Almost impossible to get a copy of medical records from UCSF. No one answers the phone and when they do, they have no record of your request. As I detach myself from UCSF, my new physicians confirm that their record requests are also usually ignored. This is so illegal.

This department seems like they do not know what they are doing. The people answering the phone will tell you they do not process requests/authorizations. The request/authorization is assigned to other people, and when you speak with the "processor" they still cannot give you a definitive answer on where they are at with the request. Then ask if you want to speak with a supervisor, and put you on hold for so many.monutes that you give up and hang up.

I was treated at UCSF in 2019. I have the utmost respect for their professionals and have financially contributed to the university. Early this year I went through the process of formally requesting a copy of my medical records as UCSF demanded. It has been nearly 5 months and I am still waiting for them. This delay is illegal to say nothing of unprofessional. I have gone so far as to ask my provider for assistance and have not obtained any help. What happened to UCSF?

I had 5 stars But now no Stars because a lady said I can pick up my records today I could not. Call this number it's like these people dont care other than their pay check. It's terrible to report this. Please please help your staff to love their work it's important. The CEO of Parnassis should hear about how their really doing.

The person who answered, did not identify herself. She put me on hold for quite a while, sounded jaded and presented a bad uncooperative attitude through the call. Instead of being helpful, she was obstructionist. Judging by other reviews that seems to be the policy at this department..

Overall they are quite tardy in sending requested medical records. I have to call several times about it. When I did get it more than a month later, they were the incorrect info. So I had to call them again and again, So this went on and on for another 1-2 weeks until I was able to talk to a Tiffany who corrected the situation promptly. For a copy of surgery consent form, the staff needs to get a separate permission. Make sure that in your signature for any surgery that you put a date directly below your signature in the signature box too bcoz my signature was forged electronically in a consent form I never did sign. Please send an email to their CEO Dr Sheila Antrum about this. There’s so much suspicious activity within certain departments of UCSF that their MR staff are under constant pressure from their supervisors or administrators about releasing information. Their central location is at 400 Parnassus in the Basement Room A88. Turn right after you get off the elevator. It is the first room on your left. You must knock at their door for someone to open. If you have submitted an electronic request bring a copy of that confirmation. If they say they never get it, ask for a form immediately, fill and check all the info you wanted including images, sign and give it to them. Ask to have a copy made for your record. Say you will pick it up in 1-2 days. Get the name of the person you deal with every time. They are deliberately rude to you so you would give up. As long as you keep records, and send in complaints to their CEO so she is aware her departments aren’t doing their jobs. Do not send anything to their Patient Relations for they are just as sloppy and disrespectful of patients complaints. They are there for show.

Hi. The lady that I talked was so rude and not respectful at all. At the end of the conversation (she couldn’t help me with my concern, by the way) she just hung up on me, without saying anything. So disappointing and frustrating, UCSF…

Seconding previous reviewer’s experience. This is the 4th building I’ve been sent to. No one seems to know where to send me, what they can give to me or where to direct me. Extremely frustrating. UCSF is causing already extremely distressed patients further distress. This process needs to be fixed ASAP.

So disappointed to read all the negative reviews. I used them a couple of times over the past year and they were always helpful and prompt.

I have no problem with records. It's the directions I can't believe. Haven't these people been in SF before?

People who are unsure if their medical records are obviously going to ask if their medical records are sent or would like to check the status. I don’t understand why whoever answered the phone was so rude, questioning if I knew what I was asking for. Lady was so rude, hope UCSF can replace whoever answers those phones to someone who is at least nice and will give bare minimum customer services. That lady probably sits on that phone all day giving everyone a hard time, how hard is it to at least be nice? Thanks to her I won’t ever recommend anyone to go to UCSF just for that reason itself. Shoutout to that lady.
