One of my favorite Indian restaurants in San Francisco!! The food is very delicious, the plating is beautiful, the decorations and ambiance are very good. The cocktails are also amazing. They have the best mango lassi as well.

Excellent! Flavorful, fresh food . I believe that every dish here, along with every condiment and side, are made fresh from scratch every day. Attentive, very polite service. All the dishes I tried was awesome . They are always happy to customize a dish, and by default, they don't serve overly-spicy food. But if you like it spicy, or any other special way, just ask and they will do it for you. In my opinion, Castro Indian Restaurant & Bar is one of the best restaurant in the bay area and certainly the best I have found in San Francisco area as far as the quality of food, cleanliness, and service.

I had really high hopes for this place given their extensive menu, great location, and service. The only thing that held me back from the 5th star was that even though I asked for mild, all the dishes were very spicy. I can handle it, but many others can’t and it’s disappointing to have the option and it not be followed.

It’s one of my favorite Indian restaurant. The food is so delicious. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. They brew their own beer and it’s really good.

This is the best Indian food I think I've ever had. The server was very nice and suggested delicious drinks and sides. Would highly recommend it to anyone who likes Indian food or to people looking to try it for the first time. I will be coming back here many times in the future. I cannot stress enough how absolutely lovely the food is.

Good Indo-american food! Great taste and freshly made. They got some good interior and beautiful looking place. Would definitely go back to try more on their menu! Customer service was great too!

What a great experience we had! We ordered the 6 item taster menu and they customized my husband's to be seafood-less while I was able to enjoy the seafood items. Almost everything was delicious and filling. Absolutely a fun experience! Totally recommend.

Great. I hate to say how surprised I am. I walked by a million times and for whatever reason I just didn’t want to go in. The food great Staff great. Cute setting inside.

They brew their own beer! And it’s delicious. Nice bar area, choice of inside or outside seating. Excellent menu, lots of choices, even some Chinese. Superb Indian cuisine. Very good service. Enjoy!

We decided to come to this very highly rated restaurant in the fun Castro neighborhood and we’re not disappointed and are to be able to heap more praise on it. This is some of the best Indian food I’ve had anywhere. Everything was made well, using local and organic when possible. The bengan bharta was tart, smoky, and smooth, while the coconut curry veggies were sweet, nutty, and so delicious. The cilantro sauce was better than usual, though the tamarind sauce was a little too thin. And the piña colada with coconut yogurt was quite an unusual treat. We’re already planning to return next week with our cousins.

We came here with a small group on a Saturday night for dinner around 8:30, and I'm shocked this place is not packed to the brim. The food is absolutely amazing and the cocktails are creative and delicious! We tried several dishes and cocktails, and there was nothing we didn't like. My favorite things were the chicken wings and the eggplant dip, which were both recommended to us, and I otherwise would have missed them! Every dish had beautiful flavors and was perfectly cooked. We had a great time!

Whoa! After two restaurants came and went in this space relatively quickly, this one comes out of nowhere and knocked our socks off. Much more affordable than the two previous iterations and the food is damn good. Got my traditional “let’s see if this place is any good” dish of simple tikka masala and it was spot on. Perfect tanginess, rich, great spice. Husband got coconut curry and equally as good. Samosas were huge and stuffed full. Great rice dessert and even the beer brewed onsite was tasty. Staff was adorable. What an improvement and exactly what the Castro needed!

My favorite restaurant and bar in sf by far. I try to come in weekly to try out the various dishes. The menu is diverse and the food here is great. The servers and bartenders are friendly and provide great recommendations for food/drinks. The restaurant also brew its own beer which has great taste and makes it authentic. It also provides kids friendly menu. I’m definitely visiting again with my family and friends.

New restaurant on the block and it slapped! Great host, yummy food, good options for vegetarians, and I recommend the garlic naan! Mmmm what is better than hot bread roasted with lots of garlic!?! Pictured is one of the desserts, forgot the name, but it tastes just like a puffy donut hole that bathed in sweet honey! 😋

Awesome. The food is as delicious as the menu is varied. Same for the drinks! The cocktails and beer are delicious. Lots of options all around, each one of them tasty. Plenty of vegetarian choices. Generous portions, too, at reasonable prices. Attentive and friendly staff. Thank you!!

I ordered the Tikka Masala and this meal did not disappoint. The flavors were masterful with just the right amount of spice, and the rice was done right and a perfect compliment. I ordered some Naan bread as well, which was also delicious with the flavor sealed in. The service was quick, polite and helpful as they just opened and I had a few questions. Will be back to see satisfy my Indian cravings.

Pizza was awesome you guys need to try draft beer here. Hospitality is very good
