The person at the donation center was being so lazy and rejected all the items I brought. I had taken the time and energy to bring them a box full of clean and good condition clothes and a nice office chair. The person didn't even look through the box and said that the box was in bad condition (it was literally just a cardboard box) and didn't care about all of the good clothes I had.

Out of The Closet has great prices and an awesome mission. I frequent the Folsom location (not sure if there are multiple locations), and it’s a bit dingy inside. There are no dressing rooms and no returns so that’s kind of a bummer. Overall, I’d still recommend checking it out because of the nice pieces i’ve come upon and the low prices.

Thrifting while supporting a great cause is the number one reason to go here. The second reason being, the amazing staff. They are so kind and sweet. The next reason would be the selection of items, I sort of wanted to buy everything. The pricing is out of this world for San Fran- honestly wish they charged more so that more goes to patient care ($.96 of every dollar is donated). I found a large plaid duffel bag for $6!! I mean. Also, they have sales for certain color tags, it might change daily but there are signs posted. Ie. Yellow = 30% off. They had red tag items for $1!! The shop has high end clothing, masculine and feminine sections, bags, furniture, house hold items, hats, and shoes. SUPPORT SUPPORT SUPPORT ⭐️

I’m glad for the services they provide, but donating here is a demeaning experience. The women are amazing, but the man in the donation area is mean, terse, makes dehumanizing comments and throws items at people who donate.

(Pathetic response from the simpleton 'owner' was expected like all their other responses to reviews. The fact this store let $10k+ worth of profit go to Landfill says it is NOT a legit non-profit doing good for our community. Read full review before shopping/donating here) What an awful organization. And so much lost potential. Husband and I moving to Palm Springs. No exaggeration when I state that I had clothes that could be resold for $1k’s. I mean one suit I was donating alone I paid $3k for 3 years ago. But bagged up 8 large bags (30 gallon) full of name brand clothes, many with tags still on them from Diesel, Prada, Zenga and Swiss, Nordstroms etc.. Out of the Closet response; “Sorry. We won’t pick up clothes”. I explained that this was too much to even fit in the back of my car. They don’t care. So I called 800-Junk and they will come get it next week. Yes, it will be thrown away in a landfill cause I don’t have the time to make 4 trips across the city. It’s no loss of mine, but sad that a non-profit is so picky they are willing to throw away what could’ve easily made them $10k+. Out of words on this one but hey, good job looking out for the community you say you support. You essentially are “too good” for $10k+. Good job. Should be proud of yourself. My opinion; Don’t donate here. They are really not trying to be a good non-profit. They don’t support a community in a way they should.

Tried to donate clothes an was treated pretty inhumanely...feel like the folks working in the donation department need a lesson in customer service/basic human compassion.

The absolute worst customer service. Had I know how horrible and ignorant the guy with glasses was I'd would have taken my donations to Polk st. Don't shop here stores a mess!
