We celebrated our Anniversary here last night. Everything we ordered was DELICIOUS! The 40 clove chicken was the best chicken I have ever eaten. Just an explosion of flavor. The rib eye was also amazing. Tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. We shared the creme brulee cheesecake as well, and it was so light, and flavorful. We highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back. (Also, the drinks are strong! 😉)

This used to be the restaurant we must visit every time we came to San Francisco. We were really sad when their original location closed down last year. Now they have reopened at a new location which is actually not far from the old one, we sure were excited. The food was still good and the service was warm and friendly. However they seem to have toned down the usage of garlic, which is disappointing since this restaurant is supposed to be all about garlic. We will still come and eat here, but they seem to have lost their uniqueness.

After eating here at The Stinking Rose 🌹 I feel like a million bucks! Garlic is one of the top rated and natural antioxidants, anti inflammatory and much much more beneficial factors. Had the rib-eye steak oozing with garlic. So tasty. Also had the garlic ice cream which was surprisingly good. Not a fan of garlic? No problem as they do have dishes that are garlic free. They’ve also moved since I last came here. Love the new spot. I definitely recommend trying this restaurant. If one would like to eat healthy and live longer, it won’t be because you’ve been bitten by a vampire, nope not here 🩸

The Stinking Rose is always such a treat. One of my favorite restaurants and definitely my favorite Garlic themed restaurant. The original restaurant is in San Francisco but there's a second location in Beverly Hills. Amazing food, fast friendly service, and the atmosphere is great as well. Highly recommended if you're a Garlic lover or just want a wonderful dining experience. 10/10

Amazing food I love the location. The service team was wonderful. The host was a little rude but everything else about this place was on point and always is. The food is amazing. Worth checking out. There is nothing that I have had that I don't love. So much flavor. If you love garlic, definitely hit this place up.

Garlic hater beware! If you don't like the delicious strong taste of garlic, then thus may not be the place for you. Hubby was overwhelmed by the taste of garlic and ultimately ended up sending his steak back because of the strong garlic taste. ME on the other hand, I LOVED IT.. What garlic? I give the Stinking Rose 4 stars because the service was just a little slow and it's VERY congested inside the restaurant. If you have little ones, bringing a stroller inside can be rather difficult. Other than that, the food was great.

I was here for lunch date , such a lovely cozy place , I enjoyed my baguette sandwich and my husband gobbled the garlic muscles.. beautiful sitting arrangement outside the restaurant and everything was clean and nice. They have a heater above you in case it gets a bit chilly.

I'll be honest, the way the restaurant is talked about I thought it was going to be over the top garlicky. There are definitely garlic dishes, but every single bite I had was so well made and done with such quality that I was floored! The garlic ice cream is what really surprised me! It shouldn't be good, but it is! The place is Decked out in kitsch, and the service is great.

Food was amazing as always. First time at the new location. Had a great time. Only one thing bothered me, we had reservations for 730pm for 2. When we arrived, we were told that we would have to wait 30 to 45 minutes for a table inside. What is the point of reservation if you are not going to have a table set aside. Especially if you send me a text asking me not to be late for my reservation.

OVERALL: 4/5 Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 The Stinking Rose my regular spot to take our out of town visitors. This was the first time we went after the move to this new location. We were disappointed. The ambiance is still the same, cluttery with all the walls lines with Italian pantry items. The service was excellent, attentive but not overpowering. The food was disappointing. We had.. - Bruschetta - Warm Bread and fresh fragrant tomatoes as topping - Fettuccine with Fresh Tomato Marinara Sauce - Excellent. Home made pasta was delicious. - 40 Clove Chicken - very heavy and pasty (similar to if too much corn starch is used) gravy. The mashed potatoes were also bland. - Chicken/Brie Pizza - the toppings were fine (a little too cheesy for me personally) but the crust was undercooked and very doughy. Bottom line.. only half the items we tried were good. We will not be coming here again. There are too many excellent places in the neighborhood to come back to this SF favorite. 9-19-2023 - Dinner - Table for 3

The gnocchi had a good texture. The seafood fettuccine was large. The pesto was closer to an oil spread for bread and it was over salted. The theme was all over the place. The pork wasn't detectable in the beef and pork ragu and it had a lot of oil. A garlic restaurant named the Stinking Rose with beautiful sign. The menu has a cartoon Dracula. A scandalous mannequin like a garlic Marilyn Monroe. Cluttered pantry style shelves going to the ceiling. I was more excited to eat here than the outcome

Thank you for the fabulous outdoor dining experience. Mussels, lasagna, the pasta, cheesecake were the best. See you guys again in the future. For anyone looking for Italian food in SF go here no wrong decision either.

I won’t lie, we saw this place and thought it was one of those restaurants that’s been around forever, you go to it just to say you’ve been, and it’s alright. I was wrong! This place is fantastic. The street seating is such a vibe, the service was amazing, and the food/drink selection impressed us! I truly was shocked. Definitely will bring friend and family by for the experience. The haunted vampire theme fit perfectly in October which elevated it that much more.

If you're a garlic fan then you'll definitely like this place! Starters and mains were delicious, the staff were funny and friendly, and the atmosphere is very enjoyable - only note is you are seated closely next to others, it didn't bother me though as the restaurant isn't too big anyway (I didn't have any space left for dessert so cannot rate that unfortunately).

Service was pretty good, nice wait staff but I feel like they can rush you along. It's a kitchy place with all the garlic decor one could want. So it's cute and there are goofy photo ops. Food was just okay. The garlic oil bread was honestly the highlight but it did need salt and some chili pepper. The pot stickers were good and we finished those rather fast. The fennel pizza was good but very heavy on the fennel and it was a little doughy.

If you're on the fence, jump off and run into this restaurant!!! Upon entering, the decor seems a little hokie and is not at all reflective of the quality of the food. This is a very small restaurant, however they do have outdoor seating which helps. I would recommend a reservation before you go. We arrived early and were seated with no problem. There is definitely a ton of garlic in the food, but it's not so overwhelming that your mouth burns from it. The food was incredible, as was the service. I got the sea bass and my husband got the prime ribeye. The flavors were fantastic and cooked to the perfect temperature. We have already, and will continue to recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to eat in SF!

A delicious meal in a fantastic restaurant right in the heart of North Beach. Service was excellent. The food was prepared, cooked and eaten quickly. The menu has a good choice of meals and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was busy so book a table in advance. Definitely worth a visit
