The hotel just finished renovation and changed name from Le Meridien to The Jay AC hotel. (A reminder email before check in would be nice.) Everything looks new and people are nice but do expect small things still not working well here and there: WiFi is not stable, smoke detector still covered with plastic bag and be careful with the motion sensor lights everywhere and in BATHROOM. The light went out during shower…which is not safe at all.

Brand New after renovation, just got here and this is day 4 of remodel after it was rebranded from Le Meridian. Nothing to Complain about and was put on top floor with Amazing View.

My mom and I booked this hotel using her Bonvoy points and after contacting the hotel to ensure I would be able to use them & adding me to the room, I was turned away at 12am by the front desk. No one stated on the phone (when my mother and I called) that the points holder was required to be at the hotel to collect keys, or that my credit card could not be used, and it seemed like either thing might have been mentioned. Additionally, upon leaving and then checking the confirmation email, it said “you’re checked in”, and that the room would be ready. If this is how Marriott & the Jay treat either their gold elite members or any member of the public, I cannot recommend it. It seemed particularly callous, given the time of night, and that I and my fiancée are both women. My mom thought she was doing something nice for us which became stressful and dangerous. Offering to “ensure the front desk agents are trained” doesn’t really solve the issue of leaving two people without a room at midnight or charging $250 for a room that was meant to be a gift. The lobby seemed stylish but on principle I do not want to stay there.

    - Staff: I was offered an upgraded room with a beautiful bay view with my Bonvoy gold elite membership. The professional team took care of all I needed during my stay. - Breakfast: love the menu; you can do add-ins such as probiotics/collagen to your smoothie! - Walkability: walkable to the park and the piers nearby.

You're next to the Embarcadero and Ferry Building! Rooms are brand new and the views of the bridge are fantastic! Will definitely be back :)

The Jay is the best hotel in the city -- and that's coming from someone who's been to the Fairmont, Four Seasons, Palace Hotel, One Hotel, and Proper. The rooms are beautiful, especially the ones with views that look over Coit Tower and the bay. For me, the best part of the hotel is its location. The hotel is two blocks away from the cable car and wharf. It also has easy access to Chinatown, Nob Hill, Union Square, and North Beach. An added bonus -- the lobby restaurant is fantastic and has an amazing outdoor terrace.
