The staff were so nice, and the food was inventive but authentic at the same time. I would 100% go back here again. It was a true joy to have the privilege of eating at this restaurant. Everything was absolutely delicious. Artisan Beer and Mezcal was superb. Service was incredibly attentive. Unfortunately, I was unable to leave a tip given that they do not accept tips on credit cards. Make sure you bring enough cash to tip on the spot

It’s a hidden gem in Mexico City. I came across this restaurant in passing while browsing for restaurants on Google maps. The staff was very courteous, they explained all the items on the menu. There are several vegetarian dishes and they have an option for a vegan 3 course menu as well. Food was exquisite in taste as well as beautifully presented. Every mouthful was bursting with flavors. We also got to know that all the staff at the restaurant are students and the restaurant is in fact a culinary school. It is a quick walk from the zocalo. Would highly recommend checking this place out when in Mexico City. We ordered the vegetarian fried quesadilla, non alcoholic Bloody Mary and pina colada, Milpa soup and the Chile relleno. They also served us an amuse-bouche , complimentary bread with almond butter, and a chocolate in addition to our á la carte meal. The price is extremely reasonable for the amazing food that is served here.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Eduardo Ramos, who took care of our table, was professional and attentive to details. He explained what each dish consisted of and was patient answering my questions given my basic Spanish. He was kind and gave us amazing recommendations for cocktails and food. I recommend this restaurant for both quality, price and service and thank you Eduardo :)

A lovely dining experience. The location is a lovely respite from the chaos and noise of el centro. The students' service and cooking skills are incredible, creating lovely delicious food to enjoy at a relaxed pace in a beautiful seeing. We highly recommend trying Zefiro. Too many people go to about five restaurants when going to CDMX, but the dining scene here is so much more, and Zefiro is clear evidence of that. Enjoy!

Third time here. There'll be a fourth, and many more. Service is Michelin star level. The food is fresh, blending elements of international healthy cuisine with authentic Mexican tastes. Quantities are generous, presentation is faultless, and the prices are very low compared to what you would pay for a similar experience in a flagship gastronomic restaurant. My only suggestion would be to have moles on the side, in a cup, so that people with moderate love for them such as myself could adjust the quantity and favour other flavours instead. Well done team, a great future ahead for all those trainees, that's all I can hope for.

Quite an amazing feast at Zefiro for lunch today. Found via Trip Advisor, the food served was a delectable Mexican dining experience. We ordered tacos for a 1st course expecting small portions out came 2 plates piled with top quality ingredients much like a deconstructed taco. For the main course my wife picked a winner with the grilled capsicum, my dish was also awesome with the ox tongue and cactus. Not expensive when compared to other similar restaurants in Mexico City. And service was outstanding. 5 plus stars.

A different experience. As I understand it, a restaurant is within a college or university where the students under the guidance of a master chef do the cooking. Food was good as well as service. Some genuine plates. The restaurant is in the center of Mexico city. A bit of traffic to get in and out. But once inside, the restaurant and area has a colonial feel to it. Relaxed feeling. Worth a visit. It also has a nice terrace. Price reasonable.

Superb food and hospitality by students of the culinary school! Leonardo was polite, patient and cheerful while we attempted to communicate in broken Spanish, and helped us out with menu choices. The food itself was glorious, beautifully plated and tasted A++. Highly recommended!

What an amazing experience at this restaurant I happened to stumble across while visiting another business in the area. The service was top notch and the food was just incredible. I had Sor Juanna’s Manchamanteles for my main course - a pork shank pie garnished with sweet potato and plantain purées. It was an amazing blend of flavors. Highly recommended. I also had the black pastor tacos for an appetizer and the tarta marquesa for dessert. Both were delicious. The house cocktails are also very good. One of the best restaurants I’ve tried in CDMX. Will definitely be back again.

I had a great experience eating at this restaurant. While it’s in a busy section of the city it felt like a little oasis sitting in their courtyard because of the high walls which drowned out any city noise. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. And the food and cocktail I had were absolutely delicious. I’d highly recommend the beef tongue if you like that cut of meat, it was super tender and flavorful and the sauce that came with it accompanied it very well. Will have to come back to try their other dishes.

Everytime I am in Mexico City, I visit Zefiro. The food is always exciting but never pretentious. Staffed by students, the restaurant makes you feel like you are being helpful while at the same time enjoying a fine meal in a semi casual atmosphere.

Poor experience. Though food and ambience is good; but service and integrity is pathetic. Clumsy school girls serving food. Lack of integrity with bill payment. They insist on charging US$ , if you have a USA credit card, so you loose 5-6 US$ extra over and above, over the actual Mexican peso price - the don’t allow you to pay in pesos. No other local restaurant is doing this malpractice except them. I will not return, for this reason.

The entrance is a bit hidden and you might want to get a reservation just in case. The food is really tasty. They give you freshly baked bread with flavour butter while you wait. The main courses are a good combination of Mexican flavours. I got the chicken and my date the manchamanteles. The desserts are probably the best part. If you have time ask for the chocolate cake that has hot sauce inside. It's one of the b st tasting restaurants, but it does have various course dishes, so it's more pricey than others. The food's price it's still good quality wise.

Had absolutely no idea that most of the people working here were students from the culinary school ! They were super warm and the food was incredible. I try to avoid meat as much as possible. So it was amazing for me to try the pastore taco with fish meat instead and that was just absolutely sumptuous!!! Would highly recommend this place for anyone !!

