They did the Most important things right: Location felt safe, Public Transport is less than a Minute Walk, overall clean, super speedy Check in/out. Roomsize is more than enough for two, Controlling via the App is pretty cool. Floor could have been cleaned more often but everything else was super clean. What I would have wished is that the staff would notice me as a guest. You have to say good Morning First and they will answer but if I wouldn‘t have said anything they wouldn‘t either. But they were super friendly when I had a question or ordered a coffee. Overall pretty happy with my experience, would definitely stay again.

Great location, nearby Union square but since not directly facing it, so it’s not too noisy. Near to the tram station which usually very crowded. Walking distance to many good restaurants, bars and groceries. The night street here is clear with 2 crowded restaurants nearby. Their staffs service are top notch and very friendly. The room is small but very comfortable. Minimalist and smart design, clean, with nice bathroom and color changing light. Their lighting, blinds, and TV are all control by an iPad. And of course a Marvin doll in every room! Our trip is a-bit rush so we don’t have the chance to visit the rooftop. Overall great, at first I really concern about the room size as we have 2 big, 1 small luggage and few bags. These normally doesn’t fit well in few compact room hotels we stayed in other places but surprisingly still alright here. Most importantly the service is great which make the overall experience very good. Recommended.

We stayed here recently and had a good experience. I have stayed in many hotels in San Francisco and this is definitely one of the best. Nice staff, beautiful lobby and a really nice and cool room where you could change the light of the room and control the temperature from an app. Everything was really new and clean and the room is close to Union Square and Market street and the cable cars. Will definitely be back here again!

Good central location. Bar/snacks open 24/7. Plenty of outside options nearby. Steak house next door has great coffee in the mornings. Rooms are smaller, but well designed and comfortable. Somehow the entire building always smells amazing. Every staff encounter was positive, they're friendly and warm towards guests. A little pricey for the room size, but other positives outweigh this, IMO.

I believe I found my new favorite hotel. What's not to love about this place. Unlike anything I've ever seen or stayed at. I felt secure/safe when I arrived and saw that a key is needed to even walk in the front door. There was also a guard out front 24/7. Rooms are high tech with ipads that control everything from the lights, curtains/blinds, and temperature. The decor is modern and in great taste. Gives a nice living room feel. Food and drink was delicious and the staff is AMAZING! They make you feel welcomed the minute you walk in. I loved how Jeffy and Pierre took care of me in the morning with coffee. This is my place to stay when visit San Francisco.

First time trying this hotel. Found the check-in experience awesome, the food and lobby just as nice. The room for a couple not so much, too small and after all of their thought on lighting and design, the washroom seems to have terrible accoustics. Every little sound you or your partner makes on the toilet is heard anywhere in the room. What were the designers thinking? Otherwise the bed and everything else was nice. Will visit solo but as a couple, will pass. Decor is certainly hip.

Love the technology and design of the room. The small space is utilized very well and thoughtfully designed. Switches, TV, and curtains are controlled by iPads. The showerheads have push buttons, so after you turn off, you don’t need to rotate the handle to re-adjust the temperature again. The wash sink is designed in a way that water won’t splash to wet the counter top. I think other guests may not be used to compact room that you can’t get off the bed from both sides, however, we found it more than enough for two people. It makes us realize that most hotels out there really don’t need that much space. It is king size and the firm mattress is better for your spine health. The hotel is very cozy and We had a good night sleep here. The staff were super friendly, even though I was capable of self check in (this technology is also very nice I wish other Hotels are like this too which also give their staff flexibility instead of standing on one spot) they guided me in the process and were kind to help store my luggage temporarily.

I stayed here for 5days and it was great! They have lobby on 3rd floor and security guard always stay in front of the building. You can check in on machines by yourself or can get help from people. They were very nice and friendly. They also have a lounge and restaurant + bar on 3rd floor. And also you can get free sparkling water or normal water from machine they have.(you should bring cups you have in your room or any other bottle). Room was very clean and room service was great too. They also have a lot of stores near the hotel so it was very easy to travel and have fun. There was Walgreens right next block and it was basically a deli and grocery store so I could even get sushi and food for breakfast etc. it was good for saving some money! I enjoyed staying here and want to go back :)

I recently attended a conference in San Francisco and I decided to stay at Citizen M as I had seen good reviews about it and was curious to try it out. Citizen M is located in a central location, within walking distance of conference venues, attractions and restaurants. It is a small but stylish hotel with all the essentials you need. The bed is comfortable, but the pillow is on the bigger and harder side. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they were able to accommodate my change of schedule without any hesitations. Overall, I recommend Citizen M for the younger techie crowd who are looking for a cute and affordable hotel in San Francisco. It's a great option for those who value style and convenience over space.

On the surface pictures are pretty and they take really good pictures. But I only want one thing when I come to a place for the evening and that is to be able to sleep. There's only one style of mattress, extra extra super duper board firm as if you were sleeping on a very thin pad on the floor. If you like to backpack and sleep on the floor or you love the style of mattress for home, great, come stay here. I haven't been able to sleep yet and it's going to be a very long night. The sidewalk right in front of the hotel has been cleaned but much of the surrounding neighborhood. The sidewalks have not and there's a little bit of a sketchy neighborhood in one direction. I have scent allergies as well and something is making everything in my head stuffy in this room. I have stayed at quite a few hotels over the years. I am not going to choose this one again. I'll have to let the interviewers know. The concept is sound. They just need to allow for older backs and hips.

Great rooms greatest of staff, we miss you Oscar you keep shining bright. Location is great in a sense that everything is easily accessible and it's right next to major buses/train routes but honestly at this point all of union square is taken over my druggies and crime. I couldn't leave the hotel after 8pm given how much crime there was. Nothing bad to the hotel tho I would definitely stay again

Loved my stay here! I was in town for a week long business trip and this was a great spot for me to stay at. Every person on staff I interacted with was wonderful. They were so kind and helpful. My room was clean and cozy. The bed was really comfortable. I also appreciated the iPad controls and all of the light/curtain switches in the room. There was conditioner and lotion available at the front desk upon request as well. The only thing was location - it was a convenient walk to the office and seemed fine during the day, but I made sure to get back before 8 pm every day.

An awesome experience! Staff are very attentive and helpful, common area and bar is well laid out and has a good vibe. Rooms are small but expertly laid out and has everything you could need! Highly recommend this place to anyone staying in San Fran for whatever reason. Will be coming back!

Modern, new age hotel. Great location and easy to get around the city. Check in was easy enough. My room was small but new, clean and bright. Hi-tech controls for lights and other room features could be a little confusing at times but not too bad. The bed and pillows were a little firm. Note that the bed was right up against the wall and couldn't be moved. Fine for me staying solo but maybe not for couples. Had the breakfast one morning...expensive but not too bad. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and would happily come back!

I often stay in this hotel chain. It's high tech, the beds are very comfortable. The rooms are small but serve their purpose perfectly, everything is spotless, purpose built and incredibly cosy. The atmosphere in the shared spaces is nice and the service is kind and always helpful. Wholly recommend.

This place is amazing! Great downtown location, close to union square and has public transport. The room was spotless, all the linen and towels got changed daily. They also gave you the option to skip the clean, if you did that they would make a small donation to charity. Staff had humor and were ready to help 24/7. Lobby also has a great variety of board games and pc's you can use for free. I would, and I will stay here again. Highly recommend it!

We stayed there 7 nights. It was a very convenient modern hotel. The location is perfect, just 100 meters to Powell BART station and very close to Union Square. The room was modern with a lot of digital things and very clean. The lobby and the bar restaurant area were very well decorated. The breakfast was OK for America, not too bad.
