😠 DO. NOT. GO. THERE! First, they say they don’t have wine menu, and tried to impose us a 60€ bottle of wine. “How much can you pay for it if you don’t want to pay the 60€?”, they asked us… Secondly, although we were speaking Spanish, we were given the English menu. When asked to see the Spanish men... People often mention menu, prices, wine, restaurant, asked, Spanish, good, expensive, nice, service,

DO. NOT. GO. THERE! First, they say they don’t have wine menu, and tried to impose us a 60€ bottle of wine. “How much can you pay for it if you don’t want to pay the 60€?”, they asked us… Secondly, although we were speaking Spanish, we were given the English menu. When asked to see the Spanish menu, they claimed they didn’t have one. Funny enough, we ended up finding a Spanish menu on a table nearby and the price was 200 DOP cheaper per plate. When we asked about why did they lie and why they were dishonest about the prices, they said that the Spanish menu is for regular customers. It's a tourist trap!! Don't go there! The food was just ok - also said they didn't have shrimp and tried to sell us the expensive alternative (lobster...)!

Do not recommend! Ordered a “linguini con langostinos a la crema” that was basically spaghetti with cream. Had no linguini, no truffle oil, no shrimp or caramelised onion. Drinks are stupidly expensive (60euro p/bottle wine and 5euro beer). If you’re not “special” (words of the waiter), you’re not entitled to have the Spanish menu, which incidentally is 100-200 DOP cheaper than the English menu. He lied to us, saying “there is no Spanish menu” but funny enough, we found one soon after with cheaper prices. You can find better restaurants around with cheaper and better food and they will not lie or try to deceive you.

DO NOT GO HERE if you are a tourist and don't want to be ripped off. We ate here April 4th 2022, at the suggestion of the concierge at our hotel. Restaurant is very pretty, location on town square is cool, food is good. HOWEVER..... they claimed not to have a wine list and just showed us the bottles available - no prices. Nearly everything we wanted on the menu was not available - but substitutes were available (again no prices communicated and we didn't think to ask). When the bill came it was equivalent to over $300 for 2 people - wine was at least double what we would have paid in a 5 star hotel, the replacement ceviche was 3000 pesos - 3 times the price of the ceviche that was "unavailable", and the fish I ordered was quoted at 1090 pesos but charged 1900. I'd say we were ripped off to the tune of $150. Reading the other reviews this sharp practice looks like standard for this place for tourists - most of the good reviews of this place are by locals - who apparently have a separate menu with local prices and presumably are not ripped off. I do not recommend this place - unless you want to ask and write down every item's price and confirm it as you go. Beware.

One of my best Victorina restaurants. This restaurant is so chic , nice and has so tasty food. I well recommend this restaurant downtown Puerto Plata. The most convenient part is that if you are doing some sightseeing everything is walking distance from the restaurant. The have inside tables with AC and tables by the porch and walk side. The view from outside is very good and you have the Cathedral and the Central Park.

If you are a tourist, please stay away from this place. They tried to rip us off, and spent all night trying to sell things we did not order. The dishes we asked for were not available, but more expensive replacements were, we asked for wine menu and there was none and tried to sell us a bottle of wine for 60 euros. We found out through the reviews that there was a menu only for tourists, and even though we were speaking spanish that was the menu they brought - we then asked for the spanish menu which they said didn't exist. It took us 3 min to get to a table with locals and ask to see the menu - it was indeed in spanish and the prices were much lower. It is really a pity that they have no respect for customers, the place is really nice and the food is ok, if they would just make the most of tourists, instead of trying to take advantage of them, it would be much much better.

It's a tourist trap, so better not to go there. We were group of 9 ppl and none of us speaking Spanish so they gave us English menu. By accident one of us got Spanish menu with different prices (in usd prices were higher from 10% to 25%). We informed them that we are going to order food from the menu in Spanish and we want to pay in DOP. After our lunch they gave us a bill but in USD using the prices from the English menu. We asked them to change the currency as we wanted to pay in dominican peso. So they used prices from English menu (just to remind you, that were higher!) and they cheated us on the exchange rate so some of dishes were even 40% more expensive comparing to spanish menu! They claimed that prices in USD are higher because for tourist they have special quality of food. I forgot to mention that during our lunch they served us vegetables, salads, etc. We ate them as we thought that those side dishes were included in dishes price. When they gave us a bill it occured that not... Better avoid this place, horrible experience.