Truly one if the most unique restaurant experiences I had with my family, EVER. We chanced upon the restaurant and lucky enough to be a walk-in. I initially thought the world class service is something we received since there weren't much crowd around. In the hindsight, we were really shocked to find that al reviews mentioned here point to the excellent service and it was exactly how we were treated. All the very best to Antonio, our waiter, and all other catering college students who run this place!

More than a restaurant, this is an experience in culinary and service excellence. The whole concept is pretty brilliant. It is a “working classroom” the the culinary and restaurant industry mastery. Houses in a beautiful colonial building a block from the Claustro. With outdoor dining and inside a full view of their impeccably clean kitchen. The food and the service was A+ in every way. Each dish is explained by the attentive servers. When I was there the choices if bread were csrmelized onions with rosemary or black bread made from cacao served with butter that had a hint if sage. Followed then with the complimentary appetizer (sorry, no photo and unsure of ingredients but delicious), then a Oaxacan tamale. Main course was deboned beef ribs, steamed and stuffed with seasonal vegetables and topped with a peanut sauce that was delightful. Different layers of flavors. I didn’t think I had room for desert but it was worth trying. An upgraded fudge lava cake with a perfect creamy fudge oozing out, served with vanilla ice cream and an edible rice paper quote by Sor Juana. The “agua fresca” that day was Tangerine/passion fruit. Wait, they may have had others but that’s what I requested and it was great. Highly recommended

Saturday, September 24, I dined here as part of a group event. Here is my opinion of what was served: Monotonous color scheme from crème soup to dessert. Practically no color nor vegetables to brighten the presentation! The soup had chewy chewing gum- like lentils. The pork lomo was dry and tasteless, and was covered with bitter mole that couldn’t save it. Dessert was humdrum and difficult to eat with utensils. Slow service to receive drinks. In summary, would NOT recommend nor return there!

I cannot say enough about our experience here. It was amazing and outstanding. Superb. Food excellent. Ambience excellent. Service excellent. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle and have a top meal with these lovely students dont hesitate to come. My fish was outstanding and my husband loved his fish tacos al pastor and poblano chilli. Also do try Mexican wine.

Delicious, affordable & inventive lunch at Zéfiro! I love that the place is student run, it’s such a wonderful concept. Our waitress Blanca was incredibly attentive and friendly. She and the rest of the waiters were kind enough to translate into English for us and explain some of the history and tradition behind the dishes we ordered. Thank you so much!

Fantastic restaurant in every way. Great, innovative food of course. Very nice location, with nice instrumental background music playing at just the right volume. Good selection of drinks. Service knocked it out of the park. Also multiple servers with very serviceable English, which they seems perfectly happy to speak. Did I mention very good prices? Prices could be 70% higher and still be reasonable. This includes drinks. They don’t seem to expect a tip, as the credit card doesn’t have tipping as an option. So bring cash, you should leave a tip for the fantastic service you are sure to receive. Sole caveat: small menu. I generally view that as a positive - do a few things well. But if someone in the party is a picky eater, then this my not be the restaurant for you.

Zefiro, likely because it is run by culinary students, feels compelled to 'deconstruct' and 'modernize' Mexican food. Sometimes it works, and sometimes somebody should have told them to stop playing with the food. It's a very pretty restaurant. The servers are earnest and inefficient - they make empty trips and don't anticipate customer's wishes for water, pepper and salt. They should ask and have pitchers of water and glasses at hand instead of having to stroll to the bar and chat with their buddies first. The food, in terms of its technical execution is fine, the portions are miserly as is the upscale fashion, but they can lack taste. I had a Manchamanteles that was a Napoleon pastry sized and shaped rectangle that had two smears of pureed vegetables and no sauce. The point of a Manchamanteles is the fruit and chile. No sauce means no fruit and mole, no moisture. It was conceived by people who don't get what a Manchamanteles is, which is inexcusable. I also had a Sopa de la Milpa where the crops appeared to have failed. It's a soup about the lushness and richness of the traditional Mexican field garden. This one was a demonstration of high-tech hambruna, all pureed and strained. Zero texture. Another failure of conception.

The food here is truly amazing and the prices are just as amazing. On trip adviser it is the top restaurant in Mexico City. It’s attached to a culinary school. I selected 6 to be tried in two different days Day 1 TACO ENSENADA $94 (this dish was so good, I was in food coma and didn’t care much for anything else I ate after it). 3 TACOS DE PESCADO AL PASTOR $80 (didn’t care for it much, after the first time I had). ARRACHERA MARINADA $189 (this can be a hit or miss, based on what your taste buds are. It wasn’t the style I liked my beef cooked). Desert was mind blowing good 🤯 Day 2 TACO ENSENADA $94 ( amazing again) ENSALADA ZÉFIRO $75 (very average) QUESADILLA DE LA CASA $85 (it was okay) PECHUGA DE POLLO EN ACHIOTE $155 (it was okay)

(Translated by Google) School restaurant of the University of the Cloister of Sor Juana, attended in all areas by students and teachers of the Gastronomy degree, you can see them working in the kitchen and also in the customer service area, all with great enthusiasm and dedication. We were attended by Uriel, a boy who is doing his social service, most polite, attentive and committed to his work. Delicious dishes and at very affordable prices. In addition to the dishes on the menu, each month they have a four-course menu suggestion, the March of this year is delicious: corn tetela, guayas soup, pork stew with mole from Morelos and marquesita. Also the cocktails are special, the one of March, which they baptized as Artemis, based on pear vodka was delicious. It is also famous for its desserts, it is very difficult to choose which to eat because they are all special. The place with a lot of history and very cozy. In short, a restaurant 100% recommended wherever you see it, to visit not only once, but whenever you can.
