I've been hoping to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. I live near Vietnamtown in San Jose (meaning I'm not hurting for authentic Vietnamese cuisine), so it's worth noting Bodega was fantastic and held up against my local options. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and the noodles were phenomenal. The char level was also perfect, as was the house-made hot sauce. Looking forward to our next SF visit so we can come again. ❤️

Bodega SF is a great place to bring friends, family or that special someone to dine with. The atmosphere of the restaurant was truly amazing. It had a warm and inviting ambiance that made me feel instantly comfortable. The decor was tastefully done, adding to the overall charm of the place. But the true highlight of the evening was the food and drinks. The menu offered a variety of mouthwatering options (pictured), and every dish I tried was simply delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was impressive. The drink selection was equally impressive, with a wide array of creative and refreshing choices to complement the meal. Overall, if you’re looking for a memorable dining experience in SF - bodega is the place to go!

We stopped at this place and we’re told that the bar had open seating. We did not have to wait long for a spot for two to open up. It was nice to watch the drinks being made. The cocktails were decent. Appetizers were really good and I enjoyed them more than the entrees. Service was a tad slow but since I was catching up with a friend the pace seemed ok.

First time trying this upscale Vietnamese restaurant. Started with fried smelt, decent, could have been more crispy. Garlic noodles had great flavor but noodles seemed a little soft, maybe just a personal preference but a little more bite would be an improvement. The standout dish was the prawns with fried rice. Grated salted egg over the top added a really interesting texture and richness. Very cool spot, would definitely return.

Probably one of the best restaurants in San Francisco. We visited the place twice. During lunch it was very quiet and the food portions were just right. For dinner, the prices were much higher and the portions accordingly. We were mislead by the dish description and got something that we absolutely don’t like. The waitress took the order back without charging us. Only for this, the restaurant has already earned 5 stars. As I have written at the beginning, this is one of the finest restaurants in SF. But please make sure you know what you are ordering because it can be a bit tricky. Many thanks to the bartender for his great cocktails.

Ordered 3 appetizers and one entree cause we were in a rush. Surprisingly good overall. Everything was pretty solid. Slight twist on traditional vietnamese dishes but still didn't lose the part of the dish that makes it good. Would come back again.

Great Vietnamese restaurant in downtown San Francisco, 3 minute walk from the Hilton. Had the Oysters w/Yuzu Coconut Foam, really small oysters and you only get 3,but really good. Also had the Beef Pho which was also really good, portion size was small but the broth was great as well as the Brisket and Meatballs. Finished up with the Lemon Grass Clams which were also good. Person next to me got the whole Branzino and it looked and smelled incredible. Definitely recommend.

The soup base is great. The first time I came I had the wide noodles. I came specifically for the wide noodles again. I didn't expect the regular Pho Noodles. The server forgot to ask me which noodles I wanted or I didn't specify that I wanted the wide fresh noodles so even though the Pho was good it didn't satisfy my craving for wide noodles. When I got home I had to eat some crackers since I didn't feel like I got what I was expecting and still had cravings. Good ambiance inside. A couple blocks to Downtown Shopping Area.

Really good food. We had just gotten back from our trip to Vietnam and were craving Vietnamese food so we tried this place out. It hit the spot. The bun cha and the papaya salad were the standouts. Tasted like the meals we had in Hanoi!

Got the tasting menu -- terrible value, don't get it. It's less than the price of the individual dishes and wasn't anything special. I paid $365 for 3 ppl but it was definitely not worth the price. I'm never coming here again because of the price to value ratio and cannot recommend this place to my friends in terms of value. Experience was very run of the mill. The waitress was very nice but the hostess didn't have a good attitude. Tumeric cake and pho were bomb, very flavorful broth and meat but everything else was pretty ordinary.

    | What I ate @ SFO | Welcome to BODEGA SF! Food: it’s new style of Vietnamese restaurant but what I really like and always want to try where I travel, except when I’m in Vietnam. I’m not sure but feeling like the main chef or owner must be 100% Vietnamese since the tastes are really closed to our authentic one which is flavorful and even the smells when the dishes were severed. I didn’t expect much before I came there, just wanted to check it out because it was the style I liked and closed to my hotel, but from the first dish, I fell in love and had more trusts on what they would serve me. Server: friendly, professional and understanding about what they were serving even he wasn’t a Vietnamese. Vibe: classic, chic but not too formal, and it’s great a date with your half. Check out my IG @vincie.foodie for more food recommendations in SF (while I’m visiting) or somewhere else!

Bodega is the best restaurant I dined in this neighborhood. All very delicious and well presented. We had grilled lamb and seasoned raw beef. Very delicious. It is family style, great to share different tastes. The staff is very cheerful and friendly. Reservation recommended.

Hands down my favourite Vietnamese place in San Francisco! Very innovative (for me) and flavourful dishes. Every dish was delicious but I highly recommend the garlic noodles and pho with Chinese donut. The iced coffee was also perfection. Lemongrass pork was good and the hoi an chicken rice was good (similar to hainese chicken). My only regret is not having a bigger stomache to eat more! Service was great and decor was beautiful.

Complex flavor in every single bite. I highly recommend the oysters w/ smoked trout roe and charred squid tomato salad. The charred squid tomato salad is tossed with pickled mustard greens (a personal fave of mine) in a tangy ponzu. I have never tasted anything so delicious. Please try it. Drinks are tasty - very Southeast Asian-y. Ambiance is cool and perfect for date nights.

Beef pho is just average. Shaking beef is tasty. The appetizers we tried are worth trying. Dessert is huge lol. Service is super slow.
