My
mom
and
I
booked
this
hotel
using
her
Bonvoy
points
and
after
contacting
the
hotel
to
ensure
I
would
be
able
to
use
them
&
adding
me
to
the
room,
I
was
turned
away
at
12am
by
the
front
desk.
No
one
stated
on
the
phone
(when
my
mother
and
I
called)
that
the
points
holder
was
required
to
be
at
the
hotel
to
collect
keys,
or
that
my
credit
card
could
not
be
used,
and
it
seemed
like
either
thing
might
have
been
mentioned.
Additionally,
upon
leaving
and
then
checking
the
confirmation
email,
it
said
âyouâre
checked
inâ,
and
that
the
room
would
be
ready.
If
this
is
how
Marriott
&
the
Jay
treat
either
their
gold
elite
members
or
any
member
of
the
public,
I
cannot
recommend
it.
It
seemed
particularly
callous,
given
the
time
of
night,
and
that
I
and
my
fiancĂŠe
are
both
women.
My
mom
thought
she
was
doing
something
nice
for
us
which
became
stressful
and
dangerous.
Offering
to
âensure
the
front
desk
agents
are
trainedâ
doesnât
really
solve
the
issue
of
leaving
two
people
without
a
room
at
midnight
or
charging
$250
for
a
room
that
was
meant
to
be
a
gift.
The
lobby
seemed
stylish
but
on
principle
I
do
not
want
to
stay
there.
