Ordered the cheese sourdough square pizza (added chicken for my grandma but would’ve been better without) as takeout and really enjoyed eating it by the beach. It’s definitely not a traditional pizza and the crust is super chewy but for a sourdough-fiend like myself this was a treat. There was also a generous amount of cheese - the ricotta making it extra creamy. The slices are super thick and filling (I only needed 1 or 2). The broccoli dish had a slight kick and overall was very tasty. I loved the addition of roasted garlic and red onions although I would say it was slightly greasy (unnecessarily as I love a good greasy meal when it’s necessary). We also got the chopped salad which I ended up eating the next day. Very generous cheese topping but was yummy overall - I liked the dressing too. I couldn’t really taste any of the fresh herbs though which is usually my favorite additions to salad :( Overall would definitely recommend! I want to try some more interesting toppings and some of the beer next time!

Support asian establishments! Enviroment: Walked in at 5:30pm on a Friday and the place was pretty empty. Boom-bap rap was playing in the background most of the time while the NBA playoffs were streaming on TV. Service: You can order your self without talking to anyone by scanning the qr code at your table. Or, you can go to the bar and order like a normal person. Either way the food gets brought to you. I went to the bar to ask about nuts in the items I wanted. The staff was knowledgeable and assured me everything would be okay. Spoiler, they were right. Food: Sadly the pizza didn't live up to the hype for me. I'm not sure how they heated it up but the slice was lukewarm. Pretty sad considering not many people were there when I dined in. All it needed was like 2 more mins in the warmer... But dem fries doe. I would come here legit just to get a take out order of the garlic fries. Do not sleep on those bad bois.

The Detroit (ish) pizza was amazing. The Cheesy crust was so yummy! The Garlic Fries were super garlicky, and not because they just dumped chunks of garlic on it. They were made properly with Garlic Oil and fried Garlic. So good! The wife got a Chicken Round pizza, and the Mochi Chicken bites and she enjoyed them. The kid got the Brunch French Toast and said it was very good. The beer selection was decent, and service was good. Everyone was super friendly.

Came with a friend to have share a couple pies. When we walked in, the space was pretty empty but also, it was kind of expected for SoMA on a Sunday evening stuck in the midst of a pandemic. Having said that, the space was pretty cool. Sunset Squares and Namu both operate inside and all of the ordering can be done over your phone. There is also a digital gallery inside with some....eclectic art - admittedly not my style. However, a redeeming factor for me was their offering of a variety of drinks from local breweries which is super cool. We tried 2 pizzas and both had their pro's and con's. The first that we tried was the Jianbang Pub Pizza. This was a thin cracker like pizza topped with pork cracklings, pork floss, hoisin aioli, cilantro. To preface, jianbang is one of my most FAVORITE Taiwanese street foods and from a toppings perspective, it was on point. Execution-wise, unfortunately, it just wasn't there. There was hardly enough hoisin aioli. Some slices didn't even have any sauce (!!) so it really was like a cracker with a bunch of loose toppings! We ate from the edges in to guarantee that the last two pieces at least had the most flavor. For the Detroit style pizza, we went with the mapo tofu. The best part of this pizza was the dough itself. The slightly soured but high walls had a great crispy yet chewy texture and the cheesy crust was delectable. Where the pizza fell short was on the toppings itself. It just didn't have that mapo tofu oomph at all. I think it was meant to be a vegetarian pie, so charred scallions or some fresh threads of ginger would have been fun. Or incorporating some funk with doubanjang into the sauce? Maybe even just top it off with a drizzle of fried chilis in oil? I don't know, it just needed some extra pizzazz in my opinion especially for the price. Would I come back? I think if if I got a hankering for Detroit style pizza, I could see myself returning for a special slice especially with that guava cider from Far West Cider. That was a must have drink imo.

Great place to catch a game, with a great communal vibe. If you're looking for a separate table, there's a handful, but the significant majority of seating is raised counters/barstools. On the weekends there's a variety of offerings from pizza, to breakfast foods, to Filipino cuisine even. The drink selection is great as well. Would definitely come back for a happy hour for some drinks and maybe some pizza / garlic fries (which we thought were outstanding!)

Husband and I were going to a concert so we stopped here for food and drinks first. Quick friendly service (you seat yourself and order on phone after scanning QR code). Bulldog pizza was an experience in itself and pickled vegetables were a great way to start the long night! Bonus my husband got to watch his college football team on one of the many screens.

Having tried Sunset Squares twice now, both Chicago Pub Style and Detroit Style... I am giving this establishment a Strong 5 star rating because this Pizza is only Detroit-ish. If it was fully Detroit, things may have been different. I need to represent the 415 above all else. Due to the fact Sunset Squares uses Sourdough while making it Detroit Style, it should be called "San Francisco Sourdough Detroit Style". I will call it that in my mind and raise the pie to a 5 star. Now, the Chicago Pub Style Pizza is nothing to write home about compared to the San Francisco Detroit Style but why wouldest thou expect otherwise? If there was anything to write home about in regards to The Chicago Pub Pizza, it is that is an honorable component to the Excellent Detroit Style. I believe you have problems if you disagree. Taste bud problems at the very least. If you love Sourdough and you love Detroit Style Pizza, Sunset Squares Pizza boarders on Heaven sent. Sunset Squares is Heaven Bound for this amalgamation. It is the marriage of San Francisco Sourdough with Detroit Style Pizza that makes this Pizza a must try. There is nothing more to say. Hard YES, go here for sure. Look at the pictures. See the golden edges? Breathtaking artwork on the box as well, yes or yes?

We ordered the a Honey Butter Pizza with sausage. The pizza did not come with any meat. What a terrible experience and rip off with a tip that wasn't selected on the order and 7% SF mandate. Even worse they won't answer their phone for theft and lying. Avoid this deceptive business.

I ordered a BBQ Chicken pizza and a been. Pizza to go. I had my beer got my pizza and headed home . The pizza was flavorful how ever I feel a little (very) light on the chicken. Especially after spending $70- (tip included) on a beer and a pizza to go.

Love sunset squares pizza food hall! Great atmosphere and cool concept being able to order from 5-6 different menus. Pixl Cat coffee, Namu stonepot, Uncle Tito’s, Girlfriend Pizza (all gluten free), Flash Crash $6 burger, Sunset Squares pizza, and maybe more menus coming soon? All so good! Including the craft beer menu. My kids love the honey butter pub pie, mushroom square pizza, charred broccoli, half pint ice cream sundae, baked ziti and mochiko chicken! I love the wine.
