Decent deli. They do have some Jewish dishes but most are standard fare. Pro quiet in the morning and service is good. They also have a large ball room that can be rented

If you haven't tried this place, go now! I tried the cabbage rolls because haven't had them since I was young when my mom made them. I had the garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables with them. The food was awesome! They make their bread and desserts. Delicious food and the tea actually tasted like tea and not colored water. They also have outside seating.

This place is huge. Must remember for group venue option. Get the pastrami rueben, the best! I hear the breakfast menu is really good too. The service was great, atmosphere nice and open. Btw both the potato salad and pineapple slaw are amazing. Just go!

Elijah’s Deli located at 7061 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92111 is a very good Deli food wise, my breakfast was great! I had their Matzoh Brie and it was very solid. Onion rings were very good too. Decor wise it is extremely cold looking, not deli like whatsoever. Wouldn’t have even known I was in a deli except for the menu items. Nothing remotely Jewish looking about this place whatsoever, except again the menu does have the typical NY Deli items on it. Server Lara was great! I’ll need to try their Pastrami next time as it looks very good.

I had the tastiest Pastrami Reuben Sandwich here today. I loved that the high-quality pastrami was on the lean side and had great flavor, perhaps a little light on the black pepper but that's OK. Quite 'messy' so I used a knife and fork. The rye bread was buttery and crunchy too. Will definitely return here again for this treat. It wasn't a deal breaker but the cole slaw was absolutely flavorless (except for cabbage flavor) but it also wasn't sweet which is a good thing. I also could have chosen potato salad or pasta salad as a side. The staff was very professional and courteous. I found all the right Covid-19 protocols in place. There is indoor and outdoor dining available now. They're keeping their pastries in the kitchen now with just a small display out front so you can see what they have. I tried a couple tiny Prune Hamantaschen. These didn't have much flavor compared with the ones I've enjoyed in New York. I'll probably try something else next time but the five stars is for the sandwich, reasonable prices and the staff.

Excellent duck salad, steak sandwich, half chicken, and crispy fries. Friendly service. Update: Got the Liver and Onions, Brisket, Eggs Benedict, and the French Dip plates. All very very tasty. The prices are a bit high compared to competitors larger portions.

Good, but not great. Quite expensive for what you get. $12 for a regular size sandwich and about 1/4 cup of potato salad. The taste of the sandwich was comparable to something you could buy from a grocery store, for a lot less money. How could this be improved you might ask? How about adding some type of condiment (not taking about the package of mustard or Mayo given with the sandwich, I’m taking about making it your own!), taking the time to shred the lettuce or even shave the turkey breast. Or how about possibly adding some cheese to this overpriced sandwich? I could have made this myself at home in 2-3 minutes. The ‘size’ of the sandwich appears rather large, but that’s because they rolled a single piece of lettuce up with a few slices of turkey breast giving it the appearance of a lot of food, when really it’s just about five pieces of inexpensive cold cut turkey breast, a piece of lettuce, tomato slices and a slice of red onion.

Only tried 2 food items so I'll have to revisit a few more times and try out various items on their menu. Excellent service. There's plenty of parking and the restaurant has a nice environment with plenty of space. There's an another separated room where I believe you can hold say a party or a banquet or the like. Nice options!

Terrible food and atmosphere. They put all the meat from the sandwiches in the front so it looks over stuffed but it's just bread around the edges. Sad to see a place like this prey on old people. Seats are hard and wood grain linoleum and "live laugh love" decor won't fool me. I'd say nice try,but clearly no effort goes into anything around here. I had to walk into the kitchen to finally find the waitress to pay. I bet the cooks have never even been to NY. Enjoy eating pineapple in your coleslaw.....jk its nasty too.

Birthday brunch date! The deli sandwiches we’re great! My husband ordered “the Statue of Liberty” & I ordered the “hot pastrami” both were yummy! They’re Rye bread they make for the sandwiches tasted fresh & Soft ,the meat is tender and juicy. The sides that come with sandwiches I would say are bland ,but you don’t mind it too much cause the sandwiches have a good amount of sodium. Of course they serve the sandwiches with a side pickle spear which is always nice. We also shared a stack of pancakes, they were good. Nice and fluffy and had a small crust on the edge of the flapjacks. I forgot what my niece ordered, her BF ordered the Belgian waffle and loved it! He said that was absolutely delicious. I believe he just got it plain (no toppings or fruit.) Now for drinks my nice ordered a root bear float, she liked it (standard float.) My husband ordered us the “New York Egg Cream,” no one else at the table liked it, I will say I think it’s an acquired taste. My husband described it as a carbonated chocolate Yoo-hoo. So take from that what you may. Me personally I liked the drink. Our servers were kind and did a great job of customer service. Asking if we would like refills , coming by to see how everything was going and if we needed anything else.

Wonderful lovely service from the second my group and I entered. Fresh, delicious meals that make you look forward to coming back before you finish your plate! I ordered the Reuben omelette with egg whites and home fries and highly recommend!!