What else can I say about this place besides WOW. Food was excellent. Service was spectacular. They had a wine tasting event when I was there, so don’t get intimidated if you arrive for dinner and hear the wine tasting event running. I plan on coming again.

The service of the staff was friendly and professional. The food was great quality and quantity. The presentation of all the meals was well done and looked appetizing. The prices are reasonable. I had my daughter and her husband wedding dinner at this restaurant and it was a 3 course meal. Excellent atmosphere and the manager provided just exactly what we needed. Great variety of foods. Well done! Thank you to the manager and the staffs

This is a nice restaurant located in a historic Victorian house that is more than 150 year old and very well preserved. The food is excellent and at the level of a foodie style. Service is superb.

Outstanding service from Victor and De La Rosa I have been two times and the food always on point. Try the “Maduritos Mozzarella” absolutely delicious. I also love the Caesar salad with grilled shrimps. This venue it’s located in front of the Central Park in downtown Puerto Plata, and the drinks options and wine menu is affordable too Well recommended!

This place looks very nice from the inside but the experience was just horrible. 1. They told us they would bring us bread out three times and we were never served bread. 2. We ordered a lemonade and it took 30 minutes(I am not exaggerating) for the lemonade to come out. 3. We were missing items and were told to share between each other. 4. We asked for coke and didn’t get them but were still charged for them. 5. The owner was there just sitting down while all this was going on. 6. We asked for appetizers and they came out more than an hour later. 7. They did not serve us water until after we ate our meal. Just a terrible experience. The food was okay, but I would rather pay for good food and an amazing experience. Also, this place is very expensive for no reason. Do not go. Trust me :)

I went back. The food is really good. The pasta and shrimp is just perfect. The taste is amazing. I wanted the Cangrejo, crabs, again because I was thinking about since last year.

Excellent. Decided to stop and walk around square on my way to another highly rated trip advisor restaurant. So glad I did. Every dish was a nock out. Can't finish the rest of my review cause dessert just came.

We didn't want a special restaurant tonight and the wind make us go to that place. A professional team with a great intelligence and kindness. The dishes were excellent (grilled salmon and Caesar salad) I recommand that place!

Overall a bad experience. 1.- Ordered Lobster Tail and a steak. Lobster was cooked and served uncleaned. Lobster Head was included as decoration besides the unclean tail, the Ribeye was cut on half inch stripes burnt over the four sides (ordered medium). 2.- Ordered a “mushroom” risotto. Was over cooked, had lots of clumps and had 5 times more truffles than mushroom (3 pieces of some mushroom had in it). Risotto was cooked with long grain rice as well. 3.- Ordered two drinks, were supposed to be served on a high glass and a low, both came in a wine glass with straws, one was watery the other beyond bitter. 4.- Indoor seating had music so loud that speaking was not possible, ended up seating outside not realizing they allow smokers to seat right next to the table. And not realizing either that the “vintage table” wouldn’t allow for the feet to go under the table. Compared to 4 other local restaurants it is way too expensive, for the same price that two people ate at this place, a party of 6 and a child was able to eat better food for same price. Other things too could be highlighted but are unnecessary. Servers were nice at least that I have to give.

Great spot at the top of the hill and had amazing food. Service was a little slow and they did put nuts in something we said we were allergic to and the power went out while we were there but overall the food was phenomenal.

Food is very average. Their eggplant dip was one of the best things. Cocktails are good, but expensive as it’s in the tourist place. I ordered risotto and ended up regretting it. I do not think it was worth a $70 meal for two people. I will not be going back here.

The place is absolutely marvelous. The food is amazingly good and great presentation. The hosts are extraordinary and the ambience is fantastic. They even have live piano performance. A place for a romantic dinner, a social meeting or family gathering. It really has it all.
