesa!

Art of Eight is more than just a gym, it has a real family atmosphere. The trainers are not only skilled and talented but they are approachable and genuinely care about the training they offer and the technique that is being taught. There is something to be said when you are receiving training from world champions! The class schedule is flexible and not only has times throughout the day but also a variety of classes and different fight styles to take. I cancelled my other gym memberships because there was no longer a need to have them. Aside from changing my body and giving me more self confidence, because I know I could defend myself, I have made amazing friends. I can't imagine ever leaving

A08 has an amazing atmosphere and the coaches, owners, and members are all welcoming and treat you like family. In their Muay Thai classes they make sure you are ready to "move up" to the next (skill) level (class). They focus on the fundamentals and proper technique.

I've been doing kickboxing/Muay Thai for a long time and this is the best gym experience I have ever had. The trainers are experienced and friendly, the facility is clean and well equipped. The people who go there are also welcoming and encouraging. It's a family atmosphere that won't spare you if you want to train hard or just get a seriously awesome workout.

Great atmosphere, trainers and concierge are extremely helpful and approachable. This gym has everything you need in order to get a great workout in whether it's cardio, weight training, boxing/kickboxing classes or actual Muay Thai classes. I love it here. This facility has indoor and outdoor workout areas.

One of the best decisions I've made is joining this club; I call it my happy place. The cleanliness of this place was the deciding factor between this one and another boxing gym near where I live. Great classes, trainers, and front desk staff. I signed up for private training with Mario, and it's been great!! He is an incredible trainer who pushes you physically and mentally. Thank you, Mario. Forever grateful for you.

I’m down over 35lbs since I started here in early April. The classes are killer, the instructors are amazing and there is no ego here. Just cool, supportive folks and awesome instruction. If you’re looking to change your life for the better, it’s all about the BXNG club Kearney Mesa.

Fun and always clean. There's never a time that I see weights not racked, or a staff member not cleaning. Plus the classes are intense and a blast. All the coaches are awesome.

I can’t say enough great things about this gym. The classes are super informative and challenging at the same time. I go 5 days a week, and all of the staff is wonderful! Shout out to Derrick who has been nothing but welcoming and kind to every member especially to my friend that I bring along when I can. Can’t recommend this place enough, you have to give it a try! 🥊

This place is unreal. I've been here on a six month internship taking boxing classes. All of the coaches are great. I highly recommend this place. I've mostly worked with Giovani Santillan. He's a great guy and an even better instructor. Thanks AO8!

Great crew here! I'm visiting as a guest in San Diego for 10 days and I'm on my way to my third class there. Very welcoming with phenomenal fitness and instructional boxing and Muay Thai classes for varying skill levels. Highly recommend Ao8!

Best Boxing Gym around! All of the teachers are really helpful and have really helped me to learn good technique and form. I did break my toe the first kickboxing class I had because I just jumped into it before asking them got help, so I would suggest you ask for help and start slow before you go full power. Rueben, yasmeen, and Mario y’all are the best!

Started training here near the start of 2013. AO8 has a phenomenal group of coaches, trainers and staff members. Coach Mel's philosophy on training is the perfect combination of competition, fitness and respect (both for the art and those you train with). I've been training on the muay thai side and the strength and experience of the coaching staff is second to none. Being able to train under current champion Mike Lemaire is inspiring and each session is an awesome workout. I've got nothing but incredible things to say about each and every coach I've trained with there.

AO8 is the best gym in San Diego! The staff is so helpful and welcoming, it is truly a family atmosphere at AO8. I have been a member here for over a year and it has become a second home to me. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and whether you're just starting or have some experience they cater to everyone's abilities. Check the attitude at the door though, there is ALWAYS someone more experienced here at AO8 and ain't nobody got time for attitudes! We train like family and have respect for all our members regardless of their experience. Chuy keeps the gym immaculate and sanitized, honestly one of the cleanest gyms I have ever seen. The fitness and instructional classes are top notch taught by extremely accomplished athletes and world champion fighters so there isn't a better place around to get in the best shape of your life or learn a new skill! AO8 is the BEST!!!!

I've tried a few different gyms in San Diego and I have to say Art of Eight is by far the best! Not only are the instructors and staff knowledge and friendly but they are encouraging and really take the time to invest in your overall fitness goals. I have been going to AO8 for about 9 months now and I love my results. They offer a variety of class all throughout the day and evening and even on the weekends. I highly recommend trying this place if you are looking for a new gym or just trying to change up your routine. You will not only LOVE it, you will become family!!!!

Love the coaches and people, hate the management! Why is management keep switching schedule on good coaches?? They can't seem to retain good coaches. It's pretty simple, if the classes are full, keep it as is and not try to reinvent the wheel. Retain good people should be your priority.

I love the boxing and kickboxing classes at the Bxng Club! They are a killer workout and a lot of fun. Each coach has a different style, but all offer helpful feedback, adjustments, and great energy. I always leave Coach Cali and Coach Danny's classes with a smile and a huge sense of accomplishment. They work you hard, and the hour flies by! While I've felt myself get stronger over time, each class is still a challenge. I always look forward to coming back, pushing myself, and improving on my technique.