The food tasted great but nothing too special that makes it stand out from other breakfast restaurants. The service by the waiters and waitresses were good and friendly as well as the atmosphere. You are able to dine outside with your dog. I suggest going to Elijah's around the evening since they offer more meals and drinks for dinner and at the bar.

The veggie reuben was INCREDIBLE! So unique. The matzo was classic and delicious. My husband got the hot corned beef and he thought it was some of the best he ever had, they make it in house. Overall great experience and we’ll definitely be back!

This place is awesome. The food is delicious. You have to try the Carne Asada Benedict. Eggs are perfectly light and the carne asada is super tasty. The challah french toast is also super yummy.

1st time having it was through DoorDash. Was stuck at work and wanted something not heavy or loaded dwn with grease. Got a basic tuna melt, but it was amazing. So good infact, that I went bck the same weekend to take my wife. She loves a good tuna melt and there a few places that do it right. I've also tried there hash bowl, which is also delicious. The portions are plentiful and the prices are very fair considering the quality. Looking forward to trying there Kinish🤤

The chef needs to be cloned. Wowzers…I went on a limb and thought Mexican omelette how good could it be at a deli type restaurant? The chorizo pepper and potatoes ratio was down right perfect. Great way to start my day for sure. Not a big fan of the salsa that came with it. My opinion is that it would’ve ruined the kick from the chorizo and avocado sauce. Not gonna lie, I ordered a second on just to make sure it wasn’t a lucky batch. If you’re ever in the area try the Mexican Omelette and let me know your thoughts.

We just got conned. Got lucky enough to have Duty onboard the ship Thanksgiving Day. Was told, “don’t worry about food we are catering.” We are rationing out this tiny meal as I type this. It’s pathetic that they offer a thanksgiving meal for us to rely on and make sure we go hungry the rest of the day. Don’t do catering from these sleazy people. Food ain’t any good and it’s not much food. Please avoid this place. Posted pics below. That’s suppose to be for 25 people.

Highly recommend. Plenty of seating, a relaxed atmosphere, friendly and attentive servers, and THE FOOD. The corned beef Reuben was legit, and I could eat those onion rings for days. Also, the coffee was decent☺️

Oh my!! Such a lovely safe-haven for the best Jewish comfort food in San Diego! I have been on travel from DC and needed a little piece of home to warm my soul; thank you. Everyone try the best Falafel Sandwich around!

I had filet mignon and eggs. It came with a choice of sides and toast. The filet was tender and cooked to order but the cost was only $17.50. One of my sons also had the filet and the rest of the family had typical breakfast items——all good.

I used to work in the area and visited the nearby establishments but am sad I never knew about Elijah's. Very delicious. I looked at the menu and any of it would do, but had the Reuben sammich. I didn't drink here but they have a decent selection of beer and wine. Definitely would definitely come back here!

My son is recovering from an infection in his foot. He was not able to attend thanksgiving dinner because of his restrictions. When I called they told me that they didn’t have a delivery service but because of the circumstances they would deliver thanksgiving dinner to my son. They did as promised snd my son enjoyed thanksgiving dinner. Thank you so much your food was great and service was amazing!

I have been frequenting Elijah's Deli back when it was called Samson's Deli, had small pickle barrels on the table and was located in the LA Jolla Village Square. I can tell you the food quality and taste has stayed the same since then. Excellent. I had the create your own omelet and it was fantastic. Light, fluffy eggs with Ham, mushrooms and cheese melted over the top. The home fries were nicely seasoned and paired well. My guest had Two eggs, two bacon and two fluffy and delicious pancakes for their order to which they added on a side of fruit. Fruit was crisp and flavorful (strawberries, honeydew, cantalope, grapes). Hands down one of the best breakfast meals i have jad around town. I have also had the pastrami and other sandwiches, with the bread baked daily from the Bakery side it is always soft and fresh. The setting is clean and welcoming. They serve a lot of New York style Deli favorites with a plethora of sandwiches and soups along with Breakfast options all day and hearty homestyle dinner options. A nice selection of beers and wines can also be found. If you want to eat like you were grabbing food at your favorite corner deli in New York, you would be hard-pressed for better food and service.

Our local union had a meeting there and served your typical Americana style breakfast. The food was tasty and plentiful. The bacon was crisp, home fries were good, pancakes were fluffy, etc. All around good food, worth trying.

Home made corned beef? Deliciously well pressed Reuben with a perfectly toasted rye bread?? YES! Loved it. My wife had the veggie Reuben and she absolutely loved it as well. Our server was very attentive and cute. Will definitely go back!!

Food not ready on time for pickup. Sandwiches were small and sides were small. Left soda out of order. Glad I checked before I left. This place is nowhere as good as DZ Akins. Waste of time and money.

I love Elijah's and have since their original restaurant in LaJolla. The Ruben pastrami is absolutely the best ever!

Went in on Sunday as a group of 3 we were seated immediately. Waitress was nice, yet seemed smug with us since we were the only people of color there. Everyone else was older and white. Regardless for the price if the food I would have expected it to taste better. Order an omlette that was too bland for my taste, and the silverware was dirty. I don't mean spots I mean literal food chunks in wedges of the fork. Had to sneak a plastic one that was wrapped for togo orders. Won't be coming again.
